    Receipt for wine
    Randy G.

I love my local Bel Air / Raley's store, everything about it is great, especially the employees, but corporate blew it on the printed receipts. They give you lots of numbers, every number you could imagine, except the price you actually paid for each item. That's literally the only number I expect on a receipt, and it's not there. For example, if you buy wine, it shows the "Regular Price" that I did not pay, another slightly lower price (sale price?) that I did not pay, then it shows a delta (negative dollar amount) for buying 6 or more, and it shows 0.10 CRV and .01 "off". That's 5 numbers for one item, and none of them are the price I paid. What did I pay for that bottle? Well, better get my calculator out, for EVERY line on my receipt. I know this is not a huge issue but it's frustrating, especially since it would be so easy for the tech folks to fix - they have the data they just blew it on the formatting of the receipt. Classic case of designing something with no feedback from actual users.

It still has the brand new look and feel for having opened in November 2024. There are things that I absolutely appreciate about this supermarket. The good things: +Clean, modern interior. +The selection of groceries includes some Korean and Indian staples. +They also have a ton load of a variety of rice and produce. +They have an aisle full of plates, bowls, and cooking implements with competitive prices. +The cashiers now assist folks to bag the groceries; this helps the lines move quicker and eliminates that awkward stand and stare action. +The fishmonger does free cleaning and fish frying. Yay... less work for me. +The supermarket is within a shopping plaza with food options (boba tea shop, fast food, sit down restaurants), jewelry shop, Korean beauty product shop, hair salon, and more. Other things ... - Some fish on ice have cloudy discolored eyes. Since the fish is behind the glass, you can ask the staff to show you the other fish in the pile. You are looking for clear eyes. So for folks that like to actually feel or pickup the fish (like myself), you have to verbally communicate with the fishmonger to select the one you want. The staff all speak English. [The person who helped me voluntarily showed me the other fish, he was a man of few words and expressionless. He was helpful, polite, and courteous. Not mean but having a stoically cool demeanor. Please don't take his lack of Susie Sunshineness as a personal attack]. - Majority of the produce are sold pre bagged/shrink wrapped packaged by the grocer. No breaking up the bags into a smaller quantity. Plus I tend to have to cook the produce within a few days before they turn south on me. -There is no hot food or hot meat/poultry counter which is usually customary in Asian supermarkets.

There are multiple security guards throughout the store as a crime deterrent and can call the police if needed. Even the cashiers are overly vigilant. On one occasion I was pushing my cart by the register to look at items arraigned across from the register and I was yelled at that I needed to pay. I explained I was going to the items for sale and the cashier told me I needed to leave my cart next to the register. I left my cart next to the register and she stood next to it and proceeded to stare me down as I went to look at the display with the items. The Tofu Soup from the food court area was average. There was barely any seafood but it tasted good. There was a large amount of kimchi served on the side with a side of rice. The cost was high considering the lack of ingredients in the soup. Ordering on the kiosk was fast and easy. Service was good as the workers were friendly and helpful.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a fraudulent Macy's gift card I purchased from your store on March 28, 2025, at Safeway. I bought the $80 Macy's gift card as a gift for my sister-in-law. When she attempted to use it at a Macy's store, she was informed that the card had already been used--it had been cloned. The PIN number on the card had been carefully scratched, which we now realize was a red flag. Not only was the card unusable, but my sister-in-law was left embarrassed at the store due to this incident. Despite providing this documentation, and repeatedly following up since March, Safeway has yet to resolve this issue. As of today, August 1, 2025, I have not received a refund or replacement, and the matter remains unresolved. This delay is unacceptable. I request an immediate investigation into this issue and a prompt refund or replacement of the $80 gift card.

September 30, 2025 - Rancho Cordova…read more I generally like Raley's stores and was happy when one opened in our neighborhood. But this location feels just okay. My biggest issue is with the aisles. Almost every time I shop, there are stockers with carts and boxes blocking the way. I understand shelves need to be restocked, but during business hours it should be a given that staff keep the aisles as clear as possible so customers can move around easily. On top of that, there are often promotional displays in the middle of the aisles, making it hard for two carts to pass. The produce section is hit or miss. Sometimes it's fresh and appealing, other times it looks pretty sad. I also question the product placement. For example, I went to grab canned pumpkin. The regular 15-oz cans weren't on the shelf--only the larger size. I took one of those, only to later discover a stack of the 15-oz cans at the front of the aisle. Unless you happen to circle back, you'd miss them entirely. It would make sense to keep some of the smaller cans with the larger ones so shoppers don't have to hunt around.
