    14" Cheese and pepperoni pizza

This is the best pizza we have had at Lauderhill-by-the-sea. We got pizza and garlic rolls. The pizza has a sweet tangy taste. The garlic bread had plenty of garlic and was non greasy. The person serving us was friendly and the pizza was prepared fresh to our order. We will definitely be back!

Came in on a Saturday night with the wife as we were craving some pizza. Been wanting to try this for a while as it's close to home. Place was empty, looked like the one pie done had been sitting for a while. We ordered a medium for the two of us, they made that fresh, so not sure if they sell it by the slice. We did half meatballs/green peppers and the other just cheese. This way you get to taste the true origin of the pizza. When it came out, it looked really good. So we jumped in and it was great! I'm from Philly, so I've got a good pizza pallet! The toppings side was a 7.9 (in one bite scale) and the cheese side was 8.1! It's great comfy pizza! Nothing fancy or stylish, that's exactly what we wanted! Undercarriage was good and the crust was crunchy! Pizza wasn't too greasy and didn't flop too much. We were so glad we came in! The owner came and chatted with us too. She was so nice, made us feel welcomed. They are a family business and the family is from South Jersey. Makes sense that the pizza is good! I wouldn't call it NY pizza more like South Jersey/Philly style. They even have an Eagles plate hanging up. If you want comfy traditional pizza come and enjoy! We'll be back for sure! 5

Best pizza in the area hands down had the margarita pie last night. It was so good just got a plain pie and vodka chicken pie that were both lights out. Seriously, just a great pie awesome crust thin but not too thin and the ingredients top notch. The chicken Vodka was lights out awesome. This will be my new go to spot and its family owned so does not get better than that. Do your self a favor and give it a try you will not be disappointed.

This was a solid "good" (3 star) dining experience tonight. We've been on the search for a better pizza that where we used to go and this place had been recommended. So we decided to try it tonight as my husband was craving salad and pizza. It's on the north side of Commercial Boulevard near the seafood market. There are two rows of metered parking plus the free parking spaces that front the street. At the time we went, there was ample parking. When we entered this small casual restaurant there was only one other diner and another came in a bit later. Most people came and went during our stay by picking up take out orders. We started with their house salad to share. It was a large bowl of very fresh iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, and cucumbers. We got the sliced red onions on the side. We tried two of their dressings. The house balsamic dressing was very good. If you want a smaller salad, you can order their side salad. They have other varieties of salads as well. We chose their 14" pizza -- they also have 12 and 16 inch ones. It turned out a bit larger than expected. We got it with added sausage which was small crumbled bits. The pizza was decent. It was even better when we sent it back to be cooked a little longer. The thin crust became a bit more flavorful and the cheese hotter and more melted. It wasn't the best pizza we'd ever had, nor was it "just like New York" as we'd been told. It's hard to reproduce that char of a coal or wood fired 100 year oven in "new" Florida, but it doesn't mean we won't still try to find it. On the other hand, we both said we'd definitely come back. Prices were reasonable. Service was pleasant. And the food more than edible.

Stopped in yesterday for lunch at Bella Sera. Place was clean and honestly, looked like your typical small hole in the wall kinda pizza place which doesn't bother me because they normally have the best pizza. We opted to go with a large cheese and an order of wings. Wings came out first and they were fresh and hot! So hot there was steam coming off them like fog off a lake in the morning. I took my first bite and while the flavor was good, i found the breading to be a little mushy. I don't know if their fryer wasn't up to temp or not, but these could've been better. Then the pizza came out, and it looked like your typical football style pizza. I picked up a slice and it looked like it was a little undercooked. Took a bite and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. The sauce on this pizza was really good. I think if they turned up the temp on this oven, this pizza would've been better. The cheese was a little undercooked so it left a little bit of a rubbery feeling to it. Grease was there but not overbearing. In all honesty, it wasn't a bad slice it just wasn't great like some of the other pizza places close by. I would give it a solid 6.2 on the 10pt scale. All in all, i wouldn't mind going back again if i was invited, but i would probably ask for the pizza well done.

