We were there during matinee pricing so we only paid 9.50 each per person, not a bad deal at all. The course itself was meh, not much to speak on. The holes were all slightly similar variations of each other, and on the simpler end. But we still had a good time. It could use some "sprucing up" there was a golf club in one section of the water, and a handle railing that was completely wrapped in caution tape. As well as trash/items left behind by other guests along the way. It's a simple course, but it serves its purpose.

Terrible place. We started 20 minutes behind because of other golfers but when we got started (we…read moreare beginners and okay with letting anyone play past). We get to whole 4 and we start getting their attendants hovering over asking if there are 5 playing (My boyfriend and his friends are playing, I was a rider and the other girl in our group was a rider). I am an avid birder and I did get out of the cart on a few occasions to use my Merlin ID app and look at the birds myself but I did not play and the other girl in the group did not play. They also came to us with complaints from 4 white males who were behind us and did not ask on any occasion if they could play past us. They just called and complained. After that, 4 other attendants stopped us to complain about our speed even though there was not anyone super close to us and we had caught up to the next group. That same group of white males also hit down on us (saw us at the green and still launched golf balls at us with no warning) almost hitting one of the people in our group. After we were alerted of the complaint, we waved anyone who was behind us to go ahead and play forward while we took our time. I walked in to the store when we took our break at our 9th hole and before anything could leave my mouth, the man who was manning the little outdated store immediately started asking about why we're taking so long and saying we're taking too long and we took 3 hours for 9 holes when 1. we started late because of other golfers and 2. we were stopped on at least 5 occasions from their attendants to "talk about our speed" and ask if 5 people were playing when we had answered that on a couple of occasions by different attendants. I would also like to point out that there was an older black gentleman that pulled up to us after the complaint and acknowledged that this is racially motivated. I would like to point out that we were the ONLY all black group playing at the time and we saw no one else have an attendant come up to them to speak with them about their speed pr asking if their riders are actually playing. We will never come back and I hope that a golf course in the middle of DETROIT, one of the blackest cities in America, would not allow a bunch of racists to dictate their business. I would not recommend any people of color to visit this place and again, me and my group of friends, who have been to multiple courses over the past couple weeks and never treated this way, are never coming back to Rouge Park Golf Course.

There are also a ton of Canadian geese throughout the course. You should use a golf cart instead of walking unless you don't mind stepping into Canadian geese poop. Let me start off by saying my family and friends have belonged and loved Red Run for probably a…read moredecade now. However, my child had a recent experience there that did not sit well with me. My daughter and her two friends (also members of the club) went inside the clubhouse on a weekday afternoon for lunch. They were not dressed paticularly fancy, but they were also not in inappropriate or distressed clothes. Nothing they have not worn hundreds of times with me to eat dinner there. When they arrived, it was an obviously slow afternoon and there was not one other party inside for lunch. When three of them (19 year-olds) walked up to be served, the two hostesses gave them a rude look, then continued seating them. After they were seated and drink orders were taken, the two hostesses and waitress began staring at them from a distance, whispering and clearly pointing as if they didn't have the common sense to know how rude that was. After they had gotten their drinks, a staff member came up to them saying they weren't dressed appropriately to be eating in the clubhouse and had to leave immediately. Embarrassed, the kids left. Now don't get me wrong. I have belonged here for ten years and I am very familiar with the dress code. It is possible the kids were slightly underdressed. However, the way the handled it is what is completely absurd and unprofessional. Why would you seat them, take their drink orders, and whisper and stare before deciding they can't be served? It is so disgustingly rude. Second of all, I know for a fact when I come in with my daughter to eat in the same clothes, they never comment or question the attire. Why? Because it is easy to be rude to young people and get away with it. There was literally no one else in the club eating and they had to waste these kids' time by seating them, then deciding they didn't want to anymore. So gross and unprofessional. We pay for these kids to be members too, so the biased behavior towards mature and respectful young people is almost humorous. I hope the bratty female hostesses and waitress learn this is not the way to handle a situation. I've seen McDonald's workers with more respect towards customers.
