One December weekend, my siblings and I wanted to give my dad a chance to relax and have a spa experience. Unfortunately, the spas in SM Mall of Asia were all booked. In fact, the whole mall complex was teeming with people. My sister suggested a newly opened spa that her officemate tried near MOA.
The location of Baan Khun Thai can be a bit tricky to find because it's at the second floor of Phoenix Gas Station outside the mall complex. But I imagine a lot of people will be visiting the place in droves once the condominiums in the area are finished and fully opened.
I thought that the spa was upscale because of its interior design. Everything looked plush and high-end. But I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of their services. My dad had a 60 minute Thai Body Massage for only PHP 300.00. My sister, meanwhile, wanted something different so she had Deep Hydrating Massage. I settled for Thai Foot Massage.
I love the foot massage, especially when the masseuse used the wooden stick to ease up tensions in my soles. I immediately fell asleep after just a few minutes into the massage. My dad also enjoyed his Thai treatment, although he said it was the first time he experienced someone stretching his limbs. Like me, my sister is also ticklish so I didn't know how she managed to last one hour of body massage. But when she went out to meet us, she was smiling and she felt relaxed. Also, since the masseuse used Almond Oil on her, she felt her knees and elbows were much softer after her session.
Lastly, I like the fact that the spa has a tea bar where you can choose what type of tea to drink after your massage. read more
