Bellevue Aquatic Center

This is where the physical diving took place for the class with Silent Diving…read more It's a short drive, and thankfully there was a Walgreens on the way since we forgot our towel. Good amount of seating for those watching, the pool gores to 15ft deep, there are multiple diving boards, there were a lot of lap swimmers there, must be all pumped up from watching the Olympics...lol. Nice facility, large changing/ showing areas. Just wish they had a large screen TV for those not in the pool since there was a Seahawks game I was trying to watch. I was able to plug my phone in and catch parts on my phone...service was a little shotty. Everyone that worked there was nice, and my son really enjoyed the scuba diving class. It went until 9pm. It's too far out of our way to go just to swim....but if it was closer is definitely take my kids there to swim.

It's a literal shit show on weekends, this is probably my 12th? time that the pool has been shut…read moredown because kids are taking a dump in the pool. 1. The lifeguards don't enforce the rules including shoes everywhere, screaming, diving, rough play, and most important- parents being responsible and the wearing of swim diapers. 2. They are happy to take your $, happy to shut the pool down early when inevitably kids take a dump in the pool. They take zero accountability 3. I've been in dozens of warm therapy pools like this in many countries and this is the ONLY one that allows children under age 12. There are reasons for that: small bodies heat up faster, they go to the bathroom a lot in warm water. Bellevue aquatic again takes no responsibility- they will tell you that it's perfectly safe and it's a multi use pool. These are the same people who will gaslight you that "suit spinners" are dangerous because they might get mold (true if they don't clean them) --- but kids taking a dump in the pool is perfectly fine.

This might be the WORST pool on the planet. The website is hard to navigate. The family swim option…read moreis horrible. Once we arrived we were told that they can't guarantee swim time EVEN THOUGH they took our money. Kids basically aren't allowed to have fun there, even strong swimmers. They can't jump, play, or go to the deep end. Come on Redmond, you can do better.

This seems like a solid pool. I enjoyed my very first lap swimming experience here. The pool was…read moregreat and people were friendly. I used the waveaquatics.org site to purchase a drop-in pass for $10. I went on a Sunday morning around 9:00 am; kids lessons appeared to have started around 8:30 am so maybe 8:00 am would be less busy. The deep end was reserved for lap swimming. All lanes had at least one or two people in them. I observed the swimmers while I warmed up and decided which person to ask to share. I was able to split the lane with them, which worked out well. 15 mins of freestyle and I was gassed, but it was great! The locker room was well equipped with changing rooms, toilet rooms, and lockers. Several of the locks were very difficult to turn and makes them unusable. I found a locker that is higher up and must get less use because it was super easy to turn to lock after setting my combo - it is the same style lock as you find in many exercise studios these days. There are three rinsing showers for use immediately before and after swimming and a nice big mirror to put on and check your swim cap before heading to the pool deck. There's also a few full showers for getting clean and back into regular clothes. Lots of hooks are around for your towel but be sure to bring one! I forgot today and asked for one, but they didn't have any they were willing to provide.

My kids did private lessons at Eastside Swim School and we were absolutely blown away by how much…read morethey both advanced in just one summer. One of my children was petrified of the water and wouldn't submerge his head on the first day, and three months later, he was literally swimming across the pool independently. My other child could just barely swim, and by the end of a few months, he could nearly beat his instructor in a swimming race across the pool. Lisa and her staff are incredible. They are dedicated to helping kids learn water safety awareness, building confidence and independence, improving swimming technique and endurance, all while encouraging kids to have fun and truly enjoy the water. We are so grateful to Lisa and her teachers (our boys adored Aidan!) for helping my children learn the important life skill of swimming--something they will take with them for the rest of their lives!

After one session with Gelsi she emerged from the pool so proud that she actually swam. The way that Gelsi broke down her instruction into logical points that clicked with my daughter was much appreciated. Also, the owner, Lisa, is responsive and easy to communicate with. She checked in with us following the first lesson to make sure that we were happy.

Several factors go into this rating:…read more FACIILITY: 3. This facility was built in 1971 and looks it. Ceiling tiles have been broken or missing for decades, some lights remain out, and consistent hot showers are a bit of a coin toss. But the pool itself is what matters, and it's a consistent good swim at a reliable good price. REGISTRATION APPLICATION: 3. I'm now raising this to a 3 because this glitzy application now actually works end-to-end, once you figure out all the wrong turns to not take. It is far from intuitive, and successful checkout may require clicking on an obscure "Apply" link in blue-on-blue text. I hope someone eventually does formal usability testing. PEOPLE: 5. The team here is phenomenal, and they've done a fantastic job getting swimmers signed up in the absence of a functional sign-up app. And they're doing the most with the facility they have. Average it together, and the weighting goes to the folks doing the work.

Their website has instruction about how to reserve and maintenance updates. Their app is very slow and sometimes can't book a session with the punch pass. The web portal works better than the app actually. Locker room is pretty old and you need to bring your own locker. Redmond pool is much much newer and I wonder when an upgrade will be here. Staff are young and friendly :)
