The place looks really nice on the surface but I'm not sure how clean their tools are, they look like they have stuff on them and the scrub brushes they use to scrub under your nails are apparently not replaced in between customers, I don't know if this is standard practice but it seems kind of gross. The people working there also are not very professional, obviously talking trash about customers right in front of them and taking personal phone calls in the middle of doing a manicure. The biggest thing that got me was last time I was there the person doing my nails said, "oh our system is down, can you pay by venmo?" But I paid her individually and not the salon. Again not sure if this is standard or above board but it seemed shady to me. I probably won't go back, the price just doesn't seem worth it for the service you're getting. read more

I made an appointment for 4:15 and I was asked to wait. At first I politely obliged but after waiting over 40 minutes I was annoyed about the experience after an already bad day. Not the relaxing thing I was looking for. The business clearly does not keep track of online appointments and becomes overwhelmed easily taking on too many people who don't have appointments. If I could give zero stars I would. I went for a dip manicure with my friend. My friend picked out a dark red color and when they brought out the dip she asked if that was the correct color, because it was bright pink. The owner and the nail technician ensured her that the dip would get darker as she put on more layers. We obviously aren't nail technicians so we left it at that. My friends nails came out hot pink and she was mortified because it looked like a little kids manicure and we had plans for that night. I was fine with my manicure, I was upset at how short she had cut my nails (and so was my friend, all of hers had an odd shape) but we decided that it wasn't worth it so we paid and left. I thought that was the worst of it but then my nails started to chip not even 48 hours later. Safe to say we will never be returning. read more

I found this adorable place after going to the one on Mass ave for years and the smaller crowded one in davis. Cindy was lovely and painstaking. They had only one other customer and I never felt rushed. The hygiene was precise but it was not scented which makes me allergic. Simple and clean and careful ! read more

My friend and I made appointments here a week in advance, but when we showed up at our appointment time (10 am), the studio was dark and locked. We tried calling, but nobody answered. We waited about 10 minutes, but nobody showed up. We later received a call from the studio apologizing because there was train traffic. I understand that transportation (especially the MBTA!) can be unreliable, but a business should really open at the designated time, especially when clients have scheduled appointments. We were looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately we had to go elsewhere. read more

The poor reviews speak for themselves- seems to be a common theme of poor time management and horrible service. Called prior and scheduled an appointment for a gel manicure at 5:15. Arrived at 5:10. Seated at 5:30 for gel removal. Sat around waiting until 6 when my foil was taken off and polish half-assed removed. The woman assured me it would be "just a few more minutes" as she sat down to start on someone else's gel manicure. I walked out at 6:10- almost an hour after my appointment time. The woman apologized and offered to take me as I was walking out (and drop her current client) but I was so frustrated at that point. Had to go home and fix my damaged nails. I like the way the place looks. Modern new and clean. I liked that they had a big TV turned to the news. I liked the comfy massage chair I got my pedicure in. I did not like my actual pedicure at all. They did not remove all of my cuticles, The polish was applied looking streaky and thin, no nail file was used and all edges were left unpainted. I made a same day appointment for a spontaneous, rainy day pedicure at Belle Nail Studio. Was happy to be fit in and even happier once I arrived and was seated immediately (it's a pet peeve of mine when you make an appointment and still end up waiting a long time). It was a solid, basic pedicure and the pricing was also super reasonable ($28+tip). Can't speak to gel or other services, but I'm satisfied with my pedicure and would definitely go back for a mani or pedi. read more

The website shows off a minimalist salon and it looks professional from the outside. I went as a walk-in on a Friday night without an appointment. I am not sure if the tools that were used were clean, the techs were busy chatting amongst themselves, the manicure was just okay, pooling polish. Just because the decor is nice looking does not mean that the techs are more professional. I'd rather go to Jojoba in Arlington Center where they are friendly and clean. Disappointing. read more

