Let me start off by saying that Priscilla, the owner of Sun Mist Spray Tanning did do a great job on my spray tan and for sure she made me look like a Golden Goddess BUT her customer service skills definitely need a little work. Priscilla did NOT introduce herself to me and I'm guessing she assumed I knew her name because all the previous reviews mention her name & her tanning certificate was hanging on her wall that had her name on it..not sure why she didn't introduce herself but as a 1st time customer of hers it really wasn't the best 1st impression. It also would have been helpful to have been told by Priscilla when I called her to book my appointment that Sun Mist Spray Tanning is NOT a stand alone business but instead I'm going to her apartment that has a separate professional and very clean room setup for getting your spray tan done. I say this because her apartment building is located in the Domain area very close to many of the retail shops and restaurants so I walked up & down the sidewalk a few times trying to figure out where I was going & not sure if I was indeed going to an apartment building and then once I figured I am going to an apartment building how do I get into the apartment building, which is gated. FYI-you do need to call Priscilla to have her let you in. As a newbie to spray tanning (this was my 2nd spray tan) I would suggest to Priscilla to ask her clients if they want their face spray tanned before just going ahead & doing it w/out discussion 1st. Since I am new to getting spray tanned & I was nervous about the end result looking orange instead of golden and it would have made me feel much more comfortable about getting my face spray tanned if we had discussed her doing it beforehand. In the end I had makeup on so not sure the face spray tan took. I would also suggest to put on her website the prep instructions on what should be done to prep before getting a spray tan. Priscilla did tell me a few things on how to prep over the phone when I called to book my appointment but there were other prep things that I did not know about because she did not mention them to me. All of that goes a really long way making me want to come back and never need to look for another location, of course. She checks to make sure I want any of the add-ons I've had before which I do every time, and I also have started getting the mitt for applying the primer every time. She's the only employee I saw today and the salon was in perfect shape. All the rooms were clean and ready to go. She did not ask me to make a review by the way, but even if she had, I wouldn't have minded and have been would've been happy to do so. Sometimes employees at certain businesses will tell you they have some kind of competition going on or just ask if you would give a good review if you're happy with them. I understand their cancellation policy and paid the balance they requested. The account is now canceled and at $0, so this isn't about refusing to pay. It's about how they handled it: failed payment $15 fee continued billing repeated threat of collections over a relatively small balance. As a local business owner, I understand protecting revenue. I also understand customer retention and lifetime value. **Creating this much confrontation over a small billing issue is not how you build a thriving customer-facing business.** They got their money. **They lost the customer.** long story short they will absolutely burn down every bridge to collect a small amount of money with no regards to customer retention. the entire engagement was amusing at how dumb some customer facing business can be and their star reviews reflect that. They wanted to charge me 50% the cost of the service to cancel when it wasn't my fault..... really?! I'm not happy with the work done on my face.
