In fact, the podiatrist I saw before seeing him told me it would be a way worse surgery than Dr. Goforth suggested it would be. As soon as Dr. Goforth saw me, he told me exactly what he could do, how he would fix it, and how often he did the procedure I would need. He was super patient with me when I was unsure of scheduling and understanding that I had to bring my toddler into my consult. As long as I live in the Grand Valley, this will be the person I go to, to solve my foot and ankle problems. The receptionist is a total sweetheart and was patient with my toddler, despite her not being on her best behavior due to her being, well, a toddler. She is super prompt returning phone calls and goes the extra mile to make you feel listened to and cared for.

I had an ingrown toenail that had been removed but it was still very uncomfortable. I went to him and he suggested taking off the entire nail! I thought this was extremely aggressive for something that was uncomfortable and asked if we could take off half. He said we could but that he firmly believed to take the entire nail off. I decided to go with his recommendation. He was so aggressive he completely damaged my nail matrix and it's been over a year and my nail is irreparable- thick, not growing, damaged. To say it looks horrible would be a compliment. He ruined my toenail. Even my toe looks different. He an awful person for doing this level of damage to my foot. He obviously wanted to bill my insurance for the more costly procedure. Stay away from this man. He clearly doesn't care about his patients and has prevented me from ever enjoying a simple walk on the beach or sandals in warm weather.

I injured my foot and Dr Cook took a progressive, logical approach to treating the immediate symptoms, the short-term condition, and provided a longer term preventative strategy for maintaining foot health. Separately - and this is critical, in my opinion: there was unclear ( bordering on misleading) communication by the San Juan front office staff regarding insurance coverage for a particular treatment plan (custom orthotic device). On several occasions, the implication was made that my insurance would process a claim for the devices which turns out was not true, and is rarely true with any insurance provider. Hence, it became apparent after the fact that I would be responsible for the entire bill - which I was not prepared for. After lengthy discussions with both the front office and billing staffs, Dr. Cook stepped in and graciously split the cost with me. This is exceptional, and speaks to the highest standards of business and personal ethics. In these unfortunate times of negotiable integrity, Dr Cook displayed a truly refreshing degree of decency and honor. I am pleased to highly recommend Dr Cook for your podiatry needs, both for his excellent medical care, but also his personal sense of responsibility across all aspects of the practice!

There I sat for the next half hour; no doctor, no assistant, no carpet for the cold floor, nothing to read, no acknowledgement I was waiting. I was on time. Where was the doctor? I found the 40 minute wait demeaning, thoughtless, and unprofessional, so I left. The doc's explanation: "These things happen." Not in a well run office they don't, doc. Here is an indifferent doc in a second-rate office that has a monopoly on foot care in the Montrose Delta region. Why should they care how patients are treated?
