Hair - Jen G. is superb! Loving your hair isn't always easy, but I love it since I've been going to her. She's the best! Nails - Sara B. is my girl! She does a great job every time. Massage - Lisa T. I love this woman! I've had a few massages in my time, but I will never go to anyone else now. She "reads" my body so well and always gives me what I need to feel better. These guys are all great - I love their personalities - and they keep me coming back. Prices are reasonable for what you get - if you want cheap, go to Great Clips - and I am always greeted w/ the utmost courtesy and friendliness. I was going to be taking the place of a client who had last-minute canceled on a stylist named Heidi. The consultation time with her was very short. She asked very minimal questions, but I was told by the lady at the front desk that she was "very good" so I trusted her. However, I was wrong to do so. The overall experience at the salon was pretty pleasant. She made good conversation with me and I was provided with water. I walked out of the salon pretty happy with my results. I thought that my bangs were a little bit short, but I didn't mind that much since that happens almost every time I go in to get a touch up knot my bangs. mind u i barely have bangs they are basically long curtain bangs that i like to have because i wear my hair up a lot and i like the look. anyway, day goes by I have a headband in because I was doing chores all day. I come home take my headband off and am shocked. I was left with choppy, uneven, way too short bangs. I am not sure how she was able to style them so I couldn't tell when I left the salon, but it's safe to say I will be stuck wearing that very same headband until these grow out to a reasonable length so that I can fix them and they won't be too short. Safe to say this is one of the worst touchups I have ever had and that I will forever be scared to go back into any salon and ask them to touch my bangs ever again. I'm sad to leave, I don't like doing this. This place was recommended by my mom, she saw a different stylist who wasn't available this day , not sure if it would've been a better decision to wait the next day she would be in work or if I should've never came into the salon at all. I was hoping this would be a much better experience, considering their prices are very reasonable and it was a pretty quick cut. But sadly, I have learned my lesson and will probably stick to cutting my own hair despite being FAR from a professional.

I was treated at the front by the receptionist who took my jacket and offered me something to drink, I got hot tea (it was delicious, definitely get some) and the waiting area is nice and smells like the Aveda spa smell (if you've been to any Aveda salon before, you know this specific smell). I then had my hair washed, cut and styled by Jordan. She was super sweet and very kind and very pleasant to talk to. I have loved my haircut both times and definitely plan to go back again soon. The price is very decent for a women's haircut, but I think their pricing is different per stylist.. both times I left feeling very nice and pampered and very happy with the cut!

Although I was completely happy with my stylist in Elk River, a salon "1 block away" will win all the time. I did not know Keila, so I sent her a DM to introduce myself and schedule an appointment....a 'trial' run, if you will. Keila did not disappoint! As a new client, we both needed to get to know each other and be on the same page. She listened to me, made suggestions, told me what my hair would not be able to do, and together we found a style that worked. LOVE my new cut. Keila is personable, professional, and has great skills. I will continue to go 1 block away for my cuts. :)

Today, I returned for the same gel manicure service. Because my previous nail technician was unavailable, I was paired with a different tech. Unfortunately, this experience was terrible. I was charged extra for "acrylic removal," even though there was no acrylic left on my nails. My previous technician had already cut the old product off, and my nails were bare. When I explained this to the new technician, she insisted that my nails would look better after the removal and forced the extra charge. Instead of standard acrylic removal, she simply filed my natural nails down so aggressively that she caused wounds, open sores, and bleeding on multiple fingers. Filing is a standard part of any nail service, yet I was upcharged for it under the guise of acrylic removal.In the end, the manicure looked horrible, and my hands were left bleeding and injured. I ended up paying over $60--more than I usually pay for a full set of gel or dip with acrylics combined elsewhere.
