He drilled it and filled it then later on it got infected,and radiated to the adjacent tooth,the filled tooth eventually broke because it was drilled too much causing it to weaken and break. Another dentist pulled the one tooth and another needed a root canal and crown,it was over $3000. Also on the other side of my upper teeth he filled in between,it was a quick job, and never mentioned anything about a cavity (Cavities) but advised it would prevent the food from being packed in. One of teeth eventually broke at the filling and and the other has a hole near the gum line,this was like this from years ago,because it was never done right from the beginning.

After a quick inspection, Lisa let me know, in the kindest way, that no, the crown wasn't loose, the tooth was cracked below the crown, unsalvageable, and it had to GO! But in the sweetest Utica way. I cannot say enough good things about this practice, Dr. Suy, her assistant and the front desk…read morefolks! They accepted my elderly father who has dementia as a new patient, on an emergency basis. It is obviously a busy and high quality practice, they did not have to take him in urgently. They promptly x-rayed him, found the offending tooth which was causing agony, and swiftly and painlessly pulled it. It was stitched up and has proceeded to heal quickly. They have him scheduled for a comprehensive follow up. They noted that the x-rays sent from another practice, were blurry and re-did the x-rays. They did not charge for the new x-ray though I would have happily paid. The whole procedure was $450.00. In addition to providing high-quality emergency care, they treated him kindly with respect, dignity and pain-free. I am very grateful to have founds the practice and look forward to having my father receive high quality and greatly needed dental care moving forward.

But let me tell you that if I didn't live in San Francisco now, he would still be my dentist. In fact, for 10 years after I moved to San Francisco I would make sure to go to Dr. Gawkins when I visited my parents. My whole family has always seen him. His office staff are like family, and they even came to my mom's funeral together - can you say that about your dentist? I heard that the doctor has recently folded his practice in with a practice in Canastota, but I don't know anything about it. I'll update my review when I do get that info, but until then, I'll just say that "I Heart Dr. Gawkins"...and you will too.
