I haven't see any major pile up of stock or trash. The workers aren't outgoing with their customer service, but most TJ Maxx employees are busy stocking or checking out customers. Something about this store just feels better than other locations. It always seems to be very clean and even though it's organized just like all the other locations I've been in over time, it just seems to have more space available to display the products. Just like all the other locations they have Men's, Women's, Children's, Household items, and occasionally a mixture of other items (exercise, toys, jewelry, etc.) Typically not a lot of staff working so check out can take a few minutes, but that's really about the only negative. Also, keep in mind that selection varies a lot even from store to store and changes up based on what the current season is.

Prices are good, and the clearance racks are even better if you can find something you like in your size there! I deducted one star (and I wanted to deduct 100 stars) because of the fitting room situation. They moved it to the front of the store, two tiny cubicles and we had to wait forever in line to try stuff on! That was from before Christmas until last month. The most recent trip I noticed there was the regular fitting rooms in the back (which are plentiful) were open with an attendant. So I'm not giving the star back but at least I didn't deduct 100 ... so that's fair I think! Typically the attitude going in here should be "I'm just looking" as it's hit or miss when you have something very specific in mind. If you browse around though, you will definitely leave with some things you suddenly needed very much!

They have men's and women's and children's sections, but they also try to put all the active wear together as well as the dress clothes, etc. They also carry the same type of household items you'd expect to find at one of these stores. I felt like they had similar brand name items as the other stores, but just not the same selection. I would guess they may have been getting a little picked over since it was close to the holidays, so they probably deserve another shot. I'd come back and check them out if I was in the area again.

Food World grocery store was the staple here for a long time and after it closed, it seemed like this hometown plaza had seen better days- although there were a few that kept me coming back: Asahi, Dollar General, A1 Cleaners. Now it boasts a Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and Dirt Cheap for any bargain hunters, and America's Thrift Store for some super deals. Union Jack moved here last year, there is a church I recently noticed and a very popular gym where Center Stage used to be. Kindred home health and hospice rounds up the back - with a few more businesses I don't frequent too. You can also grab Krystal or bank while you're out shopping. That being said it's kind of nice that there is room to walk around what they do have on hand. The Rainbow City location is so jam packed it can actually be hard to walk though and look at their stuff. If you're into team gear (Bama and what ever that other team is) they have a really expansive dedicated space for shirts, coats, hoodies, and misc gear. Just like other department stores they have a good selection of men's, women's and children clothing as well as some household items. Shoe department looks like they are still adding stuff in and will probably grow over the next couple months. Several spots to check out make it nice and easy .... plus help to keep lines down. Also, as of January 2021 you aren't able to enter on the Books A Million side, you have to park on the Belk/Food Court side and enter through those doors. Recommended for clothing shopping.
