Excellent breakfast burrito and espresso drinks. The gyro or southwest salad are my lunch favorites.

Self-serve was easy---make your salad and weigh it at the register. My large tray salad (see pic) was $17.21. It was two meals worth! The ingredients were all very fresh with a few spectacular choices--crumbled blue cheese, artichoke hearts, diced red pepper, cubed ham, roasted chicken, hard-boiled eggs, pickled beets, Kalamata olives, and sweet pickle chips. I love blue cheese dressing, especially when I can choose the amount. Dilly's is a little diluted and lacks garlic, but the crumbled blue cheese made it all work. Also, salt and pepper was needed--if it was there, I didn't see any. But hey, this is the most complete salad bar I've seen in Wenatchee. I also took home a Tuna-Tuna sandwich for Sherrie--she loved it. I think we're hooked! There's a loyalty program--1 Star for every $10 spent, and 50% off next purchase after 10 Stars. It's Burger King on steroids! You won't find tomatoes on the menu board, but almost every other combination of garnish (and companion meats) are options. I went with their stated classic, the "OG Mission" ('original gangster') burger. It is delicious, albeit noticeably greasy, due to the extra-high fat content of the ground beef. But that's where the rich flavor comes from. What Mission Burgers is doing right is highly seasoning the meat with salt and pepper, then punching up the flavor with pickles, red onion, and their special sauce. Add to that the richness of the cheese and the crusty, grilled bun--this is the winning combination at the base of all their other burger options. The other thing I really appreciate is, their straightforward pricing without trying to upsell their ingredients. The add-ons are inexpensive--slice of cheddar is $.50 compared to EZ's $1.47 for the same. Two suggestions: - drain the grease off the patties before assembly, - don't fold the wrapper in half... wrap the burger in a full sheet, stronger paper if necessary, keep it from leaking all over clothing. (I'll be back to check! :-) Otherwise, this is a 5-Star burger! (see the menu board pic attached for all the other options, including chicken)

We ordered the: - Belgian Dürüm Wrap (5s) - Bacon-Mushroom Döner (4s) - Feta (French) Fries (3s) The Belgian Dürüm Wrap was the star of the show--fresh ingredients with lots of crunch in each bite, nicely wrapped so as not to spill or leak. The Bacon-Mushroom Döner was a sandwich with enough sauce to leak all over. The flavor was complex and fresh, and all the food groups were represented. But there wasn't a distinguishing flavor-forward identity. It was a vegetable sandwich with bacon. I'm not complaining, it was good. But the wrapping did not keep ingredients and sauce from falling out on my clothing. Still, I give it the benefit of the doubt. The FFF (Feta French Fries) were the biggest challenge for me because: [Hot Fries+Cold Garnish=Cold Fries]. Maybe this combination is popular in Germany or Turkey, I wouldn't think it's popular in the US. I could have finished it, but chose not to. I'm looking forward next time to the more traditional menu items, like the Turkish Rice dishes.

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

What's Not to Love About Glaze?…read more As a member of the leadership team overseeing multiple data center campuses in this region, I've come to really appreciate the value of consistency, attention to detail, and genuine service--whether it's from our internal operations or the vendors and partners we choose to support our teams. Glaze Doughnuts has become one of those standout partners. Time and time again, Glaze has proven that no order is too small--or too large. There have been mornings where we've called in a modest request for just a few dozen of the town's best doughnuts to brighten our technicians' day, and other moments where we've needed large catering orders to support full site events, customer visits, or company-wide meetings. In every instance, the team at Glaze responds with the same level of enthusiasm, professionalism, and care. The doughnuts themselves are next level. We're not talking about ordinary pastries here--every single one is crafted with quality ingredients, creative flavor combinations, and the kind of freshness that tells you these aren't sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to bite. From the classics to the seasonal specials, Glaze delivers excellence in every box. But what really keeps us coming back isn't just the product--it's the people. The staff at Glaze truly make you feel like your order matters, no matter the size. They've remembered names, made thoughtful recommendations, and gone above and beyond to accommodate timelines, delivery requests, and last-minute changes. Their service-first mindset makes a huge difference, especially in an industry like ours where reliability matters more than anything. And as a veteran-owned business, Glaze brings a level of integrity and purpose to their work that deserves to be celebrated. They treat every customer like they're part of something bigger--and in many ways, they are. Glaze is more than a doughnut shop. It's a local institution built on hard work, pride, and hospitality. Ten out of ten--every time. For us, Glaze has become a trusted part of how we care for our people. And in this fast-paced world, where so much feels rushed or impersonal, having a local partner that consistently delivers joy, quality, and genuine service is a gift. Thank you to the Glaze team for doing what you do. We see you. We appreciate you. And we'll keep coming back.- thanks Sepi

Today was our second visit but the first to include food. We are in town for the week and stopped by for coffee three days ago and bantered a bit with the woman working the counter whose name we found out today is Amber. She's so awesome! I hope that business knows just how amazing she is and treats her accordingly. That first day we only ordered coffee and really liked it and the banter lifted us up a bit so that was cool. Today we went in for breakfast and coffee. She remembered us and everything unique about that first encounter. It was a good feeling after a crazy few days so that was wonderful. We also met Hannah who made the excellent coffees we had. We ordered a croque monsieur with an egg on top, a beirock (not sure I'm spelling that right), quiche and a morning bun. Everything was delicious! The beirock had eggs, cheese and bacon in it in a fully closed bun. That bun had such a good flavor that I would only order that next time. The quiche was creamy and smooth but the crust wasn't good. Our daughter who lives here and loves this place, especially their quiche (she says it's better than mine, lol) says the crust usually isn't as bad as it was today. For me, it tasted like it was microwaved (and maybe it was) and that taste and texture is not good. The filling was so tasty though. The morning bun was delicious. I don't normally love sweets for breakfast but it was yummy. The croque was fan-frickin-tastic and while Randy says he's had one that's better, it's not much better and he absolutely loved it. We all had tastes of it and loved it. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town and recommend you try this place out too. If you do, please tell Amber Bobo, Coco and Momo say HI!
