I got a tattoo from Bee yesterday and I couldn't be more happy with it. I also liked that the shop was in a convenient location off the highway and had parking. I had an idea of what I wanted that wasn't super solid and Bee drew up a bunch of sketches and got exactly what I wanted. Each of the dragonflies was a slightly different sketch, he didn't reuse any of them! The tattoo was quick and relatively painless and I could tell he had a lot of skill since he's been tattooing for over 20 years. He was very efficient and a cool dude. The atmosphere is really comfortable and I like the decorations. You feel like you're especially taken care of for the hour or two that you're there. The pricing is reasonable for amazing work. Some other people got tattoos before and after me and all of theirs looked amazing. I'm very happy with mine and I'm looking forward to coming back for my next tattoo. I've been to three shops so far and this one has my favorite artist and atmosphere since he jokes around with you and you feel comfortable. read more

I got my nose pierced here about 2 months ago and while everything went just fine, I would definitely recommend Insight Studios instead. Bob at Insight is so much more "surgical" in his approach, so you feel 100% confident that you're being properly taken care of. This was also the second time I've gotten my nose pierced, and it hurt a hell of a lot more than the first. I'm thinking this might be because he made it a 16 gauge piercing, which is pretty big for a nose piercing (they're normally 18, maybe 20). Most nose rings you'll find are in the 18-20 gauge, so the extra pain and larger hole is for naught in the long-run. read more

The artist is an amazing person. Friendly I would highly recommend his in a different location but if you instagram him he will reply fast

Bees tattoos are so beautiful and amazing I even planned to dedicate my whole leg to his artwork. It's just amazing how beautiful he can do it and how well he can make a piece come together. I had been to another local tattoo shop with my husband and didn't have a great experience, so I was apprehensive coming here for my first tattoo. Dusty set me at ease from the beginning by asking lots of questions. He seemed really invested in me getting exactly what I wanted, while making great suggestions based on his experience. He thought adding a little color to my tattoo would make it pop and he was right! I get compliments on it from strangers! Dusty was friendly and approachable and the vibe in the shop was relaxed. I thought the price was reasonable considering how much work Dusty put into the sketch for my tattoo. Definitely planning on coming back for my next one! read more

Bee Tattoo - Love the delicate details and the green that Dusty suggested. - Tattoo Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

All my tattoos are from Bee Tattoo. The artists are really nice guys, and they do great work, custom or otherwise. The shop has a laid back, casual atmosphere that puts me at ease. Don't worry, though--they are not laid back when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation! Also, in my experience, their prices are extremely reasonable. Good work does cost money, but you could easily pay double for the same tattoos at some other shops. Hopefully, they will open up again soon! read more

My friend and I were here to get our ears pierced earlier today. I really wish we'd gotten the name of the man who did it, because he was incredible - professional and friendly and very nice and approachable (thank you!). We both got conch piercings and I love the way he did mine and the way it looks. And it was $40. What a deal. read more

I have been passing by this place for quite some time. Glad I made my way in. I have never been in a tattoo shop where I felt calmness and just an overall great vibe. Dusty Rhodes did my wrist tat and will be doing all my others in the future. He was personable and made me feel comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a clean and nice place to get your tat without all the extra drama. read more

I have never experienced a more unprofessional tattoo and piercing studio. Two separate times I have attempted to get my nose repierced (my initial piercing fell out in my sleep about a week ago). The first time I went I was told that they didn't have a piercer in, even though the website states that piercings are available Tuesday-Saturday (I went in on a Friday evening). The guy in the studio was very nice. He told me a piercer would be in on Tuesday and then recommended somewhere else to go for the evening, although I was unable to go at that time. So, it's Tuesday and I decide to call ahead to make sure that they had piercing availability. To my dismay and frustration the person on the other end said there was no piercer for the night. I really wish that I had more positive things to say, but my experience has just been truly unprofessional. A studio that advertises piercings should have piercers more readily available. read more

This place was absolutely amazing! I went a few weeks ago after having a bad experience at another shop and not feeling comfortable getting my tattoo there. There was only one guy there at the time because of a convention going on (I'm so sorry I forgot the guys name) and he was phenomenal! Fair price, a great job done! It's almost done healing and I love it! It looks great and the guy was so patient and understanding with it being my first tattoo and me being super anxious. I'm so happy I came here and when I eventually want to get another tattoo I will go here. Thanks so much! read more

This place rocks. The staff is so nice, patient, reasonably priced. It was a pleasure to go there today and get my nose pierced. Just got inked up last night over here and it came out perfect, I wanted to get this one particular art piece done for the past 6 months and all the other places turned me down or charged me wayy too much. I am very pleased with the work and i will definitely go back to finish off the shading and back ground images. EXCELLENT WORK! DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! read more

A friend and I both went to get a cartilage piercing, and both of us got infected despite having many successful piercings in the past. Looking back, nether of us remember seeing the jewelry sterilized (and it wasn't sealed), or the piercer washing his hands. I'm only mostly sure he wore gloves. We were both extremely careful with our aftercare, and my infection was the worst I've ever seen read more

