Instead I was met with a male who's sarcasm was unnecessary. His unwillingness to help and down right rudeness was very uncalled for. Quite frankly he made me feel extremely small. I expressed it was my first time calling for advice and he proceeded to use a condescending tone to remind me of how uneducated with the process I was Prior to the call I did perform some of my own research through various websites but I figured why not pick up the phone and ask an experienced "professional?". Actually he was not professional at all. He went as far as telling me that it's because of people like me that liters end up at pet stores! Like really? WOW! I wondered if his comments were racially motivated which is not uncommon in that part of CT. However the treatment was just sad I wonder if he would appreciate someone talking to his wife, mother or kids the same way he spoke to me? Just a nasty human being! Shame on you for treating other people that way. I will never allow someone like you to deter me from learning more about what I would expect to be a positive experience.

So I called this place and asked if I could come and see them and to my surprise they really really are in Connecticut! I was thrilled! I went out to the farm and lo and behold, the most beautiful puppies ever! I fell in love with two and I only went there for one. There is no high pressure sale here, just time to sit and play before you choose or wait for the next litter. I met with Melissa, she asked me what I was looking for and brought out a few. Her own dogs are gorgeous and well behaved. It was pretty tough trying to choose. Beautiful grounds and a place to sit and play. I was and am so impressed with this place I absolutely love it and if I could I would move in! Thank you Melissa for helping me choose!!

We fell in love with the cutest Havanese and 3 days later she was ours. I will say we did our homework about her medical history, the breeder & most impressive was we were able to met with the Veterinarian that oversees all the animals there. Just so happened he was there when we were deciding. (We lucked out. When we purchased our puppy we were pleasantly surprised that everthing we needed was included in the purchase price...from food, vitamins, training aids, to crate, the chip & AKC registration. Should be named the "Cheshire dog store"…read more I was heading toward Cheshire to run some errands. I was low on cat food of a specific brand (Fromm). There are several good animal feed stores in the area, so I searched for one that stocked a specific brand of dry cat food: Fromm. I found this store online, checked it out, and saw that their website showed that they stocked Fromm dry cat food. The online photo, which is a stock photo that can be found on Fromm's website, shows seven varieties. I stopped at the store when I got to Cheshire. Aside from a quick greeting when I entered the store, I didn't have any interaction with the staff during my visit. The section dedicated to dogs was large, varied and comprehensive. I had some trouble finding the cat section. I went in search of Fromm brand dry cat food and finally found a single large bag and three smaller bags on a table. They were not the variety or size that I was looking for. I decided to leave. Their dog supplies are fairly good, but the forty mile commute to Cheshire Cat and Dog is a little long. I am heading to the local Agway to stock up on Fromm dry food for cats.
