We went to the front and ordered the butternut squash ravioli in butter sauce and their lobster roll special. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe, we perused the oils and vinegars while we waited. The lobster roll was a flop. Dry lobster on top of lettuce barely warmed on a non toasted hot dog bun. It's a ravioli shop, so I didn't have high expectations, but figured they have worked with lobster before so I had higher hopes The ravioli we got were also a pretty big flop. Raw uncooked pasta in broken butter sauce and no seasoning. The butternut squash filling was puréed to heck and reminded me of frozen butternut squash sides you buy from the grocery store. Not bad, but lacking. The fries and onion rings were good. Bagged but good quality, the highlight of our meal. The staff were friendly, and the space was small but cozy. I highly suspect the faults of the kitchen are mainly due to them not having dine in orders frequently. I would stick with the prepared pastas and make whatever you buy at home.

My favorite purchases were the fresh cut egg linguine and the Ritz-based stuffed cod. The fresh linguine cooks in a minute and the texture just hits different in the best possible way. The cod was nice and firm and the Ritz stuffing was crazy delicious. I also liked the Chicken Francaise. You can't really compare it to restaurant quality Francaise because it's specifically made to be re-heated and eaten later. With this in mind, I though that the small chicken pieces and lemon sauce were very solid. My other purchases included clam chowder and Tuna Mac Salad with peas. The Tuna Mac was pretty good. It wouldn't be in regular rotation for me, but I'd get it once in a while. The clam chowder was my least favorite, but I respect that New England Pasta seemed to go for something different. The texture was good and it had plenty of clams and potato. But it tasted like it had a little blue cheese flavor. I can't say for sure that they used blue cheese, but the chowder definitely had something different that gave it this vibe. For me, this flavor was a bit too assertive. I don't live near New England Pasta, but if I did, I would visit once in a while. Four Stars

There are my favorite dry pastas which includes pappardelle, fettuccine, linguine, spaghetti and capellini. The frozen pastas that are totally irresistible are their spinach manicotti, cheese ravioli, lobster ravioli, and cheese tortellini. My newest favorite item is their homemade marinara sauce that can go up against anybody's grandmothers' recipe. It is divine. All good chefs know that perfect meals begin with the best ingredients. Even though it came frozen, once I baked it, it tasted like something I had just made fresh at home. The chicken was delicious and that sauce was ON POINT! I loved buying those when I lived in NYC 25 years ago. Haven't found at any Italian bakery since then now that I live in NC and it was a nice surprise! Coconut and almond cookies were really good. If I could offer any advice, have lavender, pistachio and other syrups for the lattes :)
