Garlic shrimp stuffed ravioli in alfredo sauce
    Madison G.

I made a reservation for this restaurant as soon as the books opened (January 2nd) for valentine's day. I had heard so many amazing things about this place. That the food was amazing, the ambience was great, friendly waitstaff. First of all, we came in 30 minutes early for our 7pm reservation. We went inside and asked if they had our table ready, which they didn't (which is perfectly fine understanding it is valentine's day and it is quite early for our reservation). Our waiter said she would come and find us when our table was ready. With nowhere to sit inside, we waited outside on a bench. About 15 minutes before 7 it started pouring rain. The outside deck is covered, but it was so windy and raining so hard it was blowing on us too. We waited for a while hoping she would come and find us for our table. Nothing. 7pm rolls around and we go inside to check up on it. She finally leads us to our table and it's wet (indoor table). She has to wipe it down and then gives us our menus. Our waiter seemed scared of us?? She rarely came to check on us, only when necessary. Staff was walking around so quickly they were brushing us as they walked by, and even blew out the candle on our table. The lights were flickering all night long. The table next to us were asked to leave since they "needed more tables". Salad came out, 50% of it was onions. Also the smallest salad i'd ever seen. And then my meal came out. about 5 minutes before my boyfriend's meal did. i included a photo of it. i ordered the garlic and shrimp stuffed ravioli in alfredo sauce. Tell me why there was FIVE raviolis. FIVE!!!! That's 10 bites of food minimum. And it didn't even taste that good!!! And that 10 bites of food was $25?? Are we being so for real right now???? I came to that restaurant expecting to have leftovers for the next day and instead left hungry.

Title: Delicious Stuffed Mushrooms - A Solid 7 out of 10! I recently had the pleasure of trying the stuffed mushrooms in Angleton at Giovanni's restaurant, and I must say, they were quite enjoyable. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate them a solid 7. The stuffing was a delightful blend of breadcrumbs, cheese, herbs, and other savory ingredients, which added depth and richness to each bite. While the stuffed mushrooms were undeniably delicious, there were a couple of aspects that prevented me from giving them a higher rating. Firstly, I found that the portion size was a bit smaller than expected, leaving me wanting more. Additionally, I felt that the dish could have used a touch more seasoning to enhance the overall taste. Overall, I rate the stuffed mushrooms a solid 7 out of 10. Had the absolute pleasure of having a first night waitress named Hailey and she ended up being a the rockstar of the night with food recommendations and help!

This restaurant has been a staple in the area for many years. I have only been there a few times now and all three times it's because one of my good friends growing up loves to eat there and when we make the time to meet up for dinner this is his go to place. we met up with another friend and had dinner there again recently. The restaurant is always busy and when you have a large party recommendation is to call ahead and make a reservation we did that and got seated on the patio. They had a huge party inside, and I think that slowed the service down this particular evening, as we waited a while to be waited on and for refills on drinks, we did order an appetizer of mozzarella cheese. It's lightly breaded and I assume deep fried square of cheese that you cut and dip into the marinara. It was good. I don't eat pasta much these days and as far as I can tell everything on the menu came with pasta even the what was described on the menu as ribeye steak that I ordered, the steak was very thin and just OK as far as flavor. I did try a bite of the pasta but I didn't like it. Let's just say the fellowship was much better than the food. I would probably go back and try something different next time because I know the food I've had them before I've really enjoyed, but I can't give anything more than three stars for this particular trip because of the service and the food was just mediocre at best.

Great food! Everyone enjoyed their meal only downside was they didn't have the spumoni I was so looking forward to.

What really turned me off from trying them again was that they had 10 people standing around the bar and check in and no one bothered to greet me. I finally asked where pick up was located and was directed to the bar. Mind you, they're across from each other so surely someone would have heard I was asking for a pick up order. Nope. I stood at the bar with the same nonchalant and umbothered response I received coming in. I finally waved someone down and asked for my order. I was glad to leave. Very unappreciative of customers and with subpar food, Italiano's you don't have the luxury to be dismissive of customers. I pass. And you should too.

We ordered a glass of wine and were told the business was under new ownership and the new owner didn't have his TACB license yet. I mentioned to the waitress (her 1st day) that we could byob. She and another waitress who'd been there for a while both told us that we could not byob. They stated they could be shut down if someone brought their own wine into the establishment. I'm pretty sure that's not correct, but we didn't argue with them. We had the spagetti and meat sauce and lobster stuffed ravioli. Both were okay, but not excellent. Also, he asked for Italian dressing for his salad only to be told they didn't have Italian dressing. How can you call yourself an Italian Restaurant and not have Italian dressing? My Cesar salad was a lettuce and tomato salad with mozzarella cheese. The only thing that separated it from a house salad was the dressing. If we go again, I think we'll maybe try the pizza. There should be no need to write an update. I see that my initial review was written about 5 years ago. This is about how they handle the transferral of totaled tabs to the credit card. When I go to the Houston area, I usually eat lunch at Ivett's twice a week - yes, it's that good. And it's doable because I tend to stay in their "Bay Area," which is south of the city near Space Center Houston and in the suburbs adjacent to large Galveston Bay. Here's what the deal is, and this happened last year and a year or two before that. When I get the bill, it's usually a number that has cents attached to it, thus an "uneven" sort of number. To this, I add a tip. If the final bill were to be $12.72, for example, I might add $2.28 to bring it to an even $15.00. (I've asked restaurant employees over the years if this is weird and they tell me they have customers who do this.) Fast forward to the charge hitting the credit card. In 2025, one charge went through a meaningless few cents higher and one charge went through without the tip altogether. I've never worked in a restaurant, so I don't know how the process works where the final bill is sent over to the credit card company. In this situation, I came out ahead. But that's not the point. I want the employees who were my servers to get their tips and get what I indicated on the copy that I signed. This same exact sort of scenario showed up a year or two before when I also visited twice ... with one lunch charge coming across without the tip. Another lunch charge must have been processed with an even dollar amount as the tip. Again, I came out ahead, if you even want to look at it that way, but I want the employee to get his or her tip. The price-quality-quantity here remains at 5 stars. That's why I have filed Ivett's away in my head. I've now landed on the pattern of lunch specials that I like in any given week - a chicken dish and the manicotti dish, so I come in for those. I did try the lasagna once and, since this is in the U.S. of A. and not fine dining, they use the thicker undulating sheets of pasta that I'm not a fan of. It's to be understood. It's what most Italian-American restaurants do. That dish might come in as a 4. I applaud Ivett's for being a small restaurant that is intent on serving its customers and its community. However, if the tip for that one customer's meal is $2.28, $2.74, or $3.11 because the customer is seeking to hit a "normal" looking final number, then it's $2.28, $2.74, or $3.11. And, if they don't enter the tip at all, then I feel bad because the employee didn't get their tip and it makes me feel cheap ... cheaper than I already am to some people. Fix this little clerical issue by instructing your employees how to do so ... and keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing you all (translation: y'all) the next time I'm in the area.
