I saw that they offered iv sedation and was immediately interested. I've tried gas and pills before and the gas only gave me more anxiety and I hated the way it made me feel. The pill I was given honestly I didn't feel have any effect on me still panicking about the whole thing. So I decided to schedule a consultation. I walked in and was immediately greeted, and called back for my scan and treatment plan exam. I'm terrible with names but I believe her name was Julie she was so amazing, she made me feel so comfortable and comforted. I immediately felt safe, and at ease even though inside I was feeling overwhelmed. Dr Gasser popped in to say hi to me and said he would be with me shortly. Prior to this visit he also called me on the phone to get a better explanation of what my dental past has been. Which I found pleasantly surprised. He did his exam on me, came up with a plan and I left feeling almost looking forward to having my procedure done. Which I can say is never something I'd normally say. I felt welcomed, and I feel that they will take care of me and my needs. And it was just the consultation, I've never left a dental place feeling that way. Glad I made the appointment, and looking forward to my continued care.

I came in for a crown for my front tooth. The experience was horrible and traumatic. I already had…read morean implant which required ADC to measure and send out for a crown. When the crown came in, they cemented in what the lab sent them, which was not the correct type of crown for my implant. Also, the doctor never noticed my gum above the implant was infected. I asked the doctor why the crown did not screw into place to match my implant and she said the lab cannot make that type of crown for how short my gum area was. I went back to my oral surgeon who had to saw the crown ADC put in and clean the infected area. This was excruciatingly painful to get the implant back as it was. I was referred to a new dentist. ADC is harassing me to pay the second half of the payment when they did not provide me with the correct crown! The doctors were very incompetent. They should refund the first payment due to their incompetency. I cannot afford a lawyer to free me from owing them the additional $750. They should be sued! Sincerely, Joan Johnson

I hate to complain, but yesterday when I got my teeth cleaned I was afraid that what seemed to be an unsupervised student was going to damage my teeth! It was bad! She let me know that if she hit a sensitive spot to let her know. I know it happens, but she was pretty heavy handed and I experienced physical discomfort several times. She even got her dental pick stuck between my front teeth. I was sure she was going to chip my tooth. The dentist never came in to examine her work and she made my next appointment and quickly ushered me to the door quickly passing the front desk. I think she was afraid I'd complain. I had to sit in the parking lot for 5 minutes before I left. I've been going there for several years and the first few years there was a sense of professionalism. I like that they are more interested in my teeth than selling me up-sale add-ons like most dentists. Not that she wouldn't recommend additional treatment if appropriate. Dr. Bader has done this when I needed laser treatment on my gums and a great result for what it cost. I've been her patient since 2005 and have never had a bad experience in treatments, billing, getting my appointment on time, etc. I just looked through the reviews and noticed a 1 star rating from a patient that had a problem with their dental insurance plan and felt like I needed to comment on it. I felt it unfair. Having an unusual dental insurance plan and a billing problem doesn't warrant a one star rating. Regardless of which dentist, if you have an insurance plan with a limited network, the question you would ask when setting up your appointment is, "Do you accept XYZ insurance plan AND are you in XYZ provider network?". Further, most insurance plans have a list of dentists in their network, so why wouldn't you take five minutes and check it? Knowing Dr. Bader, she'd try to figure it out, if possible, and her office manager would tell you if their practice is out of network for that plan. I've never had a problem with billing at Lake Pleasant Dentistry but have always had typical insurance plans such as Delta or MetLife or something common like that. They even offer various payment plans if you have to stretch payments over several months.

I hope you have a lot of money if you go to Dr. Carr. He is very good at what he does and has all…read morethe latest state of the art equipment, but he is also very good at convincing you you need procedures that may not necessarily be needed at the time. He convinced me that I needed periodontal root scaling, which will cost you a bunch. Although I'm not a dentist, I don't think I needed to go to that extent at this time. My gums weren't bleeding when I brushed and none of my teeth were lose! I had no signs of infected gums or disease. Like I said, he is very convincing. But when I decided that I no longer wanted periodontal maintenance cleanings every 4 months, which of course are more costly than just a regular cleaning, he actually kicked me out of his practice. So....if your just looking for a dentist who will perform what is absolutely needed or only things that you desire to have done, don't go to Carr. I believe he has a way of scaring many seniors into very expensive procedures, but if he detects that you aren't willing to turn over the cash, he doesn't really want you in his practice. This, of course is just my opinion!
