Its a family event so tractor rides, petting zoo and a playground are the main attractions besides the strawberries. The products are fresh, all natural, and of course, locally grown. The staff was helpful, and I learned they don't use harmful chemical pesticides or fertilizers, which is a huge plus. The farm stand is a nice size, shaded from the sun, with beautiful views of the Fallbrook hills. Peaceful too! I purchased a few jars of fresh honey and a sourdough loaf, the honey on toasted sourdough was a delicious treat. I also picked up some crisp green beans. They had a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, all of which looked fresh and beautifully grown. I'll be back when I need more fruits and vegetables. They now offer a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription too. I'm looking forward to trying one, since I already get a CSA box from a nearby farm. They offer both delivery and pick-up options. If you appreciate fresh produce, definitely make a stop!

While we didn't buy anything because we were headed to a show and didn't want it to wilt in the hot car. We were pleased by the variety of offerings. Theodore favorite is rainbow chard and they had some for sale. The staff was friendly, it pay what you can with suggested prices and for those who can't afford veggies you can check out in a special line with staff assistance. I purchased 8 pounds from them last week for my husbands poker party last weekend. The two guys who work this are great. Very friendly and very helpful. Tri tip was a hit. --Flower guy - Again, great prices and pretty decent selection. --Fish Taco Lady - Great fish tacos and her shrimp ceviche is AMAZING! I'd definitely go back here again but if you're into buying organic veggies and fruits, there is little to none here so don't bother. I went through the entire market (all 3 aisles) both weeks and the 3 vendors listed above are the best of the bunch. Fill up as much as you can. It was 103 F there in Aug. I could only spent 15 min shoveling. The flies aren't too bad but there are a bunch. The smell is strong, but I got used to it quickly. I had 6 garbage bags full. They didn't make my car smell which was great for my daughter. The compost is visibly helping my garden. I'll definitely go back, maybe in the winter. There are mountains of compost, and all you need is a big car (ideally a truck) and some muscle to scoop them up. Mushroom compost is high in salt so you need to be careful not to use too much with fruit trees. On the other hand, vegetables love mushroom compost. They also sell all kinds of mushroom varieties (Portobello, Shiitake, King Oyster, Cremini, etc.) at their front office for a pretty reasonable price (around $12/lb). Overall, a great place to get free compost, buy fresh mushrooms, and enjoy a country scenery ride in Escondido.
