Bella Vista Designs is incredible and made our wedding truly amazing! My wife and I are from San Francisco and hosted our wedding in Santa Barbara. We were in discussions with another vendor for fabric and lighting and had plans to do a final walk-through with all of our vendors. As we were driving down to Santa Barbara for our final walk-through, the vendor we originally planned on using for fabric and draping cancelled on us! We frantically called around and confirmed a last-minute meeting with Jake at Bella Vista Designs. Once we met with him, it was clear to us we should have asked them to help with our event all along. Jake was professional, communicative, and even informed us that the other vendor we had originally chosen was over-charging us! We cannot thank Bella Vista Designs enough for helping us and making sure our vision was executed flawlessly! read more

Bella Vista Designs transformed our family home backyard into the most magical wedding venue! Campbell was lovely to work with and brought our vision to life with string lights and uplighting that made the space feel truly special. The setup and teardown were stress-free, and everything looked absolutely perfect. I highly recommend Bella Vista Designs for anyone wanting to create an enchanting atmosphere for their event! read more

Bella Vista Designs has gorgeous rentals that fit our vision perfectly. Their products, service, communication, and professionalism were incredible. The structures, bars, and lighting we rented from Bella Vista were elegant and enhanced our venue as it was outside without any lighting or structures. Bella Vista Designs was a vendor I had always dreamed of having on our wedding team and I am so glad that they were able to help execute our vision. We only reached out to Bella Vista three weeks before our wedding. However, Jake and Christina expedited our quotes once they confirmed an open date. They did a wonderful job communicating with both us and our wedding planners right away to make sure we got the structures and lighting we wanted and they were willing to be flexible while we confirmed the look with our design team. They had many wonderful recommendations that enhanced the look of our events and our events were magical with the help of Bella Vista Designs and their rentals. Our guests would not stop talking about the structures, chandeliers, and string lights we had in our reception space! The install went smoothly and everything was beyond stunning and more than we could have imagined. read more

Jake, Alfredo and the whole Bella Vista team were amazing. I think I changed our order about 25 times and they were flexible throughout the entire time! We draped Pepper Tree Barn, added a lighting install behind the bar, added draping to our lawn tent and a chandelier. Everything looked impeccable. So happy we chose Bella Vista and that many of our vendors urged us to use them despite a steeper price than a few other vendors. read more

We worked with Bella Vista Designs because our venue, Santa Barbara Historical Museum, required us to contract with them. Bella Vista was the only vendor for lighting that could be used because the venue is a historical site and "the company knows the venue so well". When we began getting quotes for lighting packages, everyone was very nice and responsive via email. However, trying to get someone on the phone was difficult and my initial email was never responded to. Their website has little information about the packages offered, instead just list what they provide. It seemed like pulling teeth to get info about what is included in the packages. This info was offered when we received our quote and needed to put a deposit down. Leading up to the event, 9/27/19, our questions were answered via email and we even upgraded to the next package. The company reached out through the museum to offer a small discount to leave some of the lighting up because the event next day was going to use some of the same stuff. That was appreciated. Note: The more we visited the venue, it seemed like some of the lighting they were charging us to set up and take down was already there. String lighting in the courtyard to be exact. Day of event all lighting was installed and it looked wonderful. Except the lighting continued to blow the circuit breakers. Not once but twice!! Leaving the DJ to run off a generator for the rest of the night. There was multiple calls to Bella Vista to get someone to come out and fix the problem. The response time was slow. Not sure why this even happened if this is THE SOLE vendor, who should have the venue mapped well and know the ins and outs. And if the upgraded package put to much stress on the venue then they should have advised us or helped to make accommodations so that there would be no issues. As the bride, this was brought to our attention the next day with a detailed testimonial from our DJ. We went on our honeymoon for a little over three weeks. We came back and emailed Bella Vista with all the info provided to us. I hoped to give them an opportunity to explain or at least resolve our concerns. As of today I have not received a response back. There were two people who were copied on the email from Bella Vista (including Director of Operations) and not one single response. I get they have an in with the venue and they do fancy events, but I am still a customer who paid way too much for a service that was lacking in many areas. Word of caution for those booking an event at the SB Historical Museum and have to use Bella Vista. read more

The crew at Bella Vista Designs are FABULOUS. From start to finish, they are professional, conscientious, and innovative (and affordable!). They never cease to amaze me with their can-do attitude and absolutely gorgeous and creative design. The events at Santa Barbara Historical Museum and Goleta Valley Historical Society that I produce attract generous donors and they always say the same thing when they see their work, "Wow!!" I can't thank them enough for the hundreds of successful events (and the many magical moments we've seen)! read more

Bella Vista Designs did an amazing job for our daughter's wedding! Christina was professional, kind, extremely talented and very detailed oriented. She turned an already beautiful private estate grounds into a magical secret garden. I can't stop looking at the wedding photos. I wish Christina and Bella Vista Designs would come to Florida for every single event our family has! read more

