Majorly impressed with Bee Friendly Honey for removing a hive from my garage. Discovered a swarm near our garage, which adjoins our neighbor's and the neighbors used Bee Friendly Honey before. Easy to schedule with Steve all online, and a week later (today) Steve comes by to take care of the hive. Turns out the hive is in the space between the buildings and entered through the roof flashing. And it was attracted to an old abandoned hive just next to that spot! The task involved finding the hive, removing the bees, removing both hives, painting the walls to remove the scent, sealing the entry points, and repairing the walls. I had a honey bee swarm settle on the side of my house. In the past I had them come and leave in a few days. However, this time they stayed and were obviously getting into the house. I made an appointment with Bee Friendly Honey to remove the hive. Steven came and, using his impressive array of tools, found the hive in a wall below a roof area. He then went about a careful and meticulous process of sealing the area (along with himself and his tools) inside the house with a containment tent, cleaning the comb and hive out, and coaxing and vacuuming (into a container so they can be added to another hive later) as many bees out as he could with smoke and a dummy queen without pesticides, which was important to me considering the declining population of bees. He painted and sealed the area on the inside and outside to prevent future hives in this area, and then repaired and retextured the sheetrock access hole. When he left, it was as if the problem had never happened. He took responsibility for the entire project, and left nothing to be done by another specialist or contractor, all while being very considerate and unobtrusive as possible while doing heavy labor inside the house, which I really appreciated. Steven came to our house to locate and remove a bee hive that was in the ceiling of our master bedroom on the second floor. The bees had somehow managed to get under the eves on the roof and found a way into the walls. With some clever investigative work, he found exactly which drywall panel needed to be removed. He safely extracted the bees, their hive, and then sealed up the entry, restored and textured the drywall. The only sign he was there is a need for paint. Even though he had two hive removals that day, he made time that evening to check out our bee situation and schedule a day/time to remove the hive. We communicated with him primarily by email and text. It took some time to find the exact location of the hive (in a hidden cavity between the fireplace flue and chimney stack!). His approach was to make a small access hole to reach the hive. After he removed/captured the bees with a gentle vacuum system, he patched up the wall and put the shingles back.
