First... A HUGE Thank You to Cait for fixing the butchery the previous salon did on my hair!…read more I posted in a FB Group for recommendations on getting a V cut. There were so many recommendations I decided to give a salon a try based on a person's experience and because she gets the same haircut. BOY was that a mistake. I almost cried when I saw the end result. So went back to my post in hopes that I'll find someone who can fix the f**very cause this is bad! Called Shertz Salon and Spa based on Caitlyn's response to my post. I explain the situation and sent her the before and after picture. She said she'd take care of me. She did an excellent job! I'm so glad I went back to my post and found her! My daughter and I found our new stylist and I love her! So I looked on yelp read some reviews and decided on Schwartz Salon and Spa. And by my surprise there was an evening appointment available with Chelsea. She was very lovely kind and caring. Updating my review :…read more I saw her last year when I wanted my hair trimmed for my wedding . I was so excited to see her again after 11 months of not getting my hair cut due to having a crappy job who worked me ragged. But on the day of my appointment , she sent a confirmation text at 9:06 am and my appointment which was at 10:30 am . She cancelled the appointment at 9:58 am, no warning about this policy or anything, not a " hey, look out for a confirmation text " etc. I'm a person who barely has the time to take care of myself . I am also a new mother , and now that I'm on maternity leave, I thought I could finally get a haircut . The reason why I was unable to answer her text was because I was breastfeeding my baby, burping him and then giving him to his father so I can leave to get to my appointment on time . I arrived at 10:20 am and that's when I looked at my text messages . My phone was also on silent so it wouldn't disturb the baby. I pleaded with her and all she said was that she was sorry . If I only knew about the policy or if a confirmation text was sent at least a day ahead I would have confirmed . I am now crying in my car , maybe it's the hormones I don't know . But the fact I am being punished for other people not showing to her appointments is ridiculous . I don't know how someone can be this cold hearted to a customer .

I had a disappointing experience with this salon. I drove an hour each way for a color consultation…read morethat lasted only about 10 minutes. Before my appointment, the stylist had told me that she would perform a color swatch on my hair to assess whether my desired color could be achieved. However, the color swatch was not performed. The stylist assured me that she felt confident she could achieve the color, while explaining that she would stop the service if my hair showed any signs of damage. The stylist recommended a partial balayage, and I scheduled an appointment with her. When scheduling, I asked about availability, and she told me rather bluntly that she "did not work Saturdays." While her tone wasn't the nicest, I understand not working Saturdays. After reflecting on the overall experience, and deciding that Saturdays are the most convenient day for me, I later contacted another stylist at the same salon who appeared capable of achieving my desired color. After consulting with the original stylist, the second stylist indicated that she could perform the service, and said she was "excited for the appointment." When I contacted the front desk about scheduling with the second stylist, the receptionist told me that my original stylist would actually be working that Saturday. This was frustrating, as I had specifically been told by the original stylist that she did not work Saturdays. I proceeded to schedule with the second stylist, who was planning to do a partial highlights rather than a balayage (what I typically have done). The difference in service and price was not my concern; my priority was finding someone who could achieve my desired color. I subsequently received an email from the salon canceling my appointment because they did not feel they were the best fit for my hair goals. I responded to that email but never received a reply. I understand that a salon may ultimately decide that a client's goals are not the right fit for its services. However, the initial assurances about achieving my desired color, the failure to perform the promised color swatch, the conflicting information about Saturday availability, and the lack of communication after my appointment was canceled made the overall experience frustrating and disappointing. I would have appreciated greater transparency and more professional communication throughout the process.
