No coolant/water in the radiator. After letting the car cool a bit, I limped it half a mile to the Belair exit where thankfully, I found DJ's. I left the car at their convenient drop off station with a key, a note, and a prayer that they could look at it in the am. Rick the Service Manager called me in the am to let me know they would look at it and let me know what they found. Long story short, Skip, my mechanic ran thorough diagnostics and while there was a myriad of things that COULD have been the issue, thankfully, it was just the thermostat. Skip replaced the thermostat, tested it, then refilled and bled the anti-freeze before testing it AGAIN before sending me on my way to SC same day. Service was the absolute best I have ever experienced at an auto repair shop and their price was more than fair! Rick even called me the next morning to be sure I made it back to SC alright! Take it from me, you will be doing yourself and your vehicle a huge favor by trusting Rick, Skip and the team at DJ's Car Care for your maintenance or emergency car care needs!

We had just moved to Maryland. We had to have two cars inspected/registered and this place is…read morewithin walking distance. One car passed inspection without a hitch. After waiting all day without any feedback, we finally called to inquire about our older vehicle, a 2008 Mercury Sable, did not due to an issue with a side light. The young lady proceeded to tell us it didn't pass inspection b/c it needed tires, and there was an issue w/a side light, but they were looking for the part. So not thinking it was a major problem, we had requested an oil change and said go ahead with the new tires & fix the side light. The next day rolls around and we're told they can't find the part. The car is old, so we're thinking oh my! We just spent close to $700 dollars for a car we'll have to scrap?! Why would they do the other work if they didn't have a supplier for the side light? Not feeling very confident in their response or expertise, we contacted our mechanic in NJ. Told him the issue, and in less than 3 min (no exaggeration) he knew exactly what we needed and where to get it. When we told him the shop here in MD couldn't find the part he laughed. He told us I guess they've never heard of Amazon. We were going to NJ two days later & swung by to see our mechanic. He pulled up the part on Amazon. Told my husband exactly what to order and said if they couldn't figure it out after that to bring it back to him to fix. The part was $8 bucks! Just shy of $800 dollars later & our $8 dollar part procured via Amazon, the car was back on the road. Needless to say we are still looking for a local, trustworthy, competent auto shop. *Btw, they've changed the name to Autostream Car Care Center, Singer Rd, Abingdon, MD

An honest mechanic? Yes! YES!!…read more My story: I'm up here from NC working. Just brought my heavy duty truck in for its first oil change. Then I walked across the street for breakfast (tangent -Sun and Moon Cafe makes a good bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich and the strawberry donut was yum!). I walked back across the street and they waved me inside. I'm having an uh oh moment. They tell me the full synthetic oil change would equal $140+. They wanted to get the go ahead, but they said I could wait another 1000+ miles if I wanted to wait. At that point I said the truck had free oil changes in NC. The master mechanic got on his computer and verified his previous statement. He then recommended I wait til I get home. They had checked fluid levels, etc. and sent me on my way and charged me nothing, zero, zilch. This is unheard of!! If the need arises I'll be back here. If you need an honest mechanic... GO HERE!! If you check out their website you and your friend can…read moreget $25 for the referral, which is quite generous given the great reputation of this repair shop which speaks for itself. I came here due to a check engine light problem on my car. Previous service was done at another repair shop since my car had to be towed and the other shop was closer to the place my car died @_@. Since the check engine light still allowed me to drive it, I decided to try Economy this time on my day off. I made an appointment, which is recommended and which you can do online. I dropped my car off when they opened at 8am. I had to wait a while for my husband to pick me up, so I decided to go to the donut shop next door. They don't have a waiting room (the only negative about this place), but they do have two chairs in the corner that you can use. After a few hours I got a call and found out that I had to replace the catalytic converter (ouch...) which they can order and install on Monday. When my husband and I picked up the car, they did us a favor and cut off the small lock that I used to lock the spare tire in the back. It has such rusted shut and hasn't been opened for 10 years @_@. After they cut the lock off, they even offered to fill it with air when we returned on Monday (awesome) since it was flatter than a flat tire. On Monday they worked at replacing the catalytic converter. They did run into a problem and one of the O2 sensors rusted to it and they couldn't remove it. They did try for an hour but it wasn't going to happen. So we also replaced an O2 sensor which they were able to get within the hour. They were able to finish everything by 2pm. They cost for labor was very modest, and cheaper that I've seen in a while. We also used our AAA discount which saved us a bit on the labor cost too. Overall my husband and I will be using Economy in the future!
