The massage therapist are really great here . But watch the fine print when you are looking at pricing at the store or on the Groupon . Also they tend to take you a bit late or just on time and don't start the clock when they begin they use the booking time . Not a full 60/90 . They use a type of disposable covering on the table that is very hot and uncomfortable . Tip what you think is fair not what they suggest . read more

Do not get the male masseur if you go unless you want a scrub down with pinches. I had to tell him to stop twice because he was so rough and I was sore for 3 days after and this happened twice with him. all the females are great except him. read more

Giving this place a one star as they are greedy. They do not honor their package deals. I bought a package of 5 massages and get 1 free. Then they increased their prices and I have paid additional for the increased price every time I went back to the massage. But when it came to my last "free" massage, they wanted to charge me a whopping $84 for the exact same massage I got every time. In fact in the past, it always included hot stones, but now it doesn't even include the hot stones and yet they want to charge me for $84! What a scam! I definitely do not recommend this place. read more

11/2021 This Salem foot spa is amazing. I'm so glad we walked past this store as it's open until 9pm. The 3 of us got foot massages. Wow just wow. Probably the best ever. I'm bummed I don't live in the area so I can return on a regular basis. read more

I decided to return after a previous, positive experience with a thorough foot massage, but unfortunately, this time didn't measure up. I booked an appointment using a Groupon for a 1-hour foot massage with a stone treatment and also requested an additional 1-hour body massage. When I called to make the appointment for Friday, November 8th, my birthday, I had to repeat my request several times to the person who answered. The next day, I was informed that Groupon specials aren't accepted on Fridays. That was fine, so I rescheduled for Monday, a holiday. When I arrived, I once again had to explain that I wanted a 1-hour body massage in addition to the 1-hour foot reflexology massage with stone. However, I only received a 20-minute body massage. While my masseuse, Andi, was good, there was a language barrier, and I couldn't get my questions answered. By this point, I felt frustrated and just wanted to finish the session and leave. The foot massage was fine, but my experience overall was disappointing due to the repeated misunderstandings and lack of clear communication. I came to relax but ended up feeling stressed instead. I also would add for what is paid better products need to be utilized. read more

Beware of this business's aggressive and inappropriate tipping demands. The receptionist, who might also be the location manager (see his Venmo image attached) lacks basic customer service skills - no greeting, no smile, and communicates only with an abrupt finger pointing to signal your turn. The real issue, however, is his unprofessional behavior regarding tips. After the service, he requested the tip via his personal Venmo, given my lack of cash to tip the technician directly, which I found strange to send the money to him. Before I could complete the transaction, I got a phone call. While I was on the phone, the receptionist incessantly kept calling me. Once home, I sent the tip and called back to the number that appeared multiple times on my phone. I realized the calls came from this guy (receptionist), who demanded why I hadn't tip yet. This was shocking and highly innapropriate as tips are discretionary, not obligatory. When confronted, he realized I did sent the tip and feigned a lack of understanding and refused to answer my questions about why he was demanding the tip as an obligatory fee. Please approach this establishment with caution. See the low reviews. The majority of comments referred to this business tipping "shamming" and inappropriate ways to approach customers. The BBB should look into this establishment. Something is very shady. This experience was so off-putting that I will certainly not be returning. read more

After two longs days of walking and exploring Salem, we decided to go here before going back to our hotel. The front desk gentleman was very stoic and straight to the point. We were a walk in and wanted two 60 mins body massages. He was able to fit us in right away with no wait. I had a male masseuse and my friend had a female. The massage for both of us was so so good. I came out with no knots and soreness. Highly recommend stopping by and getting some massages done. We might go back to do a foot massage later today!! Good prices for what you get! read more

This place gives amazing massages at good prices. Clean. Quiet. If you are looking for niceties like chit chat and your masseuse's name, this may not be a good fit. If you want a hardcore professional massage that really gets into that muscle, you will get it. Five star massage. read more

Hands-down the best massage in Salem. Asian practitioners start with a thorough soaking of your feet and proceeded to massage various acupuncture points. From there they proceed to legs, hips and body. They are really thorough and able to find the spots where u need TLC. Salon is immaculate, quiet and so relaxing. Lighting is dimmed to induce a chilled vibe. Try it out you won't regret the trip. read more

This was the worst massage i ever received in my life. I purchased an hr massage where i was massaged for the first 30 mins above a towel with elbows where it felt like I was receiving rug burn. The next 30 mins I had a glob of oil spilt in my hair and was only massaged on my back with forearms and elbows. I'm in more pain leaving than when I went in. For the tip you have to "show them" what you tip on Venmo and they exchange it in cash. 0/5 stars do not recommend. read more

