Wont be going back. Got beer today that was YEARS past its "best by" date. Reading other reviews it seems this has been an ongoing issue with the place for quite some time. Wish I checked the beer before I bought it but I guess I never thought a store would sell beer YEARS past its expiration date. Shame because they have some good stuff in there. read more

I don't know how this place has the rating it has because this store is bad. I visited here a couple of weeks ago & I was shocked to see how much beer was expired. Every single beer I touched in the store was expired & not by a little but by a lot. Now, expired beer won't make you sick but it won't taste good. So keep that in mind. I don't know the liquor laws in Florida but the fact that their inventory is so congested I can't imagine they have any idea what they have on hand. Clean it up guys. read more

Beer World of Largo has pluses and minuses Pluses include the vast selection of beer and wines. They have beer from all over the world. Czech, Polish,Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, US, etc. check out the pictures. you can find any beer or hard cider or related types. Also close to major roads and easy to get too. Minuses include the store is packed so only one thru an aisle at a time. Lots of boxes in aisles and at front if store. I've been here three times and always packed. Another minus is the pricing. Beer usually a couple dollars per six pack higher than Publix or other stores. Copolla wine was 19.99 vs 12.99 at Costco and 14.99 at Publix. Recently saw Polish beer that went from 12 per six pack to 2.79 ea. Red stripe here was18.89 vs 14.99at Publix So expect to pay a lot fir the beer or wine. Biggest negative is the smell. It stinks like cheap perfume masking a Cheech and Chong bathroom!!! Bottom line is if you want a rare beer get it here but expect to pay a lot. Also hold your breath. If you can get your beer at Publix go there. read more

Beer World is a textbook example of not judging a book by its cover. Behind the somewhat ghetto exterior of a converted Circle K convenience store lies a mecca of beer goodness. Ignore the exterior windows filled with neon signs for the big commercial brewers like Budweiser, Miller, and Coors. You aren't at your local 7/11. Instead make it to the back two rows of the store plus along the refrigerator wall and savor a world of Belgian, German, British, Polish, and domestic craft beers. All the big names can be found here and every square inch of the place is loaded with boxes and racks of beer. A small selection of what they have to offer includes the following domestic micros: Bell's, Brooklyn, Cigar City, Coney Island, Dunedin, Dogfish, Harpoon, Magic Hat, Ommegang, Rogue, and Terrapin. And outstanding Belgians like: Affligem, Chimay, Delirium, Duvel, Gulden Draak, St. Bernardus, and Saxo. Most selections are available in room temperature 4, 6, and 12 packs. But you can also mix and match among the refrigerated back wall and there are coolers of some of the more popular champagne style 750ml bottle conditioned beers too. The prices are probably slightly above average. It's definitely not as cheap as Total Wine, but with that being said - it's a local business and I don't mind spending a dollar or two more to support a small mom and pop place. The only other thing to keep in mind is to check date on your bottles because they do tend to carry a lot of older stock. With a selection as wide and varied as Beer World's this can be expected since there probably isn't an audience for everything they carry. Overall, a pretty amazing store and worth a trip to poke around for 30 minutes and see what they happen to have in stock. So if you are in the Largo area, I would recommend that you stop in. read more

Good selection of beer, crazy variety. Could not believe some of the stuff that was on the shelves, but as Kim W mentioned....the prices could be better. Found 2 of the hard to find beers I purchased there at Lueken's for $2 less. Each. Dangit! (That adds up!) And, for sure check the expiration dates. I found stuff that was 1 and 2 years past the sell by date, so it stayed on the shelves. But you can certainly find some "Holy Grail" type beers here. Nice staff, they offer a 10% off discount if you buy 6 or more beers. It's worth a stop for the savvy shopper! read more

An awesome collection of beers, however you must check the best by dates. Found too many that were five years past their best by date.

There is a treasure trove of craft beer in this place. It looks like not many people shop here because they manage to have all of the beer my local Total Wine or ABC Liquors sold out of in a day. That might be due to the prices. They are at least a couple dollars more per bottle than other stores I shop at. That means you end up with bottles that have been sitting there for years untouched, so you have to be careful when buying from here. If you're willing to drop a few extra dollars to ensure you get your hands on those hard-to-find beers, then this place is a must-visit. Just make sure to check the dates on the bottles before you buy. read more

I couldn't believe the expanse of single beers they had to mix and match a 6'er. My recommendation is to be leery of dusty bottles on the shelf, and stick with beers in the cooler that get cycled on a regular basis. I had no idea this place existed and I'm so glad we stumbled upon it. Our family lives over this way and highly suggested we come here since we were in the hunt for some amazing beer to purchase! Holy Beer World it is! I was SO amazed by the selection of beers that they had! It was jammed packed each aisle from floor to ceiling having amazing beers to choose from. My only recommendation would be to have it labeled/organized better since it is in such a small/cramped space. The service was outstanding! Great place to find rare beers. Some are outdated or expired so pay close attention. The prices can be a little high but not bad for the beers which are harder to come by. Owner gives a discount for buying 6 packs and you can create your own from their selection of single bottles. read more

