I don't like wearing high heels but there are instances I just could not NOT wear a pair. Like yesterday, I attended a wedding and because I didn't have any footwear that would look good with my red romper, I had to settle for my 4-inch pumps. For other girls, this probably wouldn't be a problem. But for someone as clumsy and untrained with the art of wearing high heels, it was a nightmare.
Oh don't worry. I didn't trip and fell flat on my face or anything. But I did feel my feet hurt 2 hours after I first slipped my shoes on. By the 4th hour, it was practically numb. By the 6th hour, feet officially murdered.
So today I decided to give my footsies a little pampering. I haven't had proper foot massage in a while so I went to Beijing Foot Spa in Silver City right after meeting my best friend in Urban Grind. I tried their 70-minute foot massage (550 pesos). I was led to a room that had two solo couches, both of which had a monitor attached to its right arm. The masseuse said that this is for clients who want to catch a movie during the massage. I opted to forego because I just really wanted to sit back, enjoy my foot massage and maybe catch a nap or two.
The service was impeccable. Christine, my masseuse, first dry massaged my arms and head while she soaked me feet in hot water. Before proceeding to the foot massage, she put a hot compress (I think it had hot stones inside it) on my lower back. Heavenly, I tell you! And then she went for the kill - the actual foot massage. My tired feet were rejuvenated! Since they do reflexology, Christine really concentrated on the parts of my feet that were stressed. And I was able to sleep throughout the foot massage. Definitely top notch for me! Christine was also very nice. I should have tipped her more but I was short on cash. I will return though, ask for her and definitely tip better next time.
So if you are looking for a quality foot massage, I suggest you try out Beijing Foot Spa. While I can't vouch for the other branches, the one in Silver City is great. And while you're there, ask for Christine, she'll make it worth it! read more
