I stopped by on a whim for a treat to bring some family and it was one of the only vegan friendly places in the area. I don't even generally like or eat donuts but honestly these were the most amazing impressive ones I've ever had. The fresh fruit flavors were delicious and it kind of felt like a combination between cake and pie in some of them. I shared them with my non vegan family and everyone was blown away and they ate a few more than they planned on and said they couldn't tell these were egg or dairy free in any way. Everyone was pleased. I'll have to stop by again for an occasional treat in future. My favorites were the peach crumble, blackberry fritter and apple fritter. The only thing I'd ask is that they fix the website so that you can actually read the menu of donuts from your phone. It only shows a few and it's impossible to see the whole list by month and doesn't scroll or shrink and please open a shop in Toronto or Mississauga! read more

Hands down the best doughnuts that I've ever had!! This says a lot because I love doughnuts!! Came by over the weekend, because I was in the area. I fell in love as soon as I walked in! They had many flavours to choose from. I got to try a few flavours, and my personal favourites are the Maple Dip doughnut, the Sprinkle doughnut, and the Cookies N Creme doughnut. I didn't get a chance to try the others, but when I'm back in the area I will definitely drop by to get/try the other flavours. The staff here were pretty nice and friendly as well. The doughnuts are okay, but very sweat. Extremely decedent, you easily can have your sugar craving satisfied with any option. I often feel glutinous after eating 1/2 of their sweater options. Not being vegan that aspect doesn't really matter to me at all, I just like sweats of any kind. read more

While standing in the shop, I googled *again* to confirm that Beechwood Doughnuts is 100% vegan. I just couldn't believe it! They are so nonchalant about their veganism (which, for the record, I love) that I kept second-guessing it. I live an hour east of Buffalo so I'm not in Canada super often... we had to try as much as possible while we were there! When beechwood doughnuts first opened in St. Catharines, my friend said we had to try it out. At first, i did not see what all the hype was... they're just doughnuts. But when i tried the cookies n creme doughnut - i was amazed. All products are vegan and the kitchen is transparent. The staff is friendly as well. The only downfall about this establishment is that it is closed on Sundays. Best donuts ever - vegan or not. No question. My husband and I live in Toronto and anytime we are within 30 min of St. Catharines we need to make a trip to Beechwood. Seasonal flavours are always great (right now their Berry Pie is unfairly good) but their classics are honestly where it's at for me: apple fritter (you will not find a better one anywhere, vegan or otherwise) and cinnamon sugar are hot fire. I'd recommend their fritters or filled donuts over the yeasted ones with fun toppings if only to really see how these donut geniuses really flex their skills. Located in downtown St.Catherines Beechwood Doughnuts was recommended to us by a local woman we met at the lake. I wish there was the birthday cake doughnut to try but going so late at night we were limited. I absolutely loved these doughnuts. The actual doughnut itself is very soft and fluffy and the maple was my favorite! My husband was a huge fan of the fluffiness but I felt like I was eating a cloud and loved it. The location was great and easy to get to and the employees were nice. I loved the art work located near the check out area. These are really decadent vegan donuts. Perfect for those looking for a sweet treat in the St Catherine's area. Also there's a really great store next door that sells local crafts that you can check out if you're stuck waiting for the line to die down. I went on a Saturday when the store opened and there was already a line. The wait wasn't too bad because people were fairly quick with their orders. The staff were very nice and friendly as well. I had the French toast and it was one of the best donuts I've had, it was light and not overly sweet. The oreo donut I had was pretty good but on the sweet side because of all the icing. The last donut I tried was the banana chocolate chip fritter and I liked that one the least. The flavour of the donut itself was good, but it was kind of gross to eat. When I bit into it, it was filled with oil and with every bite I took, it felt like cold oil being squeezed into my mouth. (I ate it about 15 minutes after I got it from the store, so it should be fresh) That side of the box and paper was covered in oil because of the fritter. Not sure if it was an off day or if it's normally like that. Other than that, the donuts itself are very soft and has a nice bite to them. Ok, these donuts are AMAZING. I drove all the way to St. Catherine's from Toronto on a Saturday morning just to get these, and let me tell you, it was WELL worth it. Expect to wait in a line, we got there essentially right when it opened, and we were still maybe the 10th people in line, but again, it's very worth it, get yourself a coffee or something before you get in line, and just hang out. It moves pretty quick :). I got cookie dough, lemon poppy seed, birthday cake, peach fritter, blackberry-raspberry fritter (featured), & french toast. And, yes, I did try a piece of them all. Each one was more amazing than the last, they were light, fluffy, crispy on the outside, and so flavourful. I was in donut heaven!!! My daughter and I went here last April. I'd heard SO many good things about these donuts we had to see (or taste I guess, lol) for ourselves. First, the fact that they're vegan and you wouldn't even know it, blew us away. They are seriously some of the best donuts I've ever had, and I lived in NC last year, it's practically a donut state so I know what I'm talkin' about. They have something for everyone, they're huge, and they do seasonal flavours which I think rocks!