I'm afraid I have to disagree with the other reviewers. Bella Vista did not complete the work we ~prepaid~ them to complete for our wedding reception in Montecito. Not only did they not complete the work, leaving us high and dry with an undecorated ballroom for our wedding, but they refused to refund what we'd paid them for that piece of work -- and this was communicated to us via a coordinator. Bella Vista didn't even return our phone calls!! They discovered their error 12 hours before the party began. If they'd simply replaced their tools from their warehouse down the street, or even offered an alternative from their truck or warehouse, and strung that lighting instead, we'd have been fine with the change. As it is, they showed no interest in the task at hand of lighting/decorating the room and they took undeserved pay. I would absolutely NOT recommend them for an important event -- especially a wedding. Hosting and paying for these events is stressful enough without working with undependable vendors who don't hold up their end of the bargain. read more

When planning an event on the central coast, look no further than Bella Vista Designs for all of your lighting needs! So easy to communicate with, professional and all around a great team to have on site setting up, running and breaking down events. Bella Vista Designs is the best lighting/event production company in town! I have seen their work at several dozen events and each one was impressive and flawless. From the office correspondence, to the friendly and hard working installation crew, nothing but professionalism and cool people. No job too big (like the Santa Barbara Film Festival), no job too small (like the time that they did three string lights at a small party for my parents 50th wedding anniversary in my backyard !) They work hard for you and will always work with you to make sure your needs are met and you are happy. Hands down, great company and great team. read more

Not only have I worked with Bella Vista Designs on multiple occasions, I have also had the pleasure of being a guest at many events where Bella Vista has created amazing lighting and decorations! Every year I look forward to the Opening Night Party at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival and every year I am given a treat for the eyes. Bella Vista's lighting and designs make the party feel like an A-List Hollywood Gala. At weddings and events, Bella Vista's lighting can turn a drab venue into a dream location. I have watched their crews set up many times and I can attest to how hard they work. The amount of detail that goes into setting up one of their designs is astounding. Trevor is a pleasure to work with and is always right in the thick of things. If you use Bella Vista, you will remember it forever! read more

Jake with Bella Vista Designs was amazing to work with for our wedding! We originally were planning to be married at El Capitan Canyon - we had everything set to have a full outdoor weekend event and Jake had helped suggest some great lighting for the areas we were using. A week before the wedding, the weather forecast showed heavy rain - Jake helped us completely redesign our lighting to be moved indoors and inside a tent for the weekend's events. He was always creative and innovative to maximize our budget. THEN...two days before our wedding, a storm hit Santa Barbara. Our site got an evacuation order, forcing us to completely change EVERYTHING. Jake worked with us in every step along the way to make things happen and help us completely rework our wedding lighting within 24 hours. He came to the new site several times and when the new venue wasn't able to accommodate a lot of the lighting we had previously ordered, he worked with us to make everything right. He was so great - we are so grateful! Thank you Jake!! read more

Bella Vista Designs did all of the lighting for my wedding, which took place at an outdoor ranch. We did several very long strands of string lights across a huge lawn, uplighting in the trees surrounding the property, and light poles for the catering and valet areas. The team was a dream to work with, and was extremely responsive whenever I needed to meet, discuss ideas or changes. Everything turned out to be absolutely beautifully, and I can't imagine having done the event without the help of the Bella Vista team. read more

We used Bella Vista for our lighting and audio equipment for our Oct 24, 2015 wedding. We got married at the SB Natural History Museum. If you're planning on getting married or throwing an event at the SB Natural History Museum (the one by the mission, not downtown.. that one is the Historical Museum), then I HIGHLY recommend using Bella Vista. Bella Vista knows the venue inside and out, and has a great relationship with the events manager at the museum. They know where they can and cannot hang things, where to plug things in, how many lights are needed for certain parts of the venue, etc. They have an intimate understanding of the venue that made my life 1000 easier by not having to go back and forth between them and the events manager at the museum. Lots of time saved there. Also, since they've done so many beautiful events there, Cristina was able to show me dozens of photos to help get my juice flowing on what we wanted for our wedding. She was beyond helpful and easy to work with- from finalizing the "look" we wanted, to walking me through all of the items on the invoice, to answering any and all questions that popped up along the way. We went with a rustic/bohemian/organic look, for those looking for a sense of the decor they can accomplish. In addition to lighting and draping for our reception, as well as mics for our ceremony, Bella Vista also supplied us with DJ equipment. One of our groomsmen is a DJ (don't we all have a friend that is a DJ?) and offered to DJ our wedding as gift (great way to save on money- btw!). The only issue is that he didn't have his equipment. Bella Vista and our DJ were able to work out what type of equipment was needed. Everything he needed they had, and at an affordable price too. All in all, beyond happy and grateful for Bella Vista. Thank you Cristina and team for helping us create a wedding better than we could've imagined! Everyone on your team was a joy to work with, and we can't recommend you enough :) read more

It's truly magical how the SBHM lights up with your added touches. Thank you for working with me to design a romantic and stunning atmosphere for my special day. I constantly saw people looking around, and as they complimented the venue, your name came next right after. It was beautiful, thank you. An added note: I finalized an invoice, which you quickly caught wouldn't actualize the vision we had for the evening... SO glad I listened to you. Lesson learned: trust the experts! read more

Trevor, Christina and the whole team at Bella Vista did an incredible job on our wedding- they even had to come up with a whole extra "rain plan" that we never used (thank god!) that they included in our proposal. Our wedding was at my parents house and they did multiple site visits, were extremely patient, and were able to turn our little garden into this magical fairy land. They also had creative ways to stay within our budget and were very honest about the extras that we didn't really need. Overally, so wonderful to work with and the end product was out of a dream. Thank you bella vista and Cristina for making our wedding lighting and sound dreams come true!!! You all are the best.

