Ever since change in management. The food quality has gone down drastically , you can tell by how low the foot traffic is when walking into the restaurant. When I asked the owner if the food was fresh , She asked me with an attitude. What is fresh? We all know what food especially Italian food should be cooked fresh. Food was very greasy. Our plates had to be sent back because we were given unwashed dirty plates. The crust for the pizza had good flavor and was prepared fresh. Overall it was a decent experience. The only reason this has any stars is because of our server. She was sweet and apologetic and running her butt off since she was the ONLY server with several tables and tons of to-go orders. There was no AC in the building and we got the impression it had been out for quite some time. They were out of coke AND Dr. Pepper. We waited 50 mins for just 2 pizzas. We were on the verge of walking out when we found out our pizzas were just pulled from the oven. The pizzas were good and all the ingredients seemed fresh. BUT, it did not knock my socks off which I was hoping after waiting so long for it. I also had to chase somebody down for my boyfriend's marinara for his stuffed pizza. I don't care what anyone says, this is still my favorite local restaurant in the Lake Jackson area! I've always enjoyed the food (it's a comfort to me now that I haven't lived here in over 7 years) and is as tasty as I remember it being! The Tortellini Alfredo is still my go-to! They have a spicy Italian dressing for the salad that I don't remember existing previously but I loved it and will order that next time! My partner hadn't been here before and he really loved the croutons We are vegetarian so we had very limited options and our server recommended that my partner add bell pepper and onion to the Alfredo sauce in his Ravioli Alfredo dish and he was super satisfied!! He's Indian and prefers to have bold, flavorful food so this recommendation was perfect to add some nice flavor to Alfredo sauce. Not a bad Italian place. Houston doesn't have the best Italian food (I'm literally comparing to New York and Italy so I get I'm pretentious...) so I hardly ever eat it because I think I could make it at home. This is what I feel about Bella Roma. I got the ziti bolognese and it was good but nothing special and that I couldn't make. But overall we had great service and the price was very cheap- $7.99 for pasta, bread and a salad! What a great lunch deal. Placed my take-out order at the counter, the gal was very friendly and helpful. Decent prices. The cesar salad was bagged mixed greens with a cup of cesar dressing, come on guys, at least chop up some romaine lettuce. The garlic cheese bread wasn't too bad, the pasta trio was decent, but the bread that came with the meal was very good. Been here a few times they food is much better during lunch for some reason. And over times has gotten worse. I bought a desert to go with dinner last night got home and it was NOT as expected. I had ordered a pasta to go, it comes with salad. I got home and the salad dressing container must have holes in it. The dressing spilled all over everything and they weren't careful with the pasta laid because it was all inside of the pasta. Not to mention that when I called to place my order I asked for cheese. Italian restaurants typically come to the table and offer cheese since my meal was to go I simply wanted my cheese to go... they save it for my spaghetti they typically don't offer cheese but asked me if I wanted a side dish of cheese. I'm very confused at that point. I'm not sure of what that would be but it sounds like I'm adding on more to an order. So I tell them let me be clear. I'm not looking for queso at a Mexican restaurant or any type of large dish to make a different meal out of. I'm not looking for something to be given an up charge I just want a side of cheese it can be shredded cheese or grated cheese I just want cheese. He said he could offer me a 4 ounce for two dollars. I iterate that I don't need that much. I just need some cheese. He said well he can give me a two hour container for a dollar, so then I ask, well is is a 1 ounce container 50 Cent in that case? In that case give me 0.5 ounces that should be free. Of course he was quick to say no ma'am we can't give you that sorry but that's not an option that's not how it goes... Obviously they are discharging for reasons of charge. I didn't want to have to stop at the store for extra cheese so I decided to not be cheap and spend the dollar however I don't really feel that it is fair to have to pay for the same little bit of cheese that they would have added to your plate or offered you for free at your table if you dined in. It was def a waste of money to pay for extra cheese when the spaghetti was half ruined with dressing in it, and upsetting when the dessert that caught my eye in the case And maybe want to spend more money with them was not what I really got when I got home This place was better but over time I don't know. read more

