Amber was available to cut my hair and we set right to work. She was very good at shampooing and so pleasant and easy to talk to! She did a great job getting rid of my very dry ends and blending and shaping my hair. After blow drying she said she would shape it a bit more. In my high school/college years, I was always either getting my hair done not enough, or I was jumping from salon to salon because of convenience. Well within my experience, it is 100% important to NOT do that, and if it's not broken; don't fix it! I am now on a regular schedule of getting my hair done by Julie, and this will be the second time she has helped me fully process from a dark hair color, to blonde. Her placement of highlights is the best I have ever seen in my life, and she really cares about all of her clients. She doesn't push you to buy extra products, but instead she educates you on how to maintain healthy hair and color. I ended up getting the AVEDA Blue Mulva conditioner at the salon because I loved the way her own hair was perfectly blonde! One thing I have not yet tried, was their mani/pedi services. With the basically-brand new salon, the mani/pedi room is beautiful. I have heard they do an amazing job (and have affordable prices) but I still have not made time to schedule an appointment! But seriously, if you are looking for a salon in the Schaumburg/roselle/elk grove area, this is your place. Kristen has not only given me beautiful blonde tresses which hide the gray nicely as it starts coming in, but when the color gets a little darker, it's a beautiful light brown, the color that I tried unsuccessfully for years to get out of a box. My hair's condition has vastly improved, and every cut that I've gotten has been beautiful. I normally like my hair longer, and when I first came to Kristen, I was growing out a bad short cut. The first time in Kristen's chair and I felt like I already had long hair when she was done simply because she is an expert at cutting and knew exactly how to clean up the bad cut and give me results that I loved instantly. A few years ago, I decided to go brave and go short again. Kristen's cut was absolutely amazing. As it's grown out again, it's looking even more beautiful than ever. My second visit 7 or 8 weeks later with the same stylist didn't look as good. The contrast between blond and brown barely noticable. My third visit with the same stylist was way too dark brown. The blond highlights were narrow evenly spaced streaks and looked so fake because they were so symetrical. I cancelled future appointments because I could not get consistant results. Also, at a new place today they reported that my hair was severly damaged from over bleaching during foils. For basic services this place is fine. But they do not have an understanding of how to protect hair from further damage by over processing.
