    I just started on a 3 day free promotion pass at befitnyc and I really love it. I plan on becoming a member. So nice to find a gym close to my home that has almost everything I need to work out. This will make my commitment to being healthier much easier to achieve. I love this place. Never crowded, it has such a quiet, wonderful vibe. The owner Fernando, is very nice and very hands on with his clients. The staff is very nice and accommodating. There are great exercise and classes and the small gym is immaculate and has just enough workout equipment to keep everyone happy. They have zumba, body conditioning, yoga and pilates classes. Because it is a new facility, they are still adding new classes and instructors to their roster. Matthew is the best! The facility is beautiful and very clean. There are no showers or water facilities there but there are two small locker rooms for dressing. They also offer free hand towels and bottled water. it is a great boutique gym for serious people in the neighborhood that need to get in and out quickly.

    Awesome gym and everyone here is really friendly! I attend through ClassPass and I do wish they had more barre classes.

    This studio is super clean, new, and has great sculpting/strength-training classes on Classpass! I'd go more if I lived nearby.

    Nora's kickboxing class was fabulous! She kicked my butt. Gorgeous studio sunshine and great instructor! A NYC must!

Anthony and Chris run a highly personalized operation, each working closely with their own clients to develop customized training programs tailored to individual goals. Sessions rotate focus areas -- arms, chest, legs, core, etc. -- creating a well-balanced, full-body approach. They have an intuitive sense of the right weights and exercises, pushing you to improve while always being mindful of limits and proper form. The gym itself is never overcrowded, which allows for focused training and creates a friendly, supportive atmosphere. After five months working with Anthony for one hour per session twice a week I've seen significant improvement in my back, along with increased strength and muscle definition that have meaningfully improved my day-to-day life. He is kind, gentle, and encouraging but also pushes me always to do my best and work my hardest. In addition, I'm a person who always gets injured when I exercise, but no longer! Fred is so careful and cautious in his training that I've never even felt a strain from my workouts. It's almost like physical therapy in many ways! Re: COVID safety concerns: This gym is different than most gyms where you hire a personal trainer because at SlowBurn, you and your trainer are the only ones in the gym (vs being in a gyms with tons of people). I highly recommend trying a session if you're ready for something new that works.

I would highly recommend reading Fred's book first , "The Slow Burn Fitness Revolution" which is available on Amazon and hopefully will be in e-book format soon. The book can be read in under two hours but gives you a great holistic view of what you are about to undertake in terms of training and even diet. The gym is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. It's cozy but has more than enough room to accommodate at least three personal sessions going on at one time. While I have not worked with all the trainers, the ones I have worked with have been enthusiastic, helpful, encouraging and knowledgeable. Like any personal training sessions they are definitely pricey but the view here is that with this type of work out, you really only need 1-2 sessions per week to see results. If money is tight you can do one home session (which is detailed in his Book) and one gym session per week. Because you are using one slow set to failure, working out at home is not that hard and minimal equipment is needed. I can't think of anything I'd change about Serious Strength and it's a pleasure to be able to focus on training when actually training and not be barraged by gym full of people.

(Rain or shine!) Joseph is very sweet, but he will definitely make you want to push hard. He's very accomodating when it comes to injuries or diferent levels of fitness. I'd say so far, sometimes it starts a little slowly, but 15 minutes in, I'm definitely sweating. He really motivates us and keeps us going for the full duration of the class. The kids get to be wheeled around in the stroller and watch me work my tail off! the cool thing is that we are always moving from place to place during the class so the kids don't get antsy in the stroller. To them it's just a regular 1 hour walk in the park...(if only they realized how hard I was working!). I noticed a dramatic increase in muscle strength after only a couple classes. After 4 classes my body shrunk and my pants were loose! I will def continue with the next season and I am positive I will be able to wear my old "pre-baby" bikini this summer. This class is good for all moms, but specifically the moms who worry about lining up child care in order to go workout --- that's totally unnecessary with this class... buckle the babies/kids up and take them with you to this class! PS- I should mention I had not exercised in 3 years prior to doing this bootcamp AND I bring both my kids in the double stroller and I was still able to keep up. I also felt weak, sleep deprived, lazy, and it actually helped me with all those problems.
