We purchased 3 snack packs for a discount. 2 bags were black pepper. Unfortunately, those 2 bags were defective and had no pepper, no seasoning at all. Employee didn't seem to be very kind, we wanted one of their flavors of jerky we had been looking forward too and the shelves were mostly empty. They had boxes of jerky they needed to unpack and instead of finding it for us or offering us something similar she just said no we're out and then continued talking to the other employee in sarcasm about doing their jobs. read more

If you like beef jerky then this is the place for you. Cute little place with a welcoming environment that greets you right when you walk in. Staff acknowledges you right away offering tastes of anything in the store. They offer beef,pork, bison, ostrich, venison, and chicken. All different flavors and sizes to choose from. I asked what the most popular were. Crawfish infused, the prime rib, and the Bloody Mary. I got all three. All were really good and tasty. Everything was moderately priced. I am a bit of a jerky aficionado. Ever since I was a wee lad, I've sought out new and unique types of jerky. It is quite possibly the perfect snack food especially on a road trip or just sitting at your desk while writing yelp reviews. Most gas stations have a very limited selection though and that's where The Beef Jerky Outlet comes in. This store was filled with so many different types and flavors of jerky that my head nearly exploded when seeing them all. Most were kept in large barrels around the store and samples were freely given. Each employee carried a pair of scissors and tongs for samples so the whole process is pretty hygienic. After sampling probably six different flavors, I settled on their blazin hot beef jerky and a sweet turkey jerky. The turkey jerky was very soft and sweet. It was unlike any jerky I had ever had, but not really something I would like to eat regularly. If you don't like bold, spicy flavors, this could be a good starter jerky for you. The blazin hot lived up to its name. It was so hot that it made me sweat. I would have preferred more flavor in addition to the heat, but I did enjoy it. The jerky at the store wasn't cheap. I think my 1 lb bag was close to $30 which was far more than the $17 I thought I was going to be paying, but what the hell? I was on vacation and wanted some jerky. If you are a lover of jerky, this is the store for you. read more

I can't believe I forgot to review this place when I went to Galveston last month! It is amazing! An absolute must visit for AMAZING jerky for all taste buds! It is only opened until about 5 or 6 and we came at the last possible momemt. The young girl that helped us was so kind and knowledgeable about her product! We purchased Garlic Jerky and it was simply wonderful! I pride myself in having a Grandfather that makes Beef Jerky and he definitely has competition in my eyes with this place! Really unique jerky shop- very knowledgable staff that can help you find what you want. We came in looking for some jerky that could be a good protein snack without a string of unnecessary ingredients. They have everything. The refrigerated section has they healthier line of jerky, a bit more expensive (about $10-15) a bag depending on the meat- and I'm talking meat from ANYTHING (buffalo, alligator, kangaroo?!?) They also let you try any jerky which is really nice. I've never seen so many different flavors. Something to check out for sure. read more

This place was awesome! When we walked in, we were encouraged to try all the sample jerky we wanted ( free jerky is always good!) We liked some so much we actually bought a couple! I love all the fusions they had. I got grabbed some of the wild boar jerky, my boyfriend grabbed some ostrich. We also grabbed a bog of their pepper jerky. It was all so good! read more

This is a really cool shop if you are a beef jerky lover. They have over 200 flavors. You can try any flavor with assistance from staff. They have some really funny shirts, not appropriate for all ages. We ended up buying two different flavors! It was fun! The staff was very friendly. read more

Visited the Beef Jerky Outlet on The Strand on June 19, 2017. We have shopped here before and always enjoyed the experience. You can taste any of the jerkies they have and I recommend you do so. We are partial to the Cherry Maple and to the Cracked Pepper varieties. Great snacking items as well as gifts for friends. Now when we go to Galveston, friends ask for jerky instead of saltwater taffy. read more
