As it is a season for gratitude and reflection, I cannot think of anything I am more grateful for this year than meeting Amanda and getting to work with her. Amanda does not just teach fitness, she promotes a lifestyle that is rich with self love, self care and inspiration. I have struggled with weight, exercise, bad eating habits for the majority of my life, not only that, but how I see myself and carry myself in the world which has primarily been negative for as long as I can remember. Amanda is exactly what I wanted in a trainer -- someone who won't let you slack but will push you with positivity, not negativity. She will kick your ass, but she'll do it with a gigantic smile that's contagious. The best part about a good trainer is that they don't force you to do things, they empower you. I have been working with Amanda for 8 months and it has been an amazing journey. I was looking for someone that would include yoga as part of the workout and in that I not only continued my love for yoga but was introduced to a love for boxing!! Who would have thought two things that seemed so different would help me not only get in shape but grow as a person. Amanda's class has officially changed my life. I started taking her yoga class after losing my Dad about a year ago. Since then I have lost 40 pounds but more importantly, I have gained a mental strength that I never imagined I would possess. Amanda has helped me cultivate a self-loving attitude. 1 Year!!! Saturday, June 29, 2013, 9:30am - my workout affair with Amanda Rose Wellness developed. After 5 yrs of heavy transitions and many lbs gained, I decided that enough is enough!! 3 months of online searching and I found Amanda - this trainer with a Masters in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University; boxing champion, yoga trainer and certified personal trainer. Since then: - I feel amazing - I am boxing; I am TRX; I am doing yoga!! (Yes yoga with the whole nine Shirshasana, dogs, frog , pigeon , cow and all other creatures. Shavasaana is still my favorite!!!); I am running. All of them every week!! - I am drinking my greens - at least once per week - I know to buy Himalayan Crystal salt instead of table salt ( helps regulate your blood sugar, water and PH levels..) - I know how to make a delicious healthy shake every morning - I know what is Maca and Chlorella ( the Greenest of All Superfoods). And I am eating them too. - I lost a considerable amount of weight Give a girl the right trainer and (of course) a pair of shoes...and she can conquer the world!!! I have only known Amanda for a short period of time and have taken some of her fitness and yoga classes. I must agree with everything everyone else has written. She is great at pushing you at what serves you best in the moment with positive motivation. The thing that stood out most for me was her emphasis on proper structure and form in all exercises and positions.
