I saw that they offered iv sedation and was immediately interested. I've tried gas and pills before and the gas only gave me more anxiety and I hated the way it made me feel. The pill I was given honestly I didn't feel have any effect on me still panicking about the whole thing. So I decided to schedule a consultation. I walked in and was immediately greeted, and called back for my scan and treatment plan exam. I'm terrible with names but I believe her name was Julie she was so amazing, she made me feel so comfortable and comforted. I immediately felt safe, and at ease even though inside I was feeling overwhelmed. Dr Gasser popped in to say hi to me and said he would be with me shortly. Prior to this visit he also called me on the phone to get a better explanation of what my dental past has been. Which I found pleasantly surprised. He did his exam on me, came up with a plan and I left feeling almost looking forward to having my procedure done. Which I can say is never something I'd normally say. I felt welcomed, and I feel that they will take care of me and my needs. And it was just the consultation, I've never left a dental place feeling that way. Glad I made the appointment, and looking forward to my continued care.

With me, he said that most likely he could save the molar in the back, but there is a possibility that it can't be saved and he won't know that until he gets into the tooth. I hope you have a lot of money if you go to Dr. Carr. He is very good at what he does and has all…read morethe latest state of the art equipment, but he is also very good at convincing you you need procedures that may not necessarily be needed at the time. He convinced me that I needed periodontal root scaling, which will cost you a bunch. Although I'm not a dentist, I don't think I needed to go to that extent at this time. My gums weren't bleeding when I brushed and none of my teeth were lose! I had no signs of infected gums or disease. Like I said, he is very convincing. But when I decided that I no longer wanted periodontal maintenance cleanings every 4 months, which of course are more costly than just a regular cleaning, he actually kicked me out of his practice. So....if your just looking for a dentist who will perform what is absolutely needed or only things that you desire to have done, don't go to Carr. I believe he has a way of scaring many seniors into very expensive procedures, but if he detects that you aren't willing to turn over the cash, he doesn't really want you in his practice. This, of course is just my opinion!