Bella Vista Designs set up the string lights and provided speakers for our wedding reception at The Narrative Loft. They were an absolute delight to work with and were very accommodating in terms of scheduling. Additionally, we found their services to be the most budget-friendly in the area. Since they are located right next door to The Narrative Loft, they have a good working relationship with the venue and were able to put the lights up before we even came in to set up for our DIY wedding, saving us so much time and stress. The twinkling lights looked beautiful and the speakers sounded amazing and really got the dance party going. We highly, highly recommend Bella Vista Designs! They'll make your event look and sound incredible! read more

Bella Vista Designs provided lighting for my estate wedding in Montecito, CA. Everything was beautiful. They hung and up-lit beautiful Crystal curtains, up-lit the trees and walls on the property, and hung giant stars from the trees. They made the entire venue look elegant and extravagant. Beyond all that they were friendly and very easy to work with. I cannot recommend them enough- I was so happy with their work! Thank you Bella Vista Designs!!!! read more

Bella Vista is a good company to work with. They did the lighting for my wedding at Bacara Resort & Spa on 8/29/2015 and they really knew the venue well. I had the pleasure of working with Jenna and we had a few discussions over the phone and via email and she knew exactly what we wanted in each area of the venue. The one minor thing I was disappointed with was that our contract was amended a few weeks before the wedding to add a wash to the spotlight on the dance floor but on the wedding day there was no wash. The look I ultimately wanted in the ballroom was not executed as agreed but the rest of the lighting was done really well and the various areas of the venue were lit wonderfully. Thanks Bella Vista for your services. read more

Used Bell Vista for wedding reception lighting. We had much difficulty in contacting and contracting with Bella Vista. I am sure this is due to the fact that the venue required us to use them, so they had no incentive to provide satisfactory customer service. The lights were up on event nite, so I give them 2 stars. Turns out the lights had been up from an event the previous night, but nonetheless we were charged full price for little to no work by Bella Vista. Good gig if you can get it! I would not use again. read more

It was a pleasure working with Bella Vista on a recent wedding in Ojai, CA. They were quick and thorough in the weeks leading up to the event which is a huge help while dealing with many vendors. As a local wedding planner I have used Bella Vista Designs for the past 10+ years. Trevor, the owner of Bella Vista Designs gives 110% to every event that we do together. He and his entire team care about the overall outcome and go above and beyond to make sure that each and every detail is perfect before leaving the job site. During events if I don't have an onsite tech, but if a question comes up I am always able to reach Trevor or one of his team members. I feel at ease knowing that Bella Vista Designs is running our power, taking care of our lighting needs and draping our structures. The items that Bella Vista handles are anything from heavy duty truss systems and major moving lights and sound systems to simple up lights- I find that Trevor and his team take the same amount of care and concern for each and every event no matter how big or small it is. I highly suggest them for your event light, sound and draping needs. read more

I have had the pleasure of working with, and getting to know, the entire "Family" and team of Bella Vista Designs over the past 16 years. They are my number one, go-to lighting and event production company. They are always friendly on the phone, quick with their proposals and efficient with any and all correspondence. I have even annoyingly texted their personal phones during out of office hours and received responses to my frantic questions. They work extremely hard to ensure that all of my events are done well and thoroughly. If there is ever an issue, they immediately send someone out to correct the problem. The owner, Trevor, has even driven over an hour out to a job-site, to personally ensure that my event was taken care of. I have gotten to know their setup crew well, and they go above and beyond in horrific wet weather, summer heat, muddy and dusty grounds. They even help with things that tent even their job sometimes! They are amazing at what they do and I highly recommend them! read more

Trevor and his team are more than fantastic! They are utterly professional and their products and knowledge are top notch. Although they are a very busy company, they make time to attend our local hospitality industry events and are willing to service Ojai and Ventura too. If you want to make a statement with lighting, staging, etc, or just need some string lights, they are a one stop shop. Give them a try and get ready to hear rave reviews from your guests on how impactful their effects, lighting and draping can be. I highly recommend them. read more

Bella Vista is *amazing*. I can't believe others haven't yelped them! I worked with Trevor on my wedding and he was everything you hope a wedding vendor will be: Nice, Professional and 100% capable and dependable. His prices (while not at all cheap) were reasonable, he worked with us to find good lighting within our very limited budget, he never tried to sell us things we didn't need, he was nice and helpful and totally competent. He threw some free cords and random things we needed but didn't know where to find and when we couldn't decide if we needed a tent (every web site said it would rain) it was Trevor that gave us the best advice. (Not to get the tent. And he was right! We saved 5k and it was a beautiful clear day and night.) They are just total pros. read more