For my birthday I decided to give Beijing Herbal Foot Spa a try, after reading all the reviews. Let me say I was NOT disappointed. I opted for package C which was a 30 min foot reflexology and 90 min body work. They started with the bodywork and finished with the foot reflexology. The pressure for both was strong and felt amazing! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the front staff were very friendly. I would recommend making an appointment as they seem to get booked quickly. I will definitely be going back twice a month. read more

This is one of the BEST one hour massages I've ever had. Super relaxing. I fell asleep and that's the goal right? He did a great job with shoulders helped loosen tight spots on my arms and legs. I asked to focus on my feet. 40 minutes of a heavenly foot massage. It was the day after New Years and I was in dire need of a foot massage. Standing in high heels waiting for the ball drop was hell. Longest 13 minutes of my life. Funny though, the one hour massage felt like 5 minutes! Next time I'd be down to do 3 hours! The atmosphere was serene; soft instrumental playing in the background and low lights. I am such a fan of Salem in general. Now I have a legit spot for a great massage when I come back to visit again. I will even buy gift cards here for family. I know they'd love and appreciate it here. read more

Such a hidden gem. Prices for the services here really can't be beat, and they do amazing, healing work.

I got the Full-Body Tui-Na and the foot massage. Excellent work, care was relaxing and the environment was soothing.

I used to enjoy this place but as others have said, they have gotten unbearable with the tip demands. They don't care if the service is good or bad, they hound you for a tip and shame you if you try to leave one that is appropriate with the service. I won't be coming back as I'm sick of being treated this way when it's supposed to be relaxing. Can also always hear people eating and coughing in the back when it's supposed to be relaxing read more

I have been to Beijing several times over the last 5 years! I can't believe I've never left a review! This place is TRULY a hidden gem! Don't let the storefront facade fool you! The one hour inexpensive foot and bodyworks massage is like a little piece of heaven on earth! Every time I've gone (I've gone alone as well as taken friends and relatives) I've walked out feeling like I would just melt into a puddle! This place is so worth it! Go ahead, treat yourself (for short money and a decent, well deserved tip) you will go back again (several times!) S. read more

I really liked this place the first couple of times I went for 30 minute foot reflexology massage...however, I made the mistake of getting a 1 hour foot reflexology massage which included some kind of other "tuina" body massage. BIG MISTAKE. Please be careful here if you have any kind of back/shoulder injury or sensitivity, as I do.... the woman began digging into my back and spine, sitting on me, and leaning her elbows into my back and shoulders. It hurt so much that I sat up and told her to stop. However, she spoke no English, so another massage therapist told her that I was upset and in pain and she stopped!!! It was an awful experience. My back still hurts and I've been putting heating pads on it. I don't think any of the massage "therapists" here are actually trained. I'm in a lot of pain today, so heed my warning. read more

I've been coming here since they opened up about 6 years ago. Most of my prior experiences were well worth the $35 visits it cost before the price increase. But my last visit was the worst massage I've ever had. From the beginning my masseuse (Kelly) had no interest in being there as I could see she wasn't even looking at what she was doing, looking off in every direction but in front. She was essentially going back and forth over the same spots in quick rapid motions. There was barely any of the long meaningful strokes that make the massages soothing and efficient. Just quick up and down jerks using mostly her knuckles and not even her thumbs/fingers. Some were over my bone which just straight up hurt. I didn't say anything in the hopes that it was eventually going to get better but never did. She finally got to my back and went straight in with her elbow. Just daggers in my back, no kneading or using her hands until I finally said to go easy. The last place she touched was my neck in which she essentially shook my spine side to side with no rhyme or reason. If it wasn't for my prior good experiences I would never come back. I walked out with more knots than what I went in with. read more

Wow - this place is FANTASTIC for some foot reflexology and body work. I was feeling sore after hours of driving and walking during a recent trip to Salem and booked one of their specials - 30 minute foot reflexology and 60 minutes body work. It was one of the best, most therapeutic massages I've ever had! read more

If you are a bigger bodied person stay clear of this place! This place is horrible. While I was getting a massage, the receptionist walked by the back and she and the masseuse thought it would be cute to laugh at me while he was trying to work knots out of my back. Then when it was done and I was leaving a tip, the receptionist was like "can you give more" (mind you they had a sign that said cash tips only and I was giving all the cash I had left) so I said fine and venmo'd them and the receptionist made me show her my phone to see how much I was giving. It was humiliating. They should be grateful I wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time is all I'm gonna say!! Do better. read more

