We used this company for many years and Doug was our contact. He did the work himself, sometimes…read morewith his son. Doug was wonderful and we loved his honesty and promptness. We called them last winter to do a routine chimney sweep and was told Doug was no longer with the company. It had been a few years since we had the main chimney swept, but we don't use it that often. The winters in TX rarely warrant using it. Colton Brown came out and did a Level 2 inspection and eventually said our chimney had level 3 creosote and would require a deeper cleaning with a special solvent. Fine just do it. He charged us $500 for the cleaning and said he would send a report of what he recommended moving forward. Long story short I received a 15 page document from Micah about how our main fireplace and chimney was in such disrepair that we needed a new one. "No longer suitable for continued use." Was the exact terminology. They quoted us over 20k for this job. I called another company and said I had just received some bad news from Ables and would like a second opinion. The guy instantly said, "Let me guess... they said you needed a whole new fireplace and everything else." I told him yes and he replied, "That seems to be their answer for everthing. I'll come take a look." The next day the guy came out and told me they had not cleaned the chimney and that the build up was very minimal. He spent an hour or so cleaning the chimney and when he was done he showed me a camera he ran up the chimney. The chimney was shiny silver metal and looked near new. He charged us a couple hundred dollars and went on his way. He said that was all that was needed and the fireplace and chimney were fine to use. Note our house is only 10 years old. Be careful with this company. You probably don't need an entire new chimney and fireplace you just need a company who will actually clean it.

Earlier this week we had a new outdoor system was installed. The system was only 12 years old and could have been repaired had we wanted to wait for parts. Obviously, this time of year, local suppliers are low or out of parts. We took this opportunity to upgrade our unit from 3.5 tons to 4 tons - totally our decision. As a matter of fact, I brought the subject up. (We have a four bedroom house.) I knew I would get an honest response. The new unit was installed and running the next day. Bottom line, there is rarely good news when it comes to heating and air conditioning! I'll close with this. Precision Landscaping installed a sprinkler system in our new home because they worked with our…read morecontractor (we didn't pick them). One of the sprinklers was spraying directly at our window, we called to have them adjust it, 2 weeks later we had to call our contractor to get the Precision guys to come out. It took them 2.5 weeks to come out for a 2 minute adjustment. Fast forward to 1 year later we had 7 trees we wanted to plant. I called them for a quote. $30/tree. Not bad and they knew where the sprinkler system was so we told them we wanted them to come out. They ignored my text/phone call for 1 week, texted 1 week later saying to "give them 1-2 days, they would have the trees installed" 1 week later I still haven't heard from them. Again waiting 2.5 weeks for them to do a job. I'm not saying that they don't do good work, our sprinkler system is fine and works, I'm saying that they probably won't get back to you in a timely manner and that is FRUSTRATING! Thankfully we found another company and our trees look beautiful. I'm not sure if they are so busy that they don't have time for mediocre jobs but all they had to do was call, explain they were busy and put me on the books. They didn't and for that reason I would NOT use them again.

His work ethic, focus on customer service, and attention to detail is why we hired him. From day one he did what he said he would, when he said he would. He is a busy guy but took the time to meet my husband and I at the nursery and spent hours picking the perfect custom water feature for our home. When his work was complete he took great care to clean up the job site including cleaning the driveway, sidewalks, and even the eves and trim of our home. His team treated our home as if it were their own and for this we are so grateful. His landscaping design is both beautiful and functional. Before every time it rained the large flower beds we have in front of our home would completely fill with water and the mulch would be blown all over the side walk and into the yard. Not anymore the day after Mr. Holt finished a huge rain storm came through and the new French drain he installed worked like a charm, the freshly installed mulch stayed put and no more mulch mess. We could not be happier, would recommend his services and will hire him again without hesitation.
