I'll first review about the location. It's fairly easy to find with GPS. We drove from Knoxville and got right to it. The showroom is a little tight but they have the selection of every product they carry. Their people working there are not hovering or pushy and will let you try and interact at your own pace. And having been aggravated at other places this was a nice breath of fresh air. Now I'll add a tidbit for the mattress. We shopped hard for this: read reviews, read sleep like the dead, endured other company showrooms, laid on at least a hundred different beds. We finally had two other mattresses as a basis of comparison to use against our choice at BIAB: the tempurpedic cloud luxe breeze and the sleep number i8. We ruled out sleepnumber due to the reasons of having to maintain upkeep on the electronic equipment to keep air in the mattress in the long run. We ruled out the TempurPedic mattress because in comparison to the BedInABox Serenity Cooling Memory Foam the price was too high and getting it too our door too inconvenient. We ended up going with the Bed In A Box Serenity Cooling Memory Foam in a king size. We also bought the base. And as advertised the bed was built and arrived to our door in a timely manner. Me and my friend got the bed and base upstairs pretty easy. The base was easy to assemble and had all parts. The bed came open easy and came out to full size in less than a minute. After that we let it air out for 24-36 hours and was good to go. So in conclusion if you are nearby in the area and wondered...then hopefully this will help you take that next step in the door. The wife felt our Stearns and Foster pillow top mattress was getting uncomfortable and needed replacing. Long story but after buying and "returning" 2 mattresses we had come to the conclusion that a latex mattress was the solution. With all the trouble we'd had....money was no longer an object; however, having experienced the pains of the return process, we chose Bed In A Box because of their hassle-free return policy. The fact that the price of mattress was very reasonable was merely a bonus. As we slipped under the covers the first night, we were both hoping we'd found the answer. Read the reviews and couldn't quite believe it. So, I stopped by the factory to see for myself if the product was as good as the claims online. I drove 4 hours just to check them out. The Bed in a Box team showed me each mattress, answered all of my many questions, and helped me pick out the right mattress. I bought it thinking, if it isn't all they claim it to be, I'll return it. As a military officer, I do suffer from some back pain from the wear and tear of military life. My last two mattresses - both name brand mattresses - gave me many sleepless and painful nights. After my first night on my Bed in a Box mattress, my back felt better than it had in years. I've had it now a month and can say with confidence that this is the best mattress I have ever owned. I sleep better than I have in years and my back pain is (mostly) gone. I will never use another mattress again. Thank you, Bed in a Box, for the best rest I have had in years! We tried the Bed in a Box pac bamboo gel mattress in a store close to where we live and it is a really nice mattress. I'm not sure it's really 13" based on the math. If you look at the sleep like the dead website and see the detailed mattress description, you might understand what I mean, the layers seem to add up to 11 so maybe with some non-foam padding on top it's 13"? We did find this mattress to be very comfortable in the showroom and it seemed to be constructed well. We tried to order this mattress from this local store and that was a strange experience. That retailer is fairly new and has a lot of very postive yelp reviews. They do seem concerned about yelp reviews and customer experience, so I guess that's good and possibly bad at the same time. Why is it bad? Because if something goes wrong with your order, they might not tell you, and then the poor delivery guy will end up taking the blame. I don't know exactly what was wrong with our order. Maybe they ordered the wrong mattress for us? Maybe that was only part of the problem? I don't know, but I did receive my refund. I think it's important for a store to not tell a customer something is going to happen unless it really is going to happen (ie someone will phone you on a specific day, etc.) Anyway, this company Bed In A Box has a good reputation for customer service and quality. We would have ordered directly from them but instead we ordered a less expensive mattress via Amazon, which I think will be slightly softer than the one we tried in the showroom. I was recently in the market for a new mattress and performed extensive research on different memory foam mattresses and brands. For cost it doesn't get much better than this. I was skeptical about buying before I tried since you spend such a large portion of your life in bed, so I drove down to their main location in Tennessee from Chicago to make the purchase. Customer service was super responsive and the company was overall a pleasure to do business with.