1st time checking this place out with my Mom on 6/15. I've had other reflex appointments at other establishments but Wow by far their style compares to no other. We made a 6pm appt as waiting we noticed the reactions from other guest were blown away! I had a woman she was quick so never received her name, but service was Stellar! It was my Mom 1st time and immediately she will make monthly visits. I love how u are not sitting up in a chair like other places and they get almost every inch of your body. I live over an hour away and will do my best to visit when I visit my Mom! Whoa my body still feels amazing a week later! read more

Wow! I just left the spa and had Peter for massage and foot reflexology. I get massages fairly often but Peter really knew the body well and knew was doing, and found the muscle that hurt the most, or was knotted up. He put full effort in, and also was talented!! Salon was cute, clean, comfortable and had me take my temperature on my way in. I live in Boston but will come here again. read more

Be very careful if you have any injury or are sensitive. My guy kept leaning on my back and using his elbow to dig into my spine . Very difficult to understand accents too. Three days later my back is still killing me . read more

Some of the staff are good, others are way too rough and should take massage training again. I like that they don't charge extra for the hot stone and hot towels like most places. I have visiting this spa several times in the past 2 years and it keeps getting better. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. It is easily the best value reflexology and body works massage in the North Shore. I can't wait to go back! read more

Holy mother, is this place ever wonderful. Wanting a massage on a quick overnight trip to Salem, I happened upon this gem. It's definitely a different experience than your typical massage studio. They specialize in a style of massage that is similar to a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu, meaning lots of strokes with plenty of acupressure points to work out the knots, relieve pain and get that lymph flowing. When you arrive, the welcome can be a bit awkward, in part due to a language barrier and in part because some of the people I've encountered at the desk are a little brusque. Services are performed in partitioned off sections of a large, very clean and dimly lit room. It's very spa-like and not at all sketchy. Keep in mind that communal acupuncture and therapeutic massage are typically performed this way in China. You'll be led to a low massage table and left to wonder what's next. Relax, take off your shoes and socks and moments later your practitioner will appear with a luxurious foot soak for you to relax into. You essentially sink your toes into warm water and lay back on the massage table fully clothed to enjoy the head, neck, shoulders and arms portion of your massage. Then your feet are tenderly dried in a fluffy towel and massaged until they feel like clouds. Some stretches, legs massage and then you're flipped so your back and neck can be worked over further. Hot towel wipe down for your feet and viola - you are as relaxed as you've ever been. I've had tons of massage, all over the world - this place is quite special. An hour massage will run you a measly $35 and is consistently good. Some tips to make your trip easier: - Call and book an appointment. - Wear comfortable clothing, basically what you would for a yoga class. - Bring cash. Though they will accept cards for the service, the tip should be in cash. There is a BofA ATM next door. - Come a bit early. There is a large parking lot but it's shared with a bank, starbucks and other businesses so it can take a few (or 15) minutes to find a convenient spot. Leave time as no one needs to get stressed before a massage. - Understand that your practitioner probably speaks very little English but they want to make you happy. If you need more pressure, say "harder please". If it's too hard, say "softer please". I've had three massage there and each practitioner has asked me if pressure was okay and checked in several times during the massage but don't be shy. In closing, this place is fantastic. I live in Maine but bought a package and now drive down once a month to indulge in a little relaxation. A massage here is worth an hour and a half on I-95 and if that doesn't clear things up for you, I don't know what will. read more

5 stars for excellence! I prepaid 5 services and got one free because I knew after my first service that this was a necessary part of my overall health and wellness. My reflexologist worked solely on my achy, dull, strained and pained feet. My feet were cramped and cringed up in my heels when I entered. After my 30 minutes of pampering they are relaxed and at ease. I am a firm believer in Chinese foot therapy. The atmosphere was relaxing, clean and professional. read more

I've become a regular at Beijing Herbal Foot Spa. The staff is super nice and compared to other massage therapy spas you can't beat the price here. Only $35.00 for a full one hour treatment which includes some full body work. I've had the foot reflexology treatment and it's amazing. But I also come in for the TuiNa Body Works one hour massage. It's only $59.00 and every massage therapist I've tried has been really good. Very strong hands. They get in deep with elbows and knees as well. The prices do not include a tip for the therapist. read more

Community style (I.e. keep your clothes on) and super affordable. I enjoyed my head to toe rub down immensely. Quiet space. Calming background music.
