The things I really like…read moreabout them: - you pay on a monthly basis and get the time slot you want and keep it as long as you continue to pay. None of that re-enrolling after 10 weeks (or however long other swim programs are) and writing down 3 time slot choices (hoping to get your #1 choice). - group session is maximum of 3 swimmers! - consistent teachers. My daughter had teacher John for almost 2 years before seeing a different teacher. - program director is very receptive of comments. Example: one new teacher talked a lot in the beginning to the point the kids were no longer listening. Explained the situation to the program director and the following week, there was improvement. Short instructions, kids listened well, and ample swim time. My daughter would've stayed with Orca if it weren't for the fact that she wanted to join a swim team and needed that next-level program to improve her endurance and skill set. I always recommend first time swimmers to check out Orca.

Orca's unique approach to swimming truly is a miracle. I just completed the 8 class beginner course in the Bothell pool. I am amazed they were able to overcome all my years of negative self-talk and experiences and now I am able to hang out comfortably in the deep end of the pool. They dispelled all my misconceptions I had about swimming and myself. Do you want to feel safe and actually enjoy yourself in this new phase of your life? Contact Orca Swim School. I am so glad I did. Truly enlightening.

Color Me surprised when I saw that Waterbabies was offering a once a month free swim hour in the Kent rec catalog. So, we decided to give it a try. It's only about 16 minutes from my house so it's not too far to go. Getting there was not very tricky. I followed my GPS, which led me behind a bar at the far end of a business complex. Parking has always been easy to find, even a close spot near the door. We've been here three times since and my girls love going. To be honest, I love going too. But what sets it apart from other pools is that they have really awesome foam toys that I had never seen before, like a floating foam slide and a foam canoe that fits two. They also have lots of handheld toys, rings, and goggles to use. They have the larger pool, which is 4 ft throughout, and they have a smaller one by the door. My one gripe with using the local pool was that it was always a fight to get a shower afterwards...But not here. We've always been able to walk right into the changing room, shower with pleasantly hot water, and know that our belongings are safely stored in one of their lockers. One convenience feature I also saw was a pack and play available for moms with babies that need corralling. All of the staff is very nice, with even keel, reasonable energy. You don't get overtalked to, but everybody is informed in case you have questions. It's been a really great experience coming here and I hope they continue to offer this monthly family swim!

Update they made it right added a few stars…read more I had my daughter's birthday here. We weren't impressed by the lack of communication and how long it took to get a reply and book the party. It's nice you have the entire space for just your group and you can use all the water toys they have. Which is a ton of fun toys. The party space was a good size for the group of 12 kids but their wasn't a lot of extra chairs for the adults. I liked that we were allowed to tape decorations. You are responsible for setting up the whole room. The tables were all folded in the corner and chairs in stacks. The huge negative was the pizza package that was clearly stated on the website to include juice, water, plates, napkins, and forks... When we ordered it it wasn't mentioned they didn't include those anymore we found out a few minutes before the party was going to start! One of us had to run to the store to buy the needed things and missed half the swimming time for my daughter's birthday. If it was just me I don't know what I would have been able to do to get the needed supplies and watch my kids... If we had known none of those were included and it was only the pizza I could have bought and picked up the pizza for a lot cheaper since dominos is in the same complex as the pool. And I would have been prepared with the items we needed.

Our family has had two very different experiences at Kinderswimmer…read more My son was enrolled here for several years. Because the classes are only 30 minutes and shared among four children, it took some time (multiple years) for him to become a fully independent swimmer, but he did eventually get there. His instructors, especially Ms. Jada, were core to his success and we loved her. Unfortunately, the quality declined significantly by the time my daughter started. The facility seems to be facing high staff turnover, resulting in frequent class cancellations. When substitute teachers were brought in, they often appeared undertrained and disengaged. The turning point for us was a severe SAFETY INCIDENT that led to our immediate withdrawal. During a lesson, a substitute instructor remained in the shallow end with her back turned while my daughter was noticeably struggling in the deep end. This was not the first time I had witnessed an instructor positioning themselves poorly or failing to scan the pool. Despite another parent also shouting to get the instructor's attention, she did not respond. I ULTIMATELY HAD TO JUMP INTO THE POOL FULLY CLOTHED TO RESCUE MY DAUGHTER. Following the incident, the instructor never acknowledged what happened or checked on my daughter's well-being. Management did not contact me until I emailed them to withdraw and request a full refund. To their credit, the owners processed the refund without question and attempted to call me to discuss the matter. They also offered me a month of free lessons and tried to assure me the issue had been addressed with the teacher. However, there is no acceptable explanation for an instructor completely ignoring swimmers or standing on the wrong side of the pool. While I appreciate management's immediate response, safety and trust cannot be bought back with a credit.

