That work is a different environment and that she's not allowed to do that so not even to family or friends. That's crazy to me Even created a Yelp account just to say this because of how upset that made me! Poor girls should be able to tell her family or friends that she loves them whenever she feels the need. If this is even a rule, I think it needs to be changed and I think a lot of people would agree.

To be clear, I am ONLY reviewing the Publix Pell City Pharmacy. I switched to Publix for my and my…read morekids' prescriptions a few years ago because it's the closest to my house. Last month, after seeing one of the employees posting referring to a different customer's child as a "crotch goblin" and joking that if the customer's 3 year old took an adult dose of blood pressure medication it wouldn't be a bad thing I decided it was worth driving further for my kids to be safe. I do not know the customer the Publix pharmacy employee was speaking about, but the story went somewhat viral on the local Facebook pages and it was very believable based on my own experience with Publix Pharmacy in Pell City. Before this final straw they had shown me a consistent pattern of incompetence and unprofessional behavior. In spite of our insurance being the same month to month, inevitably when I would refill our prescriptions each month, without fail, they would neglect to run someone's prescriptions on insurance and I would have to insist they run it and wait. Once, I wasn't paying attention and paid full price and getting a refund took forever. During the last presidential election the employees were holding up and showing off obnoxiously political shirts and merch they had purchased while at least 5 customers waited in line to pick up prescriptions at the counter. The wait is always long, they are frequently out of stock on common maintenance medications, the employees are rude and the culture of prioritizing socializing with coworkers over helping customers is at best acceptable to management. Switching to a different pharmacy was a hassle and Publix did not send over all of my children's records when the new pharmacy requested them which led to a lot of back and forth and frustration. But, in the end it was worth it for the peace of mind that people who take their jobs seriously will be handling my children's prescriptions in the future.

So peculiar I thought to myself, "well that's odd." Also, it smells really weird in this store. What is causing this smell? On another note, where is the music?? How in the world am I supposed to pick out the best yams to feed my family when there's no bright, musical notes to assist in my healthy choices? They also need more ice cream choices. If you're looking for an extreme chocolate ice cream, tough luck. And where does Mr. Wiggly get off by telling me how to raise my kids? Signs saying I should "strap my child in the shopping cart." Then another TELLING me to "protect our children." Whose children are these? Why should I protect them? Why is the signage here so aggressive? But here's what really grinds my gears. The produce section is not your average market. Most of the produce is already cellophane wrapped! Why can't I choose my own produce?? What kind of fascist country is this that the veggies are picked for me? This company clearly hates Mother Earth. But I will say, the checkout staff was polite and friendly. So if you're looking for a grocery store but don't feel like driving all the way to the interstate, here you go!

I was going to eat in my car once, but homeless people kept knocking on my window asking for money. This only happens at the Gadsden store. That being said, this location is still really good. It may appear a little scary on the outside, they could definitely use a remodel including a dab of paint, and once you get inside it has the look and feel of a place that could use an overhaul. But, I would put this out there, this is the grocery store equivalent of a dive bar. Produce section isn't enormous, but they have everything you would need and the prices are upwards of 1/2 that of the other local places. Typical grocery store items through the middle, canned foods, boxed foods, etc, you know what you'll find in a grocery store. Where these guys really shine is their meat department. Great quality and really good prices. Always able to find some good options for cooking for the week. Highly recommend this place if you are anywhere in the area .... especially for their meat. Side note, if you are looking for bakery, this location is a little limited on their offerings (compared to the other two that I've been at).
