They shoved everything back in the bag all scrunched up without folding it at all. There is a sign in there that says they like to buy American eagle, they have so much American eagle stuff in there. It's almost like a full American eagle store. I don't understand it, that stuff is so cheap to begin with why would you buy it secondhand? My biggest problem with the store is the employee that rang me up was so rude. Honestly, this seems to be a problem all over the country with Plato's closet. I don't know why in the three states I've lived in the employees are consistently so rude. I recommend Fashion Cents Ephrata! They are nice, helpful, always greet with a smile, and they are so busy they take a TON of clothing and even let you know what you should bring back and sell in a different season! And yes, they buy clothing other than American eagle.

Organized, well stocked and clean. This site provides a vast array of gently used clothing and…read moreaccessories for all sizes and style preferences. The spacious floor plan is well kept which makes it feel less cluttered than many other thrift stores I've visited. Prices are a bit higher than I would have expected to pay for used items ($9+ for a used dress) Dressing rooms are stalls on the main floor that do not provide locks which makes for a rushed and uncomfortable try on experience for fear of someone opening the door- intentionally or otherwise. In conclusion, I would visit here again if all other options (ie. Ross, Marshals, Etc.) do not work out.

However, I have gone to this Loft about three times, and I would not recommend going to this one. The sales associates are snobby here. They never greeted me or offered to help me find anything, even though there were multiple sa's in the store and I saw them helping other customers. I tried on some pants and a dress, and they never asked how I liked the items or if they could get me other sizes. I thought this was a rare occasion, so I recently went back two weekends ago because they had a 40% sale. Again, I browsed the whole store pretty much, and not once did any of the sales assoc. say hi to me. I was a bit amazed, because I know I will never go back to that store now, and don't they want customers? I don't know why they are snobby and rude here, it can't be racist because I'm white. Who cares why, I just wanted to put it out there that I was not treated well at the Loft in Reading, and would not recommend going. Not only where they rude on three different times, but the quality of their clothing seems to be going downhill. If I wanted cheap shirts that are going to fall apart in three washings, I would shop at walmart. Just my two cents.

Now the layout of the store is bizarre and their whole Kohls Cash, scratch offs at the register, multiple discounts for seemingly everything from showing up at the right day/time to parking in the correct spot seems more like playing three card monte in Times Square circa 1978 than a normal retail strategy but past the games the fact is simply that this place has really good prices and selection. The lovely wife was scoring more than Gary Busey outside the Santander Arena at 2am on Christmas Eve. Several items were marked down 70 or 80 percent along with a wide range of size and color choices. I mean we're talking actual wearable clothing for $3 or $4 dollars a piece and really good name brand sneakers that were $70 for $35. I was ready to gouge my eyes out with salad tongs at the thought of coming here but the lovely wife found what she wanted which makes her happy and she found it in what I thought was record time which makes me really freakin' happy so I felt that we were winning more than Charlie Sheen. At some point we'll be back, I'm sure.

This review is based off my experience a few months back. I'm a tad behind on my reviews but…read morefortunately still have my notes. While thrifting in the area the furniture outside caught my eye. Although this store wasn't on my thrifting radar, once inside I had a case of Deja vu and believe I might have been here in the late 90's. Not really a thrift store, it's a bit strange in the merchandise they carry, as well as layout. There's room set ups consisting of used and antique furniture pieces, many priced much higher than they should. Off to the side is "buyout" type merchandise (think Ollie's) - which was reasonably priced. In the back were older items, well past their prime that perhaps were from a yard sale or picked from someone's curb on trash day. Further in the back is new, modern (although some a bit tacky) furniture that's cash and carry and/or rent to own. Even with the displays the space feels like a warehouse filled with stuff. Somethings were admittingly unusual (throne chair, suit of armor), but most were mundane or dated items you could get anywhere for less. There's a distant smell throughout like musk and mildew. The cashier/front desk had a pawn shop feel and I wouldn't be surprised if that's how some of the items were obtained. There seemed to be some "regulars" hanging out just for something to do that didn't appear to be making purchases. There's no one on the sales floor to assist you. So while I love thrifting and hunting for unusual pieces, this store didn't cut it for me. It's suffering from an identify crisis for one, and has too many things going on to really know for sure what it is - antique store, yard sale, salvage, etc. Prices were unreasonable for the majority of the items for sale, customer service non existent, and I wouldn't pay them another visit.
