So I had planned for a balayage service that I knew would take 4-6 hours and made sure to take the day off work just for this appointment. When I arrived, the stylist told me she didn't have time to do my hair, and instead began explaining her personal situation and didn't want to rush on my hair. While I understand things happen and stuff comes up, it was really frustrating and disappointing to have my time disregarded especially when I had arranged my entire day around this service. She offered to reschedule but I just got my deposit back.

She knows her stuff and when I leave her shop my hair feels amazing. If you have thick natural hair I highly recommend Arnisa. I have visited this salon twice and here…read moreare my reviews of each visit. Visit #1: My first initial appointment was Arnisa being that I found her on Instagram she really impressed me with her work. She did such a wonderful job and she took great care of me. I felt so comfortable and welcomed with her I sent her a few referrals and they loved her as well. Visit #2: My second visit to the salon I booked with soiban and unfortunately I got her student assistants. It was the worst experience ever. The assistants did not have enough experience. They washed and conditioned my hair but they skipped detangling because they said they didn't know what type of hair I had. I came into the shop with an Afro and I made sure that my hair was combed through and detangled the night before my appointment. When it was time for my blow dry my hair was knotted and tangled for days. There were two assistants at once combing through my hair. I could feel my hair ripping out and could see clumps of hair everywhere. I ended up with a headache and had to tell them I only need one person combing through the tangles. At that moment I wanted to leave the salon and cry. My scalp was sore and my head was throbbing. I continued the service because I really wanted my hair cut for my birthday and I also did not want to leave the salon in anger or making a scene. When they finally took me over to Soiban's chair I was so uncomfortable. I had an audience of student assistants watching her cut my hair. I was not expecting this at all. Soiban was explaining what she was doing to my hair to the students while they talked about video games. She wasn't trying to get to know me as a client or talk to me. For the amount of money I paid I did not experience quality service. I really expected to enjoy my visit at the salon that I recommend to my family and friends to but unfortunately that did not happen.

Think twice before going to this Salon! I was out and about and looking for a Salon to get my…read morehaircut. At the spur of the moment, I called this Salon since it was in my area to see if they had availability and they invited me to go in. I was originally interested in getting highlights. I went in during the day since they were not busy. The girls seemed very nice and took time to discuss highlighting options, then we discussed suggestions for a haircut. I decided to let Kyra (not sure of the spelling) cut my hair. She took quite a while to cut my hair and when she showed me the back I had to hold my breath and bite my tongue. The layers she cut looked as if a 4 yearold had taken dull scissors to my hair. I mentioned that the layers didn't look even, but she assured me they were. I paid and left. I also hit the 30 percent tip by accident, but the Mgr said there was no way for her to void the transaction and re--ring it. SMH. I didn't even want to look at it again after I got home. A few days later I washed my hair and blew dried it and styled it, but I was still just as disappointed with the cut. Now, I can't get highlights because they will only exaggerate the butchered layers. The Mgr wanted me to go back in so she can fix the cut, but i don't want to because the layers have already been cut a lot shorter and the odds of being able to blend them correctly will most likely require cutting off a lot more of my hair. I'm stuck for at least another 6 months to let it grow, and then hopefully, I will find another Stylist that might be able to blend the layers and give me a quality haircut. I am VERY disappointed in my experience at Salon Envy.

So I went to the salon maybe a half a dozen times always for hair color. I had one haircut one…read moretime. Willow was always my stylist. I found her to be fairly knowledgeable about color but she did not really like a aveda color and I think she started trying to sneak other color in my sessions. A couple of occasions I could smell strong ammonia with the hair color and obviously that was not Aveda.. I had come from a horrible previous experience where they just about destroyed my hair so I was tolerant of their services. The front desk manager is rude and was rude from the start. I was always nice and I always tipped about 40% and even more at Christmas time and even gave a gift and I made sure that I went above and beyond to be courteous. The only explanation I can think of is that I am in the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY. THE LAST COUPLE SESSIONS WERE AWFUL. THE VERY LAST ONE THEY NEARLY RUIN MY HAIR THE COLOR WAS NOT THE SAME COLOR THE COLOR WAS A STRONG REEK OF AMMONIA I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY USED IT CERTAINLY WASN'T AVEDA which is what I paid for and always have for 30 years. I called 15 times after my last appointment to schedule another appointment and to tell them that my color was off and I need a consultation to see what we needed to tweak on the formula because it was more red than usual. I left three messages and no one ever called me back no one ever answered the 15 times I called over a two week period And I know they have caller ID. Everything is subpar in this place and I think people tolerate as much as they can going here because it's in a convenient location near the quarry. So for whoever this review may help this has been my honest experience. There were no prior issues there were no issues between me or anyone else at the salon all I can think of is discrimination it's there's no other option in my mind.
