I always felt like the support staff would rather be playing on their phone than assisting me, and I would have a very long wait while I was in the office to see him. It would also take a significantly amount of work to get refills called it. I felt like I was bothering the staff to do their jobs. Then, two years ago I had an injury and made a 'first available' appointment, and was seen by Dr. Miller. Well, she was FANTASTIC! She took the time to listen to me and really was far superior to Dr. Veech, so I called to have my annual switched over to Dr. Miller. I had to wait 6 months to get an appointment, but it was worth it. I have been going to her for the last year and a half, and then I get a letter in the mail that she is leaving the practice. So now I'm leaving the practice too.

They were both extremely rude and showed no compassion. I have also had issues in the past with them twice failing to return urgent phone calls for 3-5 days and forgetting to order blood tests prior to when I showed up for an appointment. I have had friends express similar horror stories going to this practice.... They are extremely disorganized. I am looking for a new primary care doctor. Whenever I have an appointment, I don't wait more than 10 minutes to be called in. The people who do the bloodwork here are incredible. No fishing around for veins, they know exactly what they're doing. I've never had an issue until my last visit where they forgot to test for one panel I had asked for. While I was annoyed about this (they blamed it on being short staffed), I decided it could wait for another 6 months before my next panel. I would recommend this office!

So I re-dialed again at 4:08 p.m. and an automated service told me the switchboards were closed until tomorrow. The doctor was rude and passive, annoyed I couldn't give exact dates when I told him I can barely see the words on my phone but can give him the timeline. His attitude was abrasive and I asked for a female doctor which he snapped there were none just him and to deal with it, then a nurse ripped open the curtain and said "yeah he's the only doctor and he's already entered your room so you've gotta pay him. That's how it works" I will recite this exact review if I get a bill because I am not paying for negative attitude and people who are exasperated by my need for medical attention. I left immediately in tears and told the front desk how horrible the doctor and nurse were.tried to walk home unsuccessfully and people on the street thought I wa drunk and been assaulted from how upset I was on top of having extreme dizziness and nausea like vertigo. We have several members of our family with very specific health needs and Dr. Carl and his staff keep us up to date so we don't have to remember all of the details! They take care of it for you. Making appointments is as easy as can be. Prescription refills are always checked and evaluated and dispensed appropriately. Cathy is the lead nurse and she is always super organized and extremely helpful and communicative! Colleen is such a sweet and welcoming member of WellcomeMD. I always love seeing her face!:) Heidi is fabulous on the phone and great with communications. She gets the job done! But when it comes to your health, your relationship with your doctor, it's an intimate dynamic because it requires clarity and trust on the part of the doctor and patient. Dr. Carl is so relaxed that he puts his patients at ease immediately. He is thorough and goes through all of your blood panels with you one-on-one and makes excellent suggestions and also is complimentary if he feels that you are doing well. He will prescribe supplementation only if it is reflected as needed in your bloodwork. Personally, my blood pressure zooms up every time I go to the doctor. But with Dr. Carl, he brings it back to normal and puts me at ease. Obviously, my entire family and I are fans of WellcomeMD. I recommend Dr. Carl and Dr. Colfer to everyone I know! As an aside, we drive 1.5 hours each way, just to be a part of their practice. They are THAT good.

Despite an email at 9AM stating that the call would be in 1 hour, I've yet to be contacted. One can only ascertain that the $6K + in membership fees is meaningless to them if they expect potential clients to track them down to give them money. It also makes one wonder if, after forking over 4 figures a year, the difficulty in getting to a physician during non-business hours. Let's face it, if the first impression is this bad, it does not give hope for a positive experience thereafter. Although irritated after having my time wasted, I'm going to put this experience in the win column.