My fiancé and I are here in Freeport on a work trip and we decided to try something local for dinner tonight. We picked it up and it was ready in the time frame they gave us which was awesome! Especially after a long day, no wait was perfect. Pros: My fiancé ordered the shrimp and chicken Alfredo which he personally gave a 10/10. I had the ravioli Alfredo which I also say 10/10! When I entered, first thing I noticed was the outdated decor and empty seats. It is a seat yourself restaurant, so I had the pick of the lot. The waitress was pleasant. I ordered the pasta sampler (lunch portion). It comes with bread and a salad. I asked for the house dressing, which which they have two. I got the tomato basil, thinking it was a vinaigrette, instead it was cold marina on top of iceberg lettuce. When the sampler came, I was hoping to be able to distinguish between the three...it was all baked in one dish. What is what?! Instead of clearly seeing the lasagna, Cannelloni, and Manicotti; I got a bowl of sauce, random chucks of cheese, and random pasta shapes. On a bright note, sauce was decent, but the meat tasted frozen. I give them a 2 Star for atmosphere, 3 for taste, 2 for presentation. read more

This was new to us since we live a town over. After eating at a chain Italian restaurant, we decided to try this place next time we wanted Italian. Staff was courteous when they saw how confused we were when we walked in. There's no sign that says to seat yourself. Atmosphere is a cozy dive restaurant with murals. Waiter was great. Food came out fast. Food is not gourmet but we weren't expecting culinary masterpieces. This is a good place to get your Italian food fix. We will be coming back! read more

It's been a while since we last ate here but we have always enjoyed the food until today. Granted we went after the lunch rush but still... They were out of Dr Pepper, only had enough cream for one order of Alfredo sauce. Since that's all my son wanted we let him have it. He said it was very thin and runny (it is usually thick and creamy). The chicken in both orders of chicken parmesan was over cooked and chewy. Both of our salads were turning brown and beginning to wilt. The highlight of the meal was the rolls. We'll eventually go back and try again but not for a while. read more

Lol the humidity and temperature inside was a bit hot especially coming from outside which is already hot! But for the price and that tasty food it's so worth busting a sweat out in there! I don't even know what to rate this place! atmosphere- We went at 10 in the morning so everything should've been nice and clean but. NO. it was filthy! The floor was full of dirt and the silverware was dirty. The paintings need to be changed or updated. It's kinda cute that they have paintings of warriors and Florence but it looks tacky and old. We got there sat ourselves down and nobody came to help us for about 8 minutes! I know they saw us because they were standing behind the counter looking at us. She finally came and took our order. They gave us bread which was GIANT. The bread was nice, warm, and fluffy...but....it tasted soooo bland! It had NO salt! I had to mix the butter and the salt to give it some flavor! We ordered pizza margherita and it came fairly quick and 8 slices for the 18". The pizza was good but a little undercooked. The BEST pizza I've had since leaving the Northeast! I moved to Texas from New Jersey about 5 years ago. I love it here, but really miss some of my favorite foods like real cheesesteaks, real Philly pretzels, Atlantic City bread, and most of all - real, honest to goodness Brooklyn style pizza. I don't get out much, and we live in a tiny town with not a lot of great retail food options close by. When I discovered Bella Roma on Waitr tonight, we just had to give it a try because 5 years of Papa John's and Domino's is just...not right. I am absolutely THRILLED with this pizza. THANK YOU, Bella Roma, I have missed my real Italian food so, so much! This is the best pizza we've had since our big move. Also, the garlic bread is AMAZING, and so are the meatballs - both are very homemade-tasting and delicious. The angel hair pasta, even though it took a few to get here, was not overcooked or mushy - absolutely awesome food experience. And Cannoli! It's been years, I'm so very happy about finding you guys!