    18 inches pizza

If you are looking for pizza in the Lauderdale by the Sea / Fort Lauderdale / Pompano areas- you must try Bella Sera Pizza. Bella Sera Pizza is a small business with the BEST pizza; each pizza is handmade. When I am craving pizza, this is my spot. They also have calzones and salads. I like to call to order and pick it up. They make their pizzas within 20 minutes. If you ask, they will give you plates, snapping, parmesan cheese, and peppers. I could eat Bella Sera Pizza every day!!!!

After all the hype and difficulty getting in, I was very curious to see if it would actually live up to expectations--and honestly, it did. First, the cons. The restaurant is tiny. Like...teeny tiny. There's basically no standing room when waiting to be seated or picking up an order, so everyone kind of awkwardly crowds near the front door while servers and bartenders are constantly weaving around you looking mildly annoyed that you exist there. Eventually, people started gathering near the opposite end of the bar by the bathrooms because there was at least a little more breathing room. Once seated, the atmosphere is very lively, loud, and fast-paced. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not the place for a quiet intimate dinner. Our server also may have been having an off night because there was a bit of attitude mixed in throughout the meal. That said... the FOOD. Unreal. Absolutely worth the wait and reservation struggle. Everything we ordered was exceptional. The sweet long pepper, Savage Garden salad, and Bolognese pasta were all incredible. Then came the pizzas--the fresh tomato pizza ("upside down pie") especially was ridiculously good. The squash blossom and cold pulled burrata pizza was also delicious. To finish--because we weren't stuffed enough--the strawberry olive oil cake. A literal perfect ending to the meal. Despite a rough start, the food completely stole the show. Easily an 11/10 meal. Now I just need to survive trying to get another reservation for round two.

Our waiter was awesome, great personality, and good recommendations on drink and food choices. We had the pinkity drinkity and Ginny 17 which were both on point, well-balanced drinks. I had to do the veal bolognese which was very comforting and filling while my husband had a hearty sausage and kale panini that I found to be a little too heavy for my taste. I would definitely like to try more from their menu as there were a lot of things that caught my eye but couldn't fit in for this visit. I would try to find a less popular time, if that's even possible.

