Nick, Brent, Tim (PTs) and Dave (OT) were EXCEPTIONAL. They were kind, compassionate, and truly caring. Their professionalism was above and beyond. They worked daily to help her regain her strength and mobility. Even when my mom was out of the therapy sessions , they went out of their way to check in on her and have conversations with her when she was in her room or the activity room. I could observe how they treated all of their patients with respect and genuine concern for their progress. For patients that are well enough to participate, the Activities Team had daily activities to help them pass the time. I can only pray that if my mom is in need of skilled nursing again that I could get her into ICH. I know having your loved ones in a rehab or skilled nursing facility can be scary but don't hesitate to put your trust in ICH!!

My grandfather was placed here and let me tell you it was a complete nightmare! Let's start with…read morethe heartless care.....there are not enough caregivers per person to care for. My grandpa was given a necklace with a device to press when he needed aid to use the restroom or other needs and they wouldn't reach him for 30ish minutes and he would then sit there in urine and feces, when all he wanted was for someone to help him to get up and use the restroom. What if it was an emergency? What if he was desperate for help? They wouldn't get to him for half an hour or more! When he would go eat in the dining area they would take the same amount of time to take him back to his room, he would sit there for 20-30 min after he finished. I timed it a few times when I would go visit to see how long they would take. One time I saw a puddle under his bed and I told the staff he needed to be changed and they told me his cup of water fell, which was a complete lie. The staff is very heartless with zero patience. He was there not even more than 3 months and declined quickly while at the facility before passing. When I visited him he was scared and crying just wanting to return home. This was a place to help get him get strong and back on his feet but in turn the complete opposite happened. One time I over heard a staff member yelling at an elderly patient in the hall way. Once they realized I was there they quickly apologized trying to justify. His restroom would go a week without being cleaned, to the point that we started doing it ourselves at times. I was warned by a hospice nurse from the start to be careful there because they will try and get away with as much as they can unless you visit your loved one all the time and they are aware you're watching. Please beware sending your loved one here, do your research. If you do please visit them! I read in the comments that people were told to leave good comments so don't trust everything you read.

They did not check her records or ask the office to confirm before acting. I filed a formal complaint with the Department of Social Services, and it was found to be substantiated of both a Type A and Type B violation. This is public record and available on the DSS website. Additionally, neither my brother nor I were notified when my mother passed away. I learned of her death two hours later when a Sheriff answered her phone when I called, which was devastating. Dear Atria Del Rey Family "Staff," As we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, we can't help but think of the time she spent at Atria the past 7 months. Moving her out of our home into Assisted Living and entrusting her care to you was one of the most difficult decisions we've had to make. We would have loved to have kept her close to us, in our homes. But if you knew mom, you knew how much she enjoyed talking to people and keeping busy. It was that reason that we tried something different in our family - it was for her. As we struggled to let go of her care and learned to trust your staff with it, we saw her smile, laugh, and dance again. Because of her love of Atria and your acceptance of her, we kept her there. On behalf of our family, thank you for accepting her with her declining memory, for making her feel welcomed, and for loving her in each of your own ways. In the case of Oakmount of San Antonio Heights. We did the tour that really brought the Staff, Patients and facility into a light of excellence. The treatment that my Brother is receiving is far superior than the homes he was at. When he pushes his alarm they are there with smiles and concern in a way unmatched by other homes. The communication and knowledge of the staff from the receptionist, environmental Sys, Nurses, Kitchen staff, Grounds Keepers, and especially there highly qualified Maintenance staff who are incredibly prompt as was the case with Eric. We had just started moving in and i was extremely busy coordinating the move, when this young man offered to assist me with a TV that was coming the next day. And to my amazement he was there and had it hung in record time. Now i am a retired Engineer from three different hospitals and we couldn't have done that.
