Not at Salon Karma!! I have never written a bad review about a restaurant, person, place or thing. I requested an appointment for a Hair Cut and a Keratin Treatment. I might add costing over $400. The Hair Cut not so great the Keratin Treatment should last 4-6 months. I called and spoke to the owner at the 5 1/2 week fatter my Keratin treatment and told her it DID NOT TAKE, from day one to the 5 1/2 week mark each day my hair had more and more frizz and curl as if I never had a treatment. Flat ironing twice a day. The owner insinuated I did something wrong, as washing my hair to soon, getting it wet or using a sodium shampoo or swimming. Which was not the case! The owner said I should have called day one. I was out of state for 4 weeks. If should last 4-6 months. Refusing to even have me come in and look at my hair or compensate me in any way. Which tells me the salon does not stand behind their services or stylists , Very Poor Client, Stylist - Owner relationship Poor Business ethic. Sad you pay for services not rendered. Let me add I am a Hairstylist for many years, I owned my own salon, sold it and ran 15 salons for a company up North, before moving here. I am a Certified Coppola Keratin stylist. I have given countless Keratin treatments for over 18 years, along with having it done on my own hair, I have even given myself this treatment at times. I have been going to Joy at Style It salon for about a year…read more I have always felt relaxed with Joy and the service she provides. My biggest concern was that I was beginning to show hair loss. I noticed about a year ago that I seemed to be seeing more of my scalp on top. I discussed my concern with Joy and she was very upfront about the causes that could be causing it. Since she is a hair loss specialist, our next conversation was about what we could do to prevent more hair loss and try to get my hair to start growing back. Needless to say, I was open and very ready to get started. We are now about 2 months into treatment and yep I am seeing a difference. I have followed the steps that Joy set up, a special shampoo and another product that I massage onto my scalp, laser treatments 2 to 3 times a week. I had a GREAT haircut here at Great Clips (Buckwalter) from Tyreek. I chose this Buckwalter…read morelocation because it showed 0 mins wait at check in. (It's a walk in system where you check in online and it puts you in the waiting list and tells you how many minutes until your appointment). I'd never ever been to a Great Clips location before. (I've always gone to pricey salons where the haircut alone is $50). Great clips is less than half that so I had to give it a try (senior discounts for 65+ too). I was able to be seated with my stylist in 2 minutes after walking in, so the check-in info (0 minutes) was accurate. The salon was also very clean and the stylists were cleaning up after each client). I have long blonde hair and just wanted about 4 inches cut off (dry hair cut)- straight across the bottom. Tyreek listened to what I wanted, showed me exactly how much he was planning to cut (for my approval), and then went to work. I thought I'd be in/out in 5 minutes but Tyreek pinned up half my hair and carefully cut section by section. I have a LOT of hair. He did an absolutely FLAWLESS job. I was there 35 mins or so from check in to check out. Tyreek gave me the perfect cut, the perfect length, and exactly what I wanted! I am very happy and will ask for Tyreek next time.
