Solid cookie experience. A very trendy take on classic cookies with rotating flavors…read more GLOWS: - Both cookies I tried were pretty good. The chocolate chip had huge chocolate chunks and came warm. The strawberry short cake was just as good and came chilled. - The inside decor is minimal, but the packaging is cute and fits the trendy aesthetic. It's cool to see the staff working like a machine to produce the cookies with the open kitchen area. - They also have a traditional ordering counter along with electronic ordering within the store (card only), so it helps to move the line. -I didn't try the ice cream, but they also serve ice cream and they have milk--- for the milk & cookie lovers. - I love that they rotate flavors so that customers are always getting a new cookie experience, but if you find something you like, they might not have it when you return. GROWS: - Storefront is pretty small. There can be some confusion on who is waiting to pick up and who is in line to order. - They advertise the calorie count of a cookie based on 1 serving. It is to be noted that a cookie has between 4-7 servings. So seeing 160 calories is misleading when it is really anywhere between 640 and 1,120 calories. Keep that in mind.

Great little shop in Leonardtown! On New Year's Eve, my sister-in-law took all the girls to…read moreLeonardtown to do some walking and window shopping while the boys went golfing. She brought us to Heritage Chocolates which is located in an old house. It's super cute inside with the left half as an open kitchen. You get to see all the yummy things they are cooking up! They have a large room at the front of the house with a velvet couch with the chocolates and candies displayed on bookshelves. You'll find more in the hallway and they also have a selection of handmade gelato in the back. We picked up some chocolate covered strawberries that were being made for NYE, chocolate covered pretzels and a chocolate covered apple. The gal who took care of us included an extra chocolate covered strawberry because she felt that a couple of the strawberries was on the smaller side. I thought that was so sweet! All items purchased didn't last long. We had 8 people in the house, so you can imagine the speed of distribution and consumption. The strawberries were definitely a hit and great little treat to end the year on a sweet note! Stay safe, Friends!

I'm not aware of any other chocolate store like this in Southern Maryland. The place had ample…read moreselection of chocolate covered oreos and fruits and nuts, as well as boxed assortments, a ton of Easter bags, and gelato. I wasn't expecting the gelato, but it looked good so I gave it a shot. And I must say, the mint chip, which actually didn't look as appealing as the other flavors in the display, was quite impressive. There were a ton of fine chocolate scrapings inside that gave a slightly bitter contrast to the sweet and aromatic mint. The other flavor I tried was strawberry, which was forgettable by comparison. I did get a chocolate box sampler. The ones I've tried have been good, though I'm a bit peeved it isn't labeled. This place did not seem to be one that offered a ton for the dairy-free crowd or the allergen crowd, so figure there's a lot of dairy and nuts going on here. But if you eat those things, you'll be satisfied.

For me, I am a happy camper as long as an ice cream shop has vanilla, chocolate, cookies n cream, or mint chocolate chip...and The Ice Cream Place had those. :) *I"m pretty "boring" when it comes to my ice cream flavors.* Prices were a bit higher than I anticipated (especially since they don't post prices), but I think that's the way things go on the Boardwalk. I had no concerns reading the service and ambiance of the ice cream shop. Although The Ice Cream Place is worth a visit, especially if you have the young ones with you, I would not go too far out of my way to visit. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of ice cream.
