Lovely place, serves modernised Korean food. Looks simple but actually tasty. Loved the Korean wines, go very well with the food served there. Remember to try the pork belly, it was slowly stewed! Wonderful place better than how its menu reads. Will come back again!

Bossam and Odengook

Tonight, I had the bossam, odengook, meshilju and ice cream (ginger and sesame). Everything was REALLY tasty. The pork in the bossam was not greasy at all and the odengook had a surprising SPICY kick (which I loved). The meshilju was SWEET and tasted like a cocktail and the ice cream was perfect finish. The staff was friendly and quick and the venue was chill and relaxing. I hope to re-visit the next time I am in Paris again.

Here we are in Paris, eating Korean food! What can I say- this is what we were in the mood for…read more Our original pick was closed due to a leak. We found this place on the fly, courtesy of Yelp. The only negative about this restaurant is that it was really warm, so warm that we didn't stay for dessert. The food was excellent. We shared bibimbap and bulgogi. Both were really good. To our surprise, the food was brought out within minutes of ordering. We also ordered the excellent banchan. This was wqshed down with some cold soju. The prices weee really reasonable. Jantchi is very similar to the kins of Korean food that we get in NY, but less expensive and a bit faster paced. If you are tired of French food, it's worth a shot.

We probably checked five other Korean restaurants before settling on Jantchi. The restaurant quickly became busy during lunch. However, service was quick and I got my much needed soft tofu soup (soondubu) with the accompanying side dishes in a timely manner. I ordered the lunch soondubu, which was as expected, a bit watered down, but still hit the spot with the sesame oil flavor I was craving for. The egg is already cracked into the soup, which is not as hot as I'm used to. My boyfriend ordered the bibimbap, which came out in the stone pot and was pretty tasty ! We doubled down on the gochujang, and it was enough to keep our Korean cravings at bay for the remaining trip.

I've been to this small Korean-style restaurant near Opera for lunch several times with friends,…read moreand the food has always been very good. They have a large selection of lunch sets (as well as a full menu). They are not a very large restaurant and are rarely very busy, even during mealtime rush hours. It is a nice little place with a cozy atmosphere. Some of the main dishes include ramyeon noodle soup, bbq, bibimbap, various meat/chicken options, and even Japanese-style bento lunches. Each lunch set also comes with salad, tea, rice, and a variety of side dishes (such as kimchi, dumplings, pickled vegetables, sweet-glazed potatoes, etc.). The staff tend to disappear into the back of the restaurant when there aren't many customers, so it might be difficult to get their attention sometimes. They keep very strict operational hours, so they politely make sure everyone is paid and out at least ten minutes before lunch hours end (15h).

This was a fairly decent Korean meal in Paris…read more Reservations can be made on their website if you have basic French language skills. This is highly recommended as it's a small place, and they accepted very few diners without reservations on the night we visited. The interior is quite simple, but the staff were very friendly and spoke pretty good English. There is a tiny restroom upstairs. We each had the "opera" set menu which included fried dumplings, soup, and a choice of entrees. Everything was quite decent. The dumplings were hot and crispy with tasty filling but seemed like they were store bought and not made in house. The soup was decent but a bit bland. I had the bulgogi for my entree which was grilled at the table. It was also decent but not particularly flavorful. It was tender though. Overall a perfectly decent meal for your Korean fix in Paris.