I did a Google search of places that had swimming lessons and this place popped up. It looked like…read moreit had good reviews as well. I signed up. It was a little confusing because when I signed up, my credit card wasnt charged. For 2 kids, the initial price was $250, I believe. After a couple of days, I got charged and I logged in and it showed the days we were enrolled. The business looks like a house swimming pool. If the class is full it's 4 kids max for one teacher. I think each kid has about 4-6interactions for a half hour. One trip to the other side of the pool is considered an interaction in my observation. I could be wrong. Once the kids get to the other side, they are instructed to wait. During the waiting period, they need to put both hands on the wall. There's no play time -just waiting and instructing when you have one-on-one time. Once you're time is up, you are expected to leave the pool, I feel like. I suggest getting all ready to go before your scheduled time cuz the 1/2 hr goes by fast. You want to get the most out of the time you have. I like that the pool is heated and it's a good size. There's a lot of waiting time. I mean, a lot, if class is full.

*** update : GO TO BBB AND LOOK AT THEIR REVIEWS. Everyone is complaining about the same thing…read more Wish I would have done my research. I signed my kids up for safesplash thinking they would be in an organized class. My kids had their first class a month ago , and I'm sorry to say I'm not convinced one bit. 30 minutes to teach 7+ kids in a small section of the gym pool that you have to go through the locker room to get there.. I don't know how I feel about that. My kids are boys 8 and 10 and I can't go through the men's locker room with them and they can't go through the women's locker room with me. There's no other way in! I'm not convinced my sons are going to learn anything with that much time and that much interaction. It seems a lot of it feels rushed and time is still wasted. I called shortly after the first class to say I changed my mind and this wasn't the right fit and if I could get a refund FOR WHAT I HAVNT DONE YET. They said they don't do refunds- I asked to speak to a manager and they said I would get a call back in 48 hrs- absolutely not after three days I called again this was a Saturday and I asked them why i hadn't gotten a call back- they said they've been really busy- hard to believe. I pushed for a call back by the end of the day, and nothing. I got an email 6 days after I had called- and that went into the next class that I had paid for that I wasn't planning on attending. I paid $230 to get my kids enrolled for what's remaining in April (i paid the prorated price of two Mondays of what was left of April) and I signed them up for every Monday - I paid that on 4/20/26. 5 DAYS LATER I'm getting charged $290 ! For what?! For the month of may? For April? We hadn't even gotten to may yet. Either way you're telling me that I would have already paid $520 and my kids have only had a 30 min crash course? Save your money. Get them enrolled into a a better organization- Last year I bought them both TWO SETS OF CLASSES FOR 8 weeks at Henry Moses in Renton which means they got 30 minutes a day for 4 days a week for 8 weeks in an actual pool- not sectioned off and I paid less than what I'm going to be paying monthly with safe splash for only once a week for 30 mins. 8 hrs a month vs 2 hours a month. I called and asked them for a refund and they said that NOTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE THEY DONT DO REFUNDS. Seriously I asked for the manager, they said he would call me in 48 hours - 6 days later I get an email and I let them know my concern and they didn't care. I'm reiterating this because they are a scam - they are thieves. I tried disputing this TWO TIMES with my bank and both times denied "because I did in fact receive the services I paid for" no I didn't I only went to one class and they couldn't refund me what I didn't attend THEY ARE LIARS - instead they said I could make up the class COMPLETELY MISSING MY POINT- MY YOUNG CHILDREN ARE NOT GOING THROUGH THE LOCKER ROOM WHERE GROWN MEN ARE UNDRESSED AND IM NOT WASTING ANOTHER 30 MINUTES of "play time" swimming because thats literally all it is.

I tried to explain to them that he is high functioning and is able to listen to instructions, in addition I would be there during the class. The lady put me on hold after telling me about an adaptive aquatics class they offer only to come back and tell me they do not offer this in the state of Washington They refused to talk about the policy and no manager was available. To be honest I rarely post negative reviews but this level of discrimination is ridiculous. How do you refuse to teach a kid how to swim because of a diagnosis? Super disappointed will definitely not be recommended to anybody. Luckily there are better companies that have been much more helpful.

I cannot tell you…read morehow many times in the last few months they have canceled the classes because they were understaffed or somebody called out sick last minute. There were times where it was two weeks in a row, and somehow we are given makeups that expire within two weeks. Additionally, you are only given one make up class per month, so if you happen to miss more than one, they will not provide a "make up token". Due to the missed classes and the understaffing we have missed out on quite a few. They also are very bad communicating because we have shown up to the pool with no teachers and no classes going on. It's a big waste of time. Not to mention that we are not allowed to use the dressing rooms or showers at LA fitness. You can get cramped trying to dress a toddler in a tiny pop-up changing booth. LA fitness certainly makes you feel like second class citizens.

When we started with SafeSplash, I feel we were extremely lucky to find this program and the team of instructors, but more than anything the instructor Amanda S. is incredibly in tune with the students, both individually and within groups. Amanda S. is a swim instructor as well a school teacher and I believe this extensive experience and her take-charge attitude really encouraged and supported my children's confidence in the water, as well as taught them (and currently teaching them) this important life skill. Thank you SafeSplash, and thank you to Miss Amanda S.! We are forever grateful and appreciative!