I liked it so much the first night, I came back for lunch the next day. That says everything -- and…read morethe honest review lives in both visits. Louie Bossi's on Las Olas is exactly the kind of Italian restaurant that earns its reputation through the food and loses a half star through inconsistency in service. I visited twice in less than 24 hours -- Friday dinner and Saturday lunch -- both times without a reservation, both times solo at the bar. Fair warning upfront: book a reservation if you can. I knew the risk going in and own that entirely. Friday Night -- Dinner I was seated at the inside bar near the service window, which also happened to be adjacent to the bus station where dishes and silverware were being cleared and disposed of throughout the night. It was louder than the ambient restaurant noise you'd want for a solo dinner. Again -- a reservation would have solved this -- but it's worth noting that a table placement like that is a mild disservice to the overall atmosphere the restaurant works hard to create. That said, everything else Friday night was excellent. I ordered the Limoncello Spritz, which is exactly what it advertises -- bold, citrusy, and lively. In hindsight it wasn't the ideal pairing for Cacio e Pepe, but as a standalone cocktail it was genuinely well-made. The Cacio e Pepe, however, was the real story. House-made noodles, perfect texture, flawless seasoning -- rich without being heavy, simple without being boring. It was a 10 out of 10 pasta. My server Friday night was outstanding -- attentive, warm, and checked in on me multiple times without prompting even as a solo diner. That kind of awareness is what elevates a good meal into a memorable one. Saturday Afternoon -- Lunch The Cacio e Pepe pulled me back the very next day, and it delivered again. Twice in a row, same dish, same result -- that's a kitchen you can trust. The service, however, was a different story. I ordered an Amaretto Sour to start. It never came. My pasta arrived first, and only then did the bartender realize she had never made the drink. At that point I didn't really want it, but I drank it anyway. When I was nearly finished with my meal, I ordered an Amaretto on the rocks and asked to close my tab -- and again, the wait was significant. Guests who sat down after I requested the cocktail and bill had their drinks ordered and made first. By the time mine finally arrived, I was past the point of enjoying it and simply wanted pay the bill and head out. A stark contrast to the Friday experience, and genuinely disappointing at a restaurant operating at this level on one of South Florida's most prominent dining corridors. (Pictures attached from lunch) The Bottom Line Louie Bossi's is a must-visit on Las Olas -- the food is the real deal, the atmosphere has character and charm, and when the service is on, it's really on. But the bar experience at lunch exposed an inconsistency that's hard to ignore. The kitchen earns a 5 every time. The service earns a 5 one night and a 2 the next. Averaged out with everything else, this is a strong 4-star restaurant that has the ingredients to be a perfect 5 on the right night. Make a reservation, sit in the piazza if you can, and order the Cacio e Pepe without question. You'll be back. Exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizza spot that clearly knows what it's doing. We started with the house salad and it absolutely delivered. Next up was the Margherita Napoletana with a side of anchovies. I'd put it at a solid 8/10. Excellent flavor and that classic coal-fire char. I'm already planning a return trip to try the traditional New York-style pie, which feels like a necessary research project. Also worth noting: a surprisingly expansive list of Italian wines by the glass, and all fairly priced. Dangerous in the best possible way. The name says it all. DNY stands for Detroit and New York, and they serve both styles with equal mastery. They also offer gluten free options and, even better, a full lineup of house made vegan choices. What really sets DNY Pizza apart is the level of care that goes into their vegan menu. Their vegan cheese, vegan sausage, and vegan pepperoni are all made in house, and you can taste the difference. They even make vegan cookies, and while the vegan ice cream is not made in house, it is still excellent. We ordered a New York style pizza with vegan pepperoni and mushrooms and a Detroit style pizza with vegan sausage, peppers, and onions. Both were incredible. The crusts were perfect. New York is foldable and flavorful, Detroit is thick and crispy on the edges. Choosing a favorite really comes down to personal preference. I honestly could not pick one. The vegan sausage was especially impressive, full of flavor, and the pepperoni was cooked just right. Next time the only thing I would change is asking for extra cheese. It was so good that I just wanted more. The sauce is just as good as everything else, and I recommend asking for a side of it for dipping. I usually leave some crust behind, but not here. Both crusts were so well done that I did not leave a single bite. A heads up. Seating is limited, and because everything is made fresh to order, expect about a fifteen to twenty minute wait. If you are hungry, call ahead or order in advance. Overall, DNY Pizza is absolutely worth trying. There are not many places making their own vegan cheese, vegan sausage, vegan pepperoni, and even their own vegan cookies. Give them a shot and let me know what you think when you go. The small bites were delicious and a great way to sample a personal recipe from the owner. The dish was a pear & cheese fiocchi (learned from our guide that the proper way to pronounce 'ch' in Italian is with a hard 'k' sound). The walnuts and hot honey, along with the housemade fresh pasta, really made this dish (though I couldn't taste the pear...palate isn't subtle enough I guess). Our guide had learned that it is the owner's Nona's recipe (just like the aptly named Nona's meatballs, which I want to come back for, along with their pizza). There is a large speakeasy in the back, which is where our group of 11 sat. As one would expect, they had a large selection of alcoholic beverages as well, many inspired from the Prohibition era. Although this place looked great, but between crying kids, and a couple poorly done menu items, they lost a lot of points on execution... Our server Tomas was great! Best part of the whole experience. When we got to see him, which wasn't often, because they were short staffed or something as he was also tending bar (where he excelled), and running to take care of everyone, all while being berated loudly by an older gentleman we had to assume was the boss. The food was where they could have made up for that, but sadly, it was all over the place. - Calamari were crispy yet tender, and perfectly seasoned breading, but the accompanying sauce was too spicy for almost everyone in our party. - Meatballs were decent sized, and though they presented beautifully they were dry and overly dense, with their sauce on the opposite end of the spectrum with almost no flavor, and sadly that matched the flavorless meat as well. - Pizzas were the star, creative and delicious though, with just the right amount of toppings but just too much char on the crust. Tomas really shone as a bartender/ mixologist though, coming up with imaginative cocktails on the fly based on our favored liquors. The ambiance is cool, and there is a really decent speakeasy vibe going on with the decor but maybe try it at night to see if that vibe comes through under cover of darkness, cuz today wasn't it.