I would not come here if I have another choice. I need my nail done so bad after having my child. This place is just boring and had skipped so many step when doing my nail. The worst is no paper towel to dry your hand only a hand dryer!! And when the tech put lotion on my hand and gave me a massage, she only put the lotion in my palm and not even rubbing the lotion all over my hand. All my fingers are all dry and dam after her filing it. And continue to use the same cotton and towel is just not clean at all. The tech seems just wake up, and paying attention to her phone because someone texted her and her eye were staring on her phone message rather paying attention to my nail. The most ridiculous experience I've had around here in terms of nail salons. I walked in and asked how long until I could get a gel manicure and she said 20 minutes. 3 people walked out and still I was not served. I decided to wait 40 minutes to give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a busy time and after 40 minutes I asked how much longer. The woman told 30 minutes which was longer than the original time I was told not to mention I'd already been sitting patiently for 40 minutes. Absolutely absurd. I had a really good mani pedi here! I came close to closing time and they still took me, and they weren't rushing it either. They were very gentle with cutting cuticles and all that, and gave a great foot/leg and hand/arm massage. The atmosphere is very nice and clean, and the chairs are very comfy. I went to this nail salon because my friend highly recommended Lin to do my acrylic set. After work I stopped by to see if they had an opening and told them I was looking to get my current acrylic set filled or taken off (depending on nail tech's advice) & my nails repolished. They told me they could see me and to return in 30 minutes. So I did. Here's why I'm giving them ONE star: 1) I returned after 30 minutes and still had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to see me. I get that things can take longer or unexpected things happen, but do not waste my time if you confirmed your availability to fit me in. Would've been glad to schedule an appointment for a later date. 2) Lin was not professional. When I was asked to sit in her chair she took my hands and asked me what service I was looking for. I reiterated what I had told them earlier, and she said, "Oh I thought you just wanted to take them off." She said she didn't have time to do my nails other than just taking them off. There was no personalization in my visit and I was treated as someone to squeeze in for increase revenue. 3) She used a dirty nail filer on my nails. No thanks. Additionally she treated me better when I had told her that my friend who is one of her loyal customers referred me, but this was AFTER she had mistreated me by wasting my time & disregarded what I wanted. Everyone please read this the nail salon below that is very new is the worst and horrible. They have one women that does acrelic set of nails and most and all the time you make an appt she is never there, so you have to wait for her, she has children and she lives further away, well if you can't handle a job and be on time and accommodate your customers then stay home. I went to this salon today my appt was at 1:15 pm and she showed up at 1:45 pm by the time she finished my nails I was out of there at almost 4:00pm just to have my nails done. I complained to the owner whom name is Henry and explained the sitution, which he was just giving me a run around and it seems he doesn't care either, After I even paid for my service which they shouldn't even had charged me. This is not how to run a business and most of the time there is only one women there doing nails. And other times when you go there and have other women they are on there phone playing games and when someone goes into this salon to ask to have acrylic set nails all the other women don't know how so they only have one person to do that and if she is not there then they wouldn't be able to help you, which this is a salon studio it's a salon they should have all services of what a customer needs to be done on there nails. I honestly would not send anyone of my friends or family here and I will make sure he doesn't get any business and I'm going to report him to the bureau as well. I went there with my friend to just have a relaxing day and it turned into a nightmare. I got the highest pedicure I could get just because I wanted to relax. I wasn't impressed with the prices but it is Davis square and I am the type that believes you get what you pay for. The pedicure was awful my feet looked worse then when I walked in. My toenails weren't cut my heals weren't scrubbed and when I told them I was unhappy I got treated like I was in the wrong. The women that was there called the owner and he ended up yelling at me and demanding me to pay telling me he would call the police on me if I didn't. As soon as I started recording how he was talking to me the women snatched the phone out of my hand and told me she would take it out of the technicians pay and I would pay for a massage. (Still crappy but I just wanted to leave at this point) I paid and left and I refuse to ever go back there. My aunts salon is right across the way and she even told me not to go there . read more

This place is just ok. While the studio looks pretty the service and experience are basically no frills. It's really basic, lacks customer service, and is not at all relaxing or luxurious. Gel manis take about 30 mins from start to finish (wait time varies...they also quote wait times that mean nothing. "5 minutes" can easily be 30). This is like an express nail studio, if you only have a little time during a lunch break this could be good for you. Good in a pinch, probably won't be your regular place. read more

Went there this morning for the first time. Nobody was in the salon. Two girls walked in right after me, they rushed EVERYONE. Very unprofessional. My toes are not even what-So-ever, doesn't even look like they filed them. I have had over 100 pedicures in my life and I would never recommend this place, they rush rush rush. Wasn't impressed. Not sure how clean the facilities are and the customer service is not great. I told the manicurist that I didn't want any pushing back or cutting and that I didn't want my feet scrubbed because I saw dirt on the file. She said numerous times it was all cleaned but I didn't want to risk it and she said I should just do a polish change for less, which I appreciated the honesty. In the end she ended up charging me the same amount for the mani-pedi combination. I recommend going to either Minilux or Bliss in Assembly Square. Both are much cleaner, friendlier, and the tools are used on you and only you. read more

Unfortunately I have twice booked an appointment for acrylics and twice shown up to be told that my appointment isn't on the books and the one person who does acrylics isn't there. First of all, let me state that I almost never get my nails done... I've gotten them done maybe a handful of times in my life so I don't have much to compare to. However... the salons I've been to before (or walked by) don't compare to this salon, after all I never returned to those places! Belle Nail Studio is making me seriously consider a mani/pedi as regular thing! The place is spotless, white and clean - but designed thoughtfully so it feels cool and modern, not boring. The massage chairs were an excellent bonus, but the service itself was amazing. I'm usually really ticklish but my pedicure was gentle while being thorough and came out looking great! My manicure came out perfectly as well. She was careful and did such a great job with the gel polish that over a week later, everything is still in tact which says a lot for someone that uses their hands like a craftsman! read more

I made a last minute decision to get a mani-pedi here and am so happy with the results. The nail technicians we're so nice. The color I chose was slightly more expensive, so the manicurist custom blended an approximate match that cost less with a layer of shimmer on top. It's beautiful, and they did the same for my toes! No extra charge for the shimmer. I'll be back for sure. read more