I got my first tattoo here, and I am happy I did. The tattoo artist right away explained to me that it would be painful and that the tattoo would not last very long since it's in a highly mobile location, my finger it might fade. I enjoyed the honesty and sincerity but still decided to get my tattoo in that spot. As soon as he was done, the tattoo artist told me that If I had any problems with the ink fading to come back again. He was right, my tattoo faded (Not badly but noticeably, and due to my lack of experience in tattoo care) and I decided to go back. Sure enough he retouched it free of charge! My tattoo still looks brand new to this day, and this was a few years ago! I always get compliments on my tattoo and asked where it was done. Highly recommend this joint! Extremely sanitary, reasonably priced, and amazing customer service! Shout out to "BB.Gon" read more

I went to Bee's to get my nose pierced. The only reason I am giving it a 4.5 is because they did not have a wide array of nose jewelry, but the service was SUPERB and the piercer was so kind and patient in spite of myself and a hoard of friends coming in nervous. He was so kind and patient. I would recommend this place to any of my friends, and I would also say that they came in $25 cheaper than the other studios near me in Chicago. I got a piercing here yesterday with friends to celebrate National Piercing Day. While the location itself looks like a hole in the wall, we were surprised by the friendly service and professionalism of the piercer. He gave genuine advice about where to get piercings and did not seem like he was trying to convince me of anything just for profit. The whole experience was pleasant and he gives a sheet that walks you through the aftercare steps. Great spot! read more

Professional and friendly!! This is a small, locally owned tattoo place. My friend and I visited to get a price estimate and then to come get out tattoos. Bee Tattoo - Thrilled with my first tattoo! - Tattoo Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Bee is amazing!!! He does an amazing job. He gives welcomes your ideas and also works with you so that you leave satisfied and happy!

I had an excellent experience here today with my sisters. We reached out to the parlor two days earlier with a spontaneous project, and received fantastic service from Jolly. After a few quick exchanges, we had scheduled an appointment with artwork ready to go. Upon arrival today, we were greeted and had a quick discussion confirming our plans, which made us very comfortable to continue with our project. Jolly was very professional and personable, listened well and had great relatable stories, and was open to feedback during the procedure. Our tattoos turned out better than imagined. I am not a Chicago native, but I would consider traveling to get more work done by Jolly. Side note: if you like taxidermy, mention it. He has great stories. Side Side note: Just noticed that Jolly snuck my sisters' initials into my tattoo without my prompting or request. If there is a way to give a Yelp review 6 stars, I need to update my review. read more

This could get addicting...seriously spectacular artwork by Jolly yesterday...but I expected as much based upon his impressive reviews and portfolio. Such nice people coming in and out of the shop and interacting with sublime grace. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Decent prices and the artists are phenomenal plus this place is squeaky clean. this place is great, but just one thing - yelp says they accept credit cards but they don't so take cash when you go.

So glad we decided to come here after our luck with other piercing shops. It was off a whim and we decided to look for walk ins. Me and my friend decided to call first. We called and visited 2 places. The first wouldn't pick up the phone and the other we felt was out of our range. When we called Bee, all our questions were answered honestly and we felt totally comfortable coming in. It was cash only, so we stopped at a CVS a blocked down. Dusty (who also was the one to answer the phone) was very conversational and made me feel comfortable, especially since it was my first piercing. I appreciate his honesty when it came to my right ear (which has extra cartilage in it) and I was happy to have my left ear for the industrial. I am in love my peircing and highly recommend this place! Thank you Dusty! read more

I would honestly give this place a zero if I could. I was going there go to get one piercing and two replacements. I went in around 9 PM and there were only two guys there, who initially argued in front of me over who should do the piercing. I asked for very specific earrings: simple silver with flat backs and a smaller ball. After searching for something so simple, the guy piercing my ear showed me the earrings, they were the correct earrings, and I thought everything was good. So several things ended up going wrong. With the actual piercing, a forward helix, he said there wasn't enough room for a flat black, so I have this very elongated curved bar that easily could have been a much shorter flat back due the to the fact that it was cartilage and barely swelled; but sure whatever that was understandable at the time. That being said, he was very nervous and seemed ill experienced. Then I had him change out two other piercings to match, and with one he literally did not know how to unscrew the ball off the current piece in my ear, so I took the earring out for him. And then, he replaced it with another gigantic curved piece that I did not ask for nor like and had specifically gone over with him. It's another forward felix right about the daith, so the long bar keeps jutting out forward out of my ear. The last one was a tragus; my original earring had fallen out, but I had made sure to keep a piece in there backwards to ensure it would not close. The piece had fallen out that morning, so he kept insisting that it had closed completely from morning until night. So I had him leave it. As soon as I walked in my car, not even 30 seconds later, I was able to pierce it all the way through. Despite proving it pierced, the one earring with the flat back I paid extra to take home with me (one flat back and one curved long bar) did not fit. And neither did the curved bar because the piercing had healed in a straight line. So I spent $40 on a piercing, and $60 altogether, as a waste. I will now have to go to another place where they actually understand what the customer wants, pay a minimum of of $30, just to get the pieces changed to what I had clearly asked for. Oh, and I asked to be given my original earring that I took out back, twice, and never got it. I don't know about their tattoo section, but I would not go there for a piercing ever. Oh, and there was nothing about how to keep it clean, healing time, etc. read more
