Both were shockingly rude and dismissive. After our second-to-last visit, the receptionist spoke very disrespectfully to my wife. We chose not to complain at the time, hoping it was an isolated incident. However, during our most recent visit, the dentist himself treated us in the exact same rude manner. It made us regret ever trusting this clinic. To the receptionist: Your role is to help clients, not speak down to them. This is Canada, where respectful and professional service is expected. If your employer hasn't addressed this, the public will. To the dentist: You call yourself a professional, but your lack of empathy and communication skills say otherwise. My wife left the clinic in tears because of how you spoke to her. No one should be treated that way and you have no right to speak disrespectfully to anyone. Its just a shame that a dentist like you doesn't even have a basic communication skill. To the public: Avoid this place. The staff are unprofessional and lack basic respect for clients. If I could give zero stars, I would. We do not recommend this clinic to anyone.

The amount of work my daughter has had on her teeth she should be scared to go to the dentist. She loves seeing Dr. Diya and the hygienists. I can't rave enough about this place. Dr. Diya's caring personality does not go unnoticed. Thank you for just being you.

We brought in our 5 year-old son for a consultation to fix his 8 cavities (yes, we're not good…read morebrushers/flossers) after his general dentist said that he's not experienced enough with young kids. We brought in X-rays, and Dr. Chander maybe spent a minute with us telling what he would do - fix all either with laughing gas or send us to another specialist to fix all at one time under general anesthetic and then he left. We then spent the next 10 minutes talking to the manager about payment options. When I questioned why we couldn't ask for a treatment plan without laughing gas or general anesthetic, the answer I got was, "well, the doctor probably thought he's uncooperative". Since we were uncomfortable with the treatment plan offered, we consulted yet another dentist, and there, the dentist spent 10-15 minutes during the consultation meeting check each tooth over and also testing our son's patience in the chair, needless to say, we went to this dentist to fix his teeth. I have no problems with dental practices needing to make money (especially if they have a fancy waiting room and staff that don't hate you when you walk in). I can also rationalize exceptionally good dentists charging above what is recommended by the provincial dental pay scale (they also will demand the difference between what your insurance pays and what they charge even for a consultation), but what I have a problem with is when a PEDIATRIC dental practice has no desire to determine a child's comfort level in the chair BEFORE recommending a treatment plan. Our son has seen quite a few doctors and specialists and has had a few exams with various machines, and the conclusion after all these exams is how calm he is - in fact, where he got his teeth fixed, he was even used as the example by the parent of a screaming child of how to behave at a dentist's office. Boy, this has turned into a very long review, but we saw the positive reviews from other patients and thought we might be able to get the same - a meaningful consultation with a pediatric dental specialist that would know how to deal with children without having to resort to rendering them dazed and confused. We didn't get that, and in fact, the only thing we did get was a bad taste in our mouths.

We have been trying for years to get her to go to our regular family dentist and the most she would do is sit in the chair. I did a google search for a pediatric dentist that specializes in children with special needs and anxiety and Playtime Pediatrics came up as highly rated. Well they deserve that rating and higher! My daughter was able to go through an entire checkup, cleaning and even x-rays in her first visit. From the moment we entered the clinic, everything was relaxed and easy. Our hygienist Katelyn was so patient, positive and encouraging. She explained everything to my daughter and made her (and me) feel so at ease. Dr. Raylin was just as great and explained all our options for treating some cavities. We are beyond happy to have found Playtime Pediatrics!

Staff at front desk seem very friendly. This was a first time visit for my child and he can be shy and not great in medical settings. The assistant greeted us at the front and we were able to bring toys to the back. They like to take pics and weigh patients but my son wasn't into it so they weren't pushy. They spend time talking about dental habits and had lots of toys and stuffed animals to pretend to clean teeth. There's a TV and lots of books and toys. Definitely very patient staff! Dr. Ella Choi comes in at the end and is super friendly. We as parents assisted with the check up for assessing the mouth. It was quick enough that it didn't seem traumatic for my son. At the end, kids get to go to the toy chest for a treasure. It seemed like a positive enough experience that we booked for a follow up check up in 6 months time for my toddler.

The receptionist who was on the phone would not allow me to speak, it looked like she was on a rush to hangup the phone. She was speaking very fast and not polite. Last time I was at their office they did not book me for the right amount of time and only was able to clean the bottom half of my teeth. I was advising her to book more time so I dont have to come back twice for a simple cleaning. My teeth are sensitive so as a patient they need to listen to my need and put it first. I asked her politely to listen to what I am asking and she tells me I am interrupting her. This is not the right way to treat patients. I hope that office gets the right coaching so they dont behave that way in the future as without patients there will be no business.

I approached this dentist office and told them why I was looking for a new dentist and that all I wanted was a cleaning and if I was happy with them that I would want to become a regular patient. I also told them that I did not have a dental plan thru work and I have to pay for everything myself. When I got to my appointment, everyone I met was rude, arrogant, pushy and condescending. A second dentist had to come in and take over when he heard the first one arguing with me loudly. They forced me to take pictures after 20 minutes of arguing. I paid my bill in the amount of $253.10 and never returned. Six months later they mailed me a different version of the same bill indicating that owe now an additional $38.20