Great selection and prices. Order your beer kegs here. Used to carry Chili beer until distributors set the minimum order too high for the few packs sold. It's a fun tasty beer with a green chili pepper in the bottom of the glass bottle. Flavorful and quite refreshing if icy cold. We use dare each other to eat the whole pepper - they'll blow your socks off. Very hot! Beer came from an Arizona brewing company. Not a big store. No wait. Meet the owner Maresh(?). Last time I will go to this place. First prices are not marked on most of their products. Second, today was the third time I was at this place. Each time the sales clerk was not very friendly. Today he was out right rude to me in front of another customer. I was prepared to spend over $300 on beer. I first tried to find the beer, I asked and he told me, I still could not find it, I asked again and he rudely said "I told you were to find it" So I did find it and then I told him I found it and he said "No not there" and I said yes it is what I want, he said again, "no not there" this went on 1 more time. He then threw his hands up in disgust. I told him how rude he was to me and said I would buy my beer some where else. I ended up going to Total Wine and More and they were so happy to help me find the beer that I wanted, gave them the $300 instead. read more

From the outside, this little store doesn't look like much at all. Even the inside seems like a bit of a shambles, with beer cartons stacked to the ceiling and very narrow aisles. Nonetheless, it is the best place in the area to buy imported and craft beers. Ironically, I'm willing to bet that most of the money spent in that store is on the piss-grade swill I see so many customers walking out with. The cooler in the back of the store mostly houses mainstream domestics. The one on the side has singles of imports and microbrews. That may be a great way to sample something you never had before but its also the expensive way. Most of the craft beer in six-packs are sold at room temperature. The shelves are packed with an amazing plethora of beer from Germany, England, Belgium, India and beyond. If you're in the mood for Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse, this is the place to get it. The selection blows away that of ABC Liquors. I've yet to see Sami Claus in any other store. England's Samuel Smith is always in stock at Beer World as is one of my favorites, Celebrator. As far as high quality domestics go, I can always find Three Philosophers out of Cooperstown and another fave, Old Rasputin from North Coast Brewing. The store is great about stocking seasonal beers like Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout for the winter. In fact, they even carry tougher finds like Brooklyn Local One. As an added bonus, Beer World carries mini-kegs of Dinkel Acker. The only thing you need to watch out for at Beer World is the age of the beer. If the label has a date, I suggest you pay it mind. Since more people buy Busch and Natural Light than Orval Trappist Ale, a lot of the good stuff tends to sit around for a while. Granted, its hard to gauge a beer's age based solely on the thickness of the bottle's dust layer but you can always ask. The store is run by a very charming couple that has no problem telling you how long a beer has been there. You really can't go wrong with Beer World when it comes to variety. The prices are typical of any store selling quality beer. If you're biggest concern is drinking cheap, just stick to Hamm's. read more

I've checked some expiry dates and they've been a year or more off but still he has a great selection and as long as you check the dates you should get some quality beers. read more

The single beer cooler is at least 7-8 doors. Staff is friendly, it is literally floor to ceiling beer. Local variety, etc, etc. stopped at another store south of here last week. No contest, this is the place. The prices are more than competitive; 6pks of local at $9.99 that are $10+ at the grocery stores. My favorite brand is priced the same as Sams. Beer World is one of those places you tend to drive right by without giving it a second thought. This may be a good thing for craft beer fans looking for a hard-to-find brew. I was amazed at the selection of beers this place carries. My NC Total Wine has not had a large selection of Dogfish Head in stock since Brewmasters has started on Discovery Channel--Beer World had Fort, Theobrama, several different 4 and 6 packs (to name a few) in stock. They even had some bottles of the 120 Minute IPA in the fridges! While the prices may be slightly higher than Total Wine, their selection is orders of magnitude better than you will find most other places. As a local establishment, I don't mind dropping some extra cash to support a place like this. My most recent visit had me stocking up on several mix and match cases of Cigar City to take back up north. The staff was very helpful and got me everything I needed. I also loaded up on some 750 ml bottles of Cigar City and a few other breweries that are not available in NC. Bottom line: make sure you stop in when you get the chance. This place will surprise you (in a good way!). read more

What a smelly dump. They have lots of bud light etc... And some varieties of craft beers but the smell and lack of Air conditioning drove me away. It was so hot in there it can't be good for the beer. read more
