We were in contract to sell our house when our damage happened, and Michael took the time to provide additional information and answer our buyers' questions. I highly recommend Puroclean- Westerville.

They responded quickly to our call and "the owner" from Ohio inspected and stated everything they would/should do. We agreed and they sent a team to get started however the team was from Tennessee with a different "owner", as the local teams were supposedly busy with other jobs. The Ohio owner told us the pad would need to be ripped out and disposed of but the carpet could be saved. When the Tennessee crew arrived they told us they had a technique that could save the pad as well as the carpet by floating air under the carpet and over the pad. We certainly weren't experts so we believed and trusted what they told us. After three days they came back and took the equipment out and demanded payment on the spot so we paid $1,200 via credit card. No one provided an estimate in writing at any time during this process and they told us the detailed receipt would show up in our e-mail later that day. I had to call twice to get the detailed receipt within two days which I finally received. We noticed a musty smell coming from the basement and notified the Ohio owner who immediately came over to investigate. He pulled the carpet back and determined that the pad was still wet. We questioned him about telling us initially that it needed to be removed and disposed of but he was now waffling and would not challenge what was told by the out of town crew. He called a co-worker, they ripped out the pad, rolled up the carpet, shoved the furniture in one end of the basement and insisted he had to wait for rain to see if there were any other leaks coming from outside. Everyone knew that it was caused by a defective plastic valve on the hot water heater and it was clean water from the beginning yet they wouldn't admit it because they also knew we paid for a job that wasn't done correctly the first time. It was always the pad holding water and acting a s a sponge. From July 5th until August 9th, we never heard from anyone at PuroClean. On our own we hired a carpet company to reinstall the carpet with new pad as well as the baseboards. The carpet installers had tremendous difficulty in getting wrinkles out of the new five month old carpet because of the way PuroClean rolled it and left it. My wife and I put the furniture back in place and hired a carpet cleaning company to clean the carpet. Several pieces of furniture were damaged due to their mis-handling including an antique sideboard. We received a text yesterday asking "how things were" and stating that they are still waiting on significant rain to try and find a leak from the outside that we know doesn't exist. We have exchanged several e-mails asking for a partial refund for their inability to handle the situation and they only want to argue and blame us and not each other. For it being one company there is no ownership or communication within PuroClean. You have no recourse if something goes wrong so please avoid them as they are not true professionals. Gary Titus
