A lovely hidden gem in St. Thomas! You are welcomed with chips and 3 kinds of salsa (which are $3, but I'd say it's well worth it). The menu has plenty of options to satisfy anybody. I had the quesadilla plate which was very plentiful and my boyfriend had the rice plate with chicken that was also very good. Prices were very reasonable as the two of us to eat (plus the chips and a a pop) was just about $45! Staff are very nice and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. She possessed no manners, and laughed right in my face and told me she didn't care about "my stupid bullshit" when I told her that I was here to celebrate my wife for taking care of me in the hospital, after one of her employees made her cry. Sad customer service, and they didn't even apologize that my fiance didn't like her meal. She was laughing at the mere fact that my fiance was crying. Karma is coming for her though. read more

Some of the best Mexican food, anywhere. Tacos, chimis, burritos... everything is fresh and super yummy. Ended up here by chance. Came in with no expectations. Didn't think much of the place. That is, until our food has arrived. On our next drive through St Thomas, visited the place again. The food was excellent, just like before. FINALLY. My quest for the perfect chips and salsa combo in this Canadian wonderland west of the GTA has been fulfilled. As an official, self appointed, Mexican food expert I'd like to thank Bella Jacks for making my weekend. The food absolutely delivers and made it all worth while. We dined on steak chimichangas and chicken tacos, went through about three rounds of chips and positively abused the salsa and chipotle sauce. Next time I plan to sit at the bar with margaritas and nachos. Crowded and popular, with cute cantina decor and pleasant music. It was a little dark in there, but that's par for the course with a "canitina" atmosphere. The only complaint is that the service was pretty "meh" and we were not well attended to at all. The wonderful food took the edge right off, but I can see this being a better "eating at the bar" experience than romantic restaurant dining date night. Other reviews seem to reflect a similar experience so it might just be based on staff and who is available to work. I highly recommend this place if you want as real chips and salsa as you can get up here in London/St Thomas. read more

Everytime I go to Bella Jacks the service and the food is excellent. Everything on the menu is fresh and homemade. They bring 3 different types of salsa right to the table and the menu is full of all your favourite mexican dishes and then some. And they also have great burgers and a great kids menu for the none mexican eaters. A great place for drinks and nachos. And they have great lunch time specials. The owners and staff are super nice and will make sure that you will come again. :D read more

Gave the restaurant another chance for a special occasion. They did not accept reservations for a group of 8 on a Saturday. Ended up waiting 30+ minutes for a table. All the food seems to taste the same and doesn't seem fresh. They ran out of Sol beer...on a Saturday. Not cool. Will not be returning. read more

A group of us went here last week for first time. The atmosphere inside was just ok, I thought the tables were too close together, for the privacy we like. Although there were 5 booths along 1 wall that appeared a bit more private, but small. The whole place is small, it filled up quickly and then it was quite loud, hearing music might have been better than hearing everyone's conversation. BUT... the service was A+ and the food was A++++. First of I've never wrote a review before but really feel the need too. I came into the establishment yesterday for dinner with my boyfriend. We drove from London and all i could do is rave to him how good this place was as i ate there once before and loved it! When I finally finished my busy day at work (I am also a server and have been for 10 years..) we drove to St thomas. We got seated right away and order a beer and margarita. For dinner we ordered a bowl of the tortilla soup, chicken quesadillas and a grilled veggie burrito. We started with a soup which was incredible but when the main dinner arrived I wasn't crazy about my burrito. It was full of celery and carrots.. and a couple pieces of broccoli and cauliflower. I wasn't expecting it at all, not to mention it was not seasoned. It tasted like the beginning to a soup recipe, i couldn't believe how much celery was in it. We mentioned this to the waiter who insisted that's how it came and then left our table to chat with staff and giggle. I felt super awkward and just ate the beans and rice and my kind boyfriend shared his quesadillas with me. I maybe took two bites out of the burrito. I was so disappointed and asked for the bill. The waiter brought the bill and told us she cant take our meal off and offered us deep fried ice cream for free! I was so unimpressed...I didn't get her name but she was tall with short black hair.
