We saw the sign for 20 navel oranges for $1 and 10 avocados for $1. I was afraid the oranges would be sour since they're the size of a tangerine but they are sweet!! Still a good deal. The avocados need to be ripened at home but they're a good size. I'd say it is worth the pit stop.oh and there are adorable goats you can say hi to. read more

I have never seen a fruit store with so many signs telling you not to touch the fruit. No wonder, the fruit isn't very fresh at all. Apples were rotten inside and grainy. The supposed Sunkist oranges were dry inside. Extra star for clean washrooms and dried goods variety. read more

I shouldn't have ventured into this place. I overrode my logical brain when I saw over 20 crude signs along the highway promoting Bell Station. Any time a Local Farmers Market hypes its marketing by saying "20 Avacodos for $1" - It is a red flag. I overrode my logical brain since I was thirsty for a good bowl of fresh strawberries. As soon as I entered and saw the merchandise and fresh produce, I knew this was not the right place. Low quality stuff at a super premium price. Since I was there anyways, I picked a few things and also a strange fruit. I did not pay too much attention to the price. When rung them in, the strange fruit (1 fruit) was $30 dollars. I requested them to cancel this particular item. But they refused. Extremely arrogant young men managing the store with absolutely no courtesy to the customer. read more

5/10/2025, Stopped at this quaint fruit stand in Hollister. California on the way to Stanford University Native American PowWow because they were SELLING 20 SMALL AVOCADO for $1.00 I bought 40. Good spot to stop on for a road trip all the works are so nice, and the produce is so fresh and yummy!

We made a pit stop here and were pleasantly surprised. Got a variety of veggies chips, avocados 8 for 5$, persimmon 6 for 2$, honey. The lady in the store was so nice and friendly! She offered us some honey samples and afterwards I got some to take home too! There were some cute goats in front. They have a lot of produce, nuts, sauces, dried fruits and veggies, honey etc. Would stop by! Had a nice time! read more

This is a farmers market located in an 1857 historical building which housed a tavern, telegraph operation and stage coach station. In 1873, a post office and toll road was added and it became Bell Station. This building had sat vacant for many years until a farmers market opened inside about 5 years ago. They're on highway 152 and the only thing for miles for those traversing interstate 5 to reach the Central Valley and Southern California. They have very good apricots, salad dressings and other items, but they are all expensive and there doesn't appear to be bathrooms. This is a big problem in such an area, as Casa de Fruta (largely a competitor) is the only other nearby area with a toilet. They sell cactus and other plants in the front and have very good service. The blue cheese and walnut salad dressing is unreal. They have many bottled items locally made, such as hot sauce, honey and seasonings. The sheep are cute out front and it's neat a historical building has been saved and out to use, but the lack of bathrooms and high prices on everything are really a challenge. Bell Station is the last map reference in the state for any "station" that's telegraph and not railroad, according to the historical marker. Whilst this area appears to be Hollister, it's known by locals as Pacheco Pass. read more

We like this produce stand and plant nursery a lot ! Located in a Historic Building that was once a stagecoach station (this the name) . You can read all about it on the historical marker plaque located on property. As you enter you will see their great variety of healthy plants for sale , once inside, The staff is always over the top friendly and helpful. The store itself is Always very clean with an excellent variety of fresh produce. In the summer they vend lovely pineapple yellow watermelon that I truly recommend. Also the refrigerator has this "garlic stuff" sauce that is so worth taking home as a legit Gilroy rememberance . read more

I passed by this place all the time. I finally decided to stop by the store. I'm glad I did! This place has a variety of fresh local fruits, nuts, local honey, so many to more to remember, not to mention their dried fruits! Garlic chips is a must try!!! This place is a wonderful stop off the road on your way to or from anywhere! I remember when it was a restaurant and now it's a lovely market for produce and my fave ... double dipped chocolate peanuts :-) The staff is always friendly and helpful. John is usually the guy that helps us but all are so nice. It is, however, hit and miss with the quality of the avocados but that's with most stores anyway. Love the selection of nuts, hot sauces and novelty items too! We've been here dozens of times and we will continue to patronize this store. Thank you guys for many fun experiences. Now they have also added succulents and cacti to the offering. The last time I stopped by I needed the restroom. They have two located outside in a separate building. Driving back from Visalia to San Jose, I saw a sign off the highway that read "Bell Station Farmers Market" so I decided to exit the road on the right side and stop in hoping to find some produce to bring home. Found some really good quality, and affordably priced, nectarines, peaches, and cherries. They had a large variety of hot sauce, olives, and some decent looking veggies but didn't try any of those. I'm assuming they're newly setup but not entirely sure. I'd stop by again, and it's nice to browse in an indoor environment. read more

We are local and have driven by Bell Station hundreds of times and have never taken the time to stop. We finally stopped this weekend and were so glad we did! John, the proprietor greeted us in a friendly manner as we came in and told him to let us know if we had any questions. There is a huge hot sauce selection as well as many other gourmet products, jams, jellies, honey, nuts, etc. The produce selection was very fresh and the prices were better than the grocery store. The store is charming with its original stone fireplace and the historical plaque outside explaining the history of the property and it's stage coach past. Definitely worth the stop as you are driving on highway 152...it's super easy to get off and right back on! read more

This place is great! The prices are actually cheaper than or the same as my local grocery store. Plus they have local honey; a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables; different kinds of brittle; a ridiculously large assortment of different hot sauces; plain and flavored nuts; candy; jerky; garlic in all kinds of forms and flavors and more. This place has wonderful history. I'm so glad they reopened. A very nice location for a picnic, and to stock up before you do the 6 mile dirt road drive or bike ride to the Dowdy entrance for Coe Park. Note they are open year-round, not tied to the park hours. They are small and not highly-commercialized, but they've got a lot of nice produce and local items. I am going to make a special trip back there to see if I can get more of the elderberry jam both for us and for gifts (locally produced and branded Bell's Station with attractive wrapping over the lid). I also love the pickled garlic. Say hi to "Pat," one of the owners of the business -- he and his brother got the place renovated and re-opened. [EDIT: I got three more jars of elderberry jam recently; yum!] They are right at the edge of Henry Coe Park, which makes for beautiful surroundings, and they have picnic tables. You could spend a couple of hours here picnicking and then going for a nice walk. During Coe's Backcountry Weekend I intend to stock up. DIRECTIONS: It is off of Route 152, which is also known as Pacheco Pass Highway. The google map on Yelp doesn't seem accurate. If you are heading East on 152 over the Pacheco Pass, keep a sharp eye out for the left-hand lane turnoff to the entrance. It will be opposite a very tall sharp "upthrust" peak which occurs across the highway -- when you see this peak, get into the left lane and get ready to move into an exit lane that will come up. Also, it is the same exit as for Coe Park so you can watch for that sign as well. read more

This place is GREAT! I highly recommend it. My sister and brother told me about it. So my daughter, grandkids and I, ventured out and we're so happy we did. Fresh produce, jar items such as olives, garlic, jams, salsa's, & chips, and drinks and prices are very reasonable. Strawberries were the size of a tangerine at 8.00 a box, And Large artichokes were HUGE at 1.59 each. Prices on everything were GREAT! & well worth the drive. The owner was so nice and very helpful.
