My mother and I have used this salon. We used to be regulars at a Gene Juarez salon in Eashington State. I've also used a wonderful woman in Plano who charges 100$ per haircut. It was a great haircut I used her for many years. I personally found d the Beehive to be congested in the entry, bam the check in desk is right at the entry. It isn't very clam. My stylist has her own room. It's filthy and unorganized. Hair color stains all over her chest and supplies, it's a mess. I will not be returning. I know this isn't Dallas. But there is no reason for filth. Your Salon represents you. Think on that. My cut was okay. But nothing much was done and my bangs or side pieces weren't touched. Not happy. read more

So grateful to the kind and extremely accommodating team! (That means you, MACEY!) I was in town for a wedding, was stressed and amped up due to a fun wedding weekend with my friends. I was referred to the salon by a hairdresser in town, as I am African American and not everyone can do my hair. I am picky to begin with, but add 90 degree weather + hair that has a lot of "new growth" right now = one obnoxious New Yorker. (I was also 15 minutes late, which was rude- sorry, ladies!) Macy was sweet, tenacious and strategic in her efforts to get my hair looking "just like the picture" I gave her. She ignored my consistent "you may want to try this..." and my obvious doubt that the end product would be satisfactory. I was wrong- the result was a solid blow-dry that HELD UP at an outdoor wedding insane heat. Finally, my Cash App was not working...so she was kind enough to allow me to pay her via Square. I went for my first time today and saw Raul. He got me in and out on my lunchbreak (even though I was running late from a meeting) and he was sooo nice. Best part is I just needed a trim, since I'm growing it out, and he really didn't take much off at all, but it looked so much better! Also didn't try to upsell me a bunch of expensive products, and he is so nice! I had been waiting and looking a while for a stylist since moving here, and I'm so happy I found Raul. Macy is so sweet and she always makes my hair look amazing! I went in yesterday to get get a significant change--I wanted to take off 4-5 inches and add in some lighter pieces and she made the time fly by! I've gone to her several times and each time I'm thrilled with the result. I was a little hesitant at first of finding somewhere in Victoria to get my hair done but Macy and the Beehive staff go above and beyond to make everyone who comes in to feel welcomed. The first time I went, she fit my daughter & I both in for haircuts as well as highlights for me & she had her daughter's bday party to go to. I never felt rushed or like we inconvenienced her. Stephen did AMAZING on my hair I am completely obsessed with it. I wanted a bit of a balayage with cool blonde and to blend a set of new extensions. My hair often pulls very orangey or gold, but the blonde turned out very cool and absolutely perfect! My extentions now blend perfect with my hair. I was one of the last clients in the salon and Stephen did not make me feel rushed or like he was in a hurry to get done, which I appreciated so much. I found Beehive through the Bumble and Bumble network salon locator. I was particularly interested because they are a Bb. Exclusive Salon which means their stylists come to Bb. University for education on cutting, coloring, and styling--so rest assured "they're among the industry's best." However, I beg to differ. Don't let the trendy vibes and friendly faces fool you. I happened to meet the owner, Stephanie Perry earlier this week. During our conversation, I tried to get a feel for her experience and knowledge. I asked her for her honest opinion about her stylists knowledge, training, and experience. She assured me that all her stylists are well qualified. I told her that I was interested in getting bayalage highlights and she had recommended her stylist Barbie Frederiksen. Prior to my hair color appointment, I met with Barbie for a consultation. She told me that she has had 10+ years of experience and assured me that she knew what she was doing. I laid out all my cards on the table during the consultation. I told her that I wanted a "sunkissed" look and did not want any orange or brassy tones, any "chunks" of color, and to stray away from an ombre dipped ends appearance. I was very clear on my expectations and even provided multiple pictures so that she could see what I wanted. Barbie is super sweet and friendly, but I am so unhappy with how my hair turned out. It looks so incredibly cheap with dreadful orange and brassy tones. There are multiple spots of color where it looks like someone slapped a paintbrush on my hair. It literally looks like random blocks of color. It's awful. This is definitely not worth the $150 bill. The purpose of this review is not to bash or defame Beehive, but to express my utmost dissatisfaction with the quality of service that they have provided me. read more

I have been here a few times for a quick wash cut and style! The staff is friendly and place is clean! Lauren has cut my hair each time and I have left pleased every time! They do accept walk ins but I'm sure they prefer appointments. I have never made appointment and have had no trouble getting my cut quickly last minute if needed! Today my mom came into Beehive for a big chop. She scheduled a 1:30 appointment with Angie, and was very disappointed with the outcome of her haircut. It seemed as though there was little effort being put into the job, and that the stylist was rushing to finish. My mom wanted a mid-shoulder cut with subtle waves, but was given an above-shoulder cut with tight bed head curls. Her hair was not washed and the stylist, Angie, spent more time spraying hairspray than actually cutting the hair. There were visuals provided, but they were followed to no prevail. My mom made sure to make it clear that curls do not stay in her hair, and that she didn't usually use styling tools in her every day routine. But Angie insisted on curling her hair, which my mom did not want. Overall, the job was very sloppy and unprofessional. Angie was very kind but not very accommodating. It was very clear what was wanted of her, and she still did what my mom definitely did not want to be done. read more

I wish I could write reviews per stylist because the overall atmosphere of Beehive is nice. It's quieter than some salons can be. The one time I spoke with the owner I thought she was nice, genuinely interested in what I had to say & professional. I'd like to note that the stylists I have not been to & Stephanie V., who has always done a great job on my nails are not part of this review. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences with two hair stylists who currently work here. One double processed my hair causing my scalp to have oozing blisters the next morning & flaking for some time. This was a year ago days before my bridal pictures at another salon. At my hair appointment the following month, I was surprised to see her again at the station right next to my now former stylist. I had been seeing my former stylist since she started in Victoria at another salon which has been 3 years or so. Never had a problem until a few months ago when I wanted to make a couple changes. Her demeanor & tone towards me quickly changed. She was quickly defensive & easily irritated. Like she has gone to school for cosmetology so I should just shut up & take her word. Excuse me but it is my hair & I pay you for your services. If you feel you aren't charging enough & doing more than you should, that is your responsibility to charge your clients appropriately & set standards that you'd like upheld. Anyway, a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to get extensions. I researched which brand & method I thought I'd like & found a place in Houston. In what I thought would be a courtesy to my stylist, I let her know my plans at my next appointment with her. Boy did that backfire! Ultimately she convinced me to go with her & her preferred brand & method of extensions. Why wouldn't I trust her. She'd been working on my hair for years & despite her poor communication skills lately, she'd never damaged my hair. Until now. Within a week 3 extensions were falling out in the same area. She reapplied them between clients. At which time she also pointed out breakage & damage to my hair in the back claiming they were caused by my clips. Clips I've used for years with no damage. Clips I haven't even used since before she put the extensions in. After that rushed appointment I noticed my hair was unevenly cut. To which she admitted she should have checked after reapplying the extensions but also my hair was wavy so she didn't notice. My hair is always wavy & it is noticeable. She told me to straighten my hair myself so she could fix the unevenness as again she would be fitting me in between clients & wouldn't have time to do so herself. Really? Wow! I don't straighten or use heat tools myself but for special occasions when I feel like doing so. But for you to fix your negligence, I have to? No ma'am. I think I deserve to be treated better. I don't know why all of a sudden she is treating me so poorly & frankly I don't care anymore. Any personal issues should stay just that with business separate. Communication & good customer service go a long way in maintaining a successful business. Research & ask for stylist's credentials & portfolios. Reputable stylists won't be offended! read more
