She lie me down and started with my temples and shoulders instead of my feet which I thought was weird, but it was my first time there so I went along with it. The room was humid, the water temp was hot, and her massage technique felt rushed, fast massaging, and inconsistent. It started with loud talking back and forth between her and another masseuse, the phone kept ringing, and she even left the room mid-session to answer it. Turned out she ended up giving me the 1hr body + foot massage, which I didn't request. When she realized the mistake, made me worried, and then told me there was nothing I could do and kept going. I was left concerned and uncomfortable for the next 30min. I had specifically asked for a foot massage, but the pressure was focused on the tops of my feet, not the soles where I needed relief. When I told her "lighter", she acknowledged it but continued with the same pressure. When the session ended, she left the room immediately without offering assistance. Being 7 months pregnant, I had to roll to my side, carefully sit up and slowly help myself off the high bed to grab and put on my socks and shoes, which was a bit disappointing. At the end, I was charged for the full hour. When I didn't leave a tip, she asked why, and I told her the experience wasn't good and I wouldn't be returning. On my long drive home in this heat and traffic, she texted me--after tracking down my number--to apologize and offered a $10 refund, but asked for my credit card info to do it and sent me 2 pictures. My phone dinged after another, she kept messaging, asking why I was dissatisfied. This is the reason why I was dissatisfied. Overall, I left more uncomfortable than when I arrived. The experience was unsettling, especially receiving anonymous texts afterward asking for my credit card information. I would not recommend this place, particularly for pregnant clients looking for safe, thoughtful care and focused relief.

I asked if there was any way to adjust my service, and I was told they would work with me and that the owner would call me that week to discuss a solution. On the day of the appointment, I received my facial (which was fine) and was told again that the owner would reach out soon to arrange something for the unused massage portion. But I never received a call. When I followed up afterward, I was told that because I booked in a group, they would not offer any accommodation--such as store credit or gift card--even after explaining my medical situation. Given that I personally spent $360 and our group spent around $1,800 including tip, I expected a basic level of compassion, especially for a postpartum mom with an ongoing medical issue. I wasn't looking for special treatment, just a reasonable accommodation for a service I physically could not receive. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with me given my specific situation was deeply disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spa. Let's just say that we enjoy Northern Thai as much as some of the massages we've had in Thailand. There are 4 options for massages - Thai massage which is stretching + massaging with no oil, Swedish which is a relaxing oil massage, Thai-Swedish a mix of the two, and Swedish deep tissue with oil and lots of elbow/forearm for pressure. At this point, I've had them all and highly recommend for starters the combination Thai-Swedish which is a nice mixture of assisted stretching into yoga-like poses with relaxing kneading/gliding of Swedish massage. The masseuses, though tiny in stature, pack a lot of strength and are able to expertly navigate the tight spots that need the most attention. One nice bonus is that they also have heated massage table pads which felt extremely nice during this cold winter afternoon. Be sure to call ahead for an appointment. I've hardly had issues getting a same day appointment. The only negative about Northern Thai is that they have noisy barber shop neighbors, so I recommend ear buds or plugs so that you can really enjoy the massage in peace.
