Nuvo Room

Nuvo Room

North Dallas

Who knew that this chic venue existed among the furniture and design warehouses off 635?…read more I attended a charity event here recently and was pleasantly surprised to find a modern event space inside of the unassuming building. Designed with an all white palate, the space is large enough to accommodate a modest - sized event(under 200) while still feeling intimate. I believe the space is owned and operated by Creative Arts Catering so you are required to use thier services. Their food is excellent though so that would be a non issue for me. My only complaint was with the parking. There were only about 20 parking spaces directly in front of the building and the caterer had their delivery trucks occupying about 5 of those precious few (not a good look at a formal event). Definitely check them out if you're event space shopping on the North side.

We couldn't have picked a better person than Lilian to be our contact. She was patient with our many questions and changes. Even at the last minute, we had to add an 8 person table top and she had it set up in minutes and without disruption. Servers were flawless and the atmosphere received many compliments from the attendees. I highly recommend Nuvo for any celebration you may have. They will stay on the top of OUR list for future needs.

From the initial contact, Erin made me feel like I was Priority 1. She was always available, even the weird hours I had weird questions (lol). I cannot say enough about Erin and her team and how wonderful they are. I must personally acknowledge Charisma, Jakory, Jenny, Michael, and the ENTIRE Valet Team for taking exceptional care of my guests and me. These new friends have become new family now! One of the reasons I chose Sky Blu is because they do not sell food. This allowed me to hire my own caterer to personalize my birthday menu. The MAIN reason I chose Sky Blu was because of the amazing views of the Dallas Skyline. It simple does not get any better than the rooftop views! The room was excellent. It was the perfect size for the tons of stuff I had to bring with me for the celebration. The greatest benefit was staying at the same place the party was happening at. Did I mention we got a great rate too!!! Other reviews mentioned issues with paying the valet fees. The valet fees are cheaper than NOLA, so it wasn't an issue. As I mentioned, the valet team took really good care of our vehicles and helped with luggage. Tru and Sky Blu Rooftop Bar are now the #1 spot on my go-to list when I'm in DFW. Erin, I cannot adequately put into words how blessed I am for you helping me celebrate my BIG 50!!!!

The only good thing is the ambience! This place is literally inside a Tru by Hilton hotel. The view that is boasts off is only on one side, the other 3 side is highways and parking lots.

Unfortunately, I didn't see a sign by the next table (as we sat near the window) and I touched a heater grate against the glass (don't do that, VERY hot)...just recommend more signs. :)

This is more of a HEADS UP than a review. I had to experience it in order to understand it. Let me…read moreexplain.... First, I'm NOT a "member". I went here for the Thanksgiving Brunch. Prior to this, I normally Thanksgiving Brunch at the Gaylord Texan each year. Their brunch is $100+ per person and I wanted to give the Constellation Club a try. PRIOR TO GOING: I made reservations over the phone. No credit card needed. Dress code expectation is business casual/ Sunday's Best. I was also told they validate parking. THE LOCATION: Easily found in the Irving/ Las Colinas area in the tallest building there. You'll know you found it because of the Mustangs statues in the front. Quick hint... valet is in the rear of the building. I parked in the garage area and took my ticket with me... to get validated. The club is on the 26th floor. Security is there to make sure you go to the right elevators. THE PLACE: Coming off the elevators (26th floor), you're greeted by folks at a table. The place has very modern decor and nice views of the city. On a clear day, you can see downtown Dallas, Arlington, and downtown Fort Worth. If you really know your city, you can see the 635/75 area and City Line in the distance. Great spot for taking selfies or taking in nice views. Anyways... Someone pulls your reservation. I was asked to pay ahead of time. Four people at $60 a piece, I paid a little over $300. Apparently there was a service charge that I wasn't told about over the phone. I ask about parking validation and was told that it was for members only. After some back and forth and back and forth and even more back and forth, they made an exception and validated my parking. Keep in mind, I was told they were validating parking for Thanksgiving (over the phone). I'm big on accountability. The gratuity was technically included but you get the option to tip additional. I would have tipped additional had there not been a service charge. The way I see it, if I can be surprised about a service charge, they can be surprised that I wasn't spending additional money. To me, the service charge was their tip. THE FOOD: After finding a seat (you sit anywhere), you go to the brunch buffet. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Scrambled eggs that look like they were made with powder. Bacon, apple sausage, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, ham, turkey, and bland chicken wings. There was a separate room for deserts.... pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, etc. Overall, the bacon, mashed potatoes, and turkey were winners. Everything else was either bland or average. STAFF: The wait staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. OVERALL: It was a decent experience I did ONE TIME. It was also cool to find out what was in that tall building that I'd always drive by. WAS IT WORTH $60 ($300 for four people)? NO. Absolutely not. You have to keep in mind that besides the food (which was nothing to write home about), and the views of the city, there's nothing else to do. You're there to eat and leave. It's Thanksgiving and the area is a ghost town. It's not like you can take a walk and get into another activity. Coming full circle, this is why I mentioned the Gaylord Texan as a measuring bar. The Gaylord Texan validates parking if you eat the Thanksgiving brunch. You don't have to be a member. You can walk the resort and appreciate the decor... or participate in other activities. It's festive. Yes, the Gaylord is $100 per person but the food options are endless and taste amazing. I wouldn't do the Constellation Club again. I certainly didn't see the value in joining as a member. Definitely a one-time experience for me. I recommend going there for a drink (if they'll allow it) and checking out the views of DFW. If they want to keep it exclusive, let them have fun with that. It's not worth it.

The building looks like something you might see in Cape Cod or Coastal Maine - as I find the buildings in both places charming. This coffee house is all wood and painted white. The food catered from them was delicious and honestly made the event perfect. And Jillian was our point person for our event was spectacular! My event was everything I hoped it would be, and better. Here is my experience with them. 1) Portrait Bouquet. Simple task, right? Not for Bows & Arrows. Alicia must have forgotten to make it, because when I went to pick it up, it was not ready and she ran to the back, used last weeks flowers, and put something together in the wrong shades of pink, and NONE of the flowers I ordered were in there. Not to mention the flowers were wilted and dead. My wedding planner spoke with Alicia about her poor work and said that we would not be paying her until she performed to high standards at the actual wedding. 3 days before the wedding, she calls and says she has no flowers for our wedding and will not be doing it because she has not received payment. After much arguing with her, we payed her reluctantly and she promised to provide for us on the wedding day. 2)Wedding Day: First of all, I CRIED when I saw my bouquet. It was that horrible. The flowers were dead, wilted, and all wrong from what I had ordered. As I was taking pre-wedding pictures, myself and all my bridesmaids were having to rip flowers out of our bouquet because they were wilting and falling over. I was mortified that my dear friends had such pathetic flowers. Not to mention the bouquets were TINY and therefore even smaller once they started ripping out flowers. The alter arrangements were horribly lopsided as well. Ruined all my pictures.... I will say, her petals lining my aisle were outstanding. So was every arrangement at the reception. I gave her some credit for that. 3) Post-Wedding: Sent Alicia an email explaining my disappointment and hoped for reimbursement. I heard from someone in her office saying it was best if they never speak with me or my family again. HORRIBLE customer service. We are continuing to try... Needless to say, DO NOT USE HER! Find someone else!
