I LOVE Hasselbachs!! The family is super friendly&always treat us like their own-giving us suggestions also! When I first started going there in 2001 I thought all their meat was free range and chem free/conscious-think I was wrong BUT I do know they try! They just went off the grid and built a huge windmill which I think is a very conscious move! I strongly recco if you are near and desire QUALITY meat drop on in,grab a number and take your time looking in the cases;) Bon Appetit!

I had them process 107 pounds of hanging beef which they weighed and confirmed. I got back 44…read morepounds of processed meat. The T bone steaks were under 6 ounces and less than 1/2 inch thick. The Porterhouse steak was the same outcome. The roast we got were all under 2 pounds each. The hamburger amounted to only 13 pounds. It took them over a month to process which makes you wonder. Make sure you take a scale and ask for processed weight and measure steak thickness with a tape measure. I would also require a printout of the processed weight on the receipt when you pay. I would not recommend them at all!!!!

This one is the only HoM I've been to, but since the first visit, I became an instant fan…read more I won't speak for all different sorts of meat they offer there since it's only a very few select meat I visit them for, but the ones I do get have been nothing but great for in my personal experience. To start off, it's not a very big market. They have a small bread section, a small produce section, a row of freezers for packaged frozen food, a small deli section, a row of canned goods and some beer and wine. Obviously, their crux is the meat. They have plenty of different cut/prepared raw meat you'll need for your cooking, as well as prepped meat for you to throw on a grill or oven for a quick dinner. We're a small family of three and I don't like to keep frozen meat at home. So having HoM nearby so that I can visit them for a very small portion of meat I need for everyday dinner cooking is great. I've used their ground beef, ground pork, pork chop, beef skirt steak and a few other novelty items and they've all worked out great. Similar to Trivia N's experience, I however, don't necessarily like their deli quality or selection. I much prefer to go to nearby Kroger or Meijer for the broader choices. Most of the time everyone is very friendly although I've run into a few with no personalities. After a handful of visits, I haven't found any alarming reasons to dislike them. In fact, I'll probably be going tonight to pick up a few pounds of beef short ribs to make dinner.

Loved this store since it was located in The Anderson store…read more Quality meats at fair prices. Remember you get what you pay for.

Who doesnt like a good steak?…read more If you're like me and have a jones for a good steak it doesnt get much better than House of Meats. I'm a meat snob. I used to work in a meat dept in one of Toledo's finest stores. I was taught in the course of my employment what to look for in a steak, and what not to look for. Price is not one of them. You have to spend money to get good meat. Or so I thought. House of Meats routinely puts NY Strips on sale for 3.99 for an 8 oz steak, and the nice thing is you can buy only one, or you can get a pile of them. They come with optional seasoning added free, of course. If you want something more they offer the 16 oz for a mere sawbuck. They also have a full line of chicken, but like the place I used to work they don't do fish. Trust me, you'll never miss it. Lastly, any meat market can give you good meat, that is if they're worth their salt. House of Meats has one thing going for them that few places can offer. People. Their people are friendly and eager to help. Need a suggestion? They're right there with about 1000 ways to cook what you just bought. They have a line of groceries, not a whole lot, but stuff you may need to make your dinner a winner. I will drive miles for a Lee Williams steak. Even from Detroit. That says a lot.

Very rude customer service from the moment we walked in the door, til we checked out. Deli counter…read moreto the cashiers obviously do not enjoy their job. Never going back. Hostile spot.
